Always makes me smile when Neevesy describes himself as an ordinary rider lol
We think he's the best!
Ordinary! 😂😂😂
He is always modest. Old school 👍
Read my mind, i wanna be "an average rider" like you Neevesy 🤩
The production quality of these videos has gotten much better.
Whoever edited this deserves a raise, some of the transitions were 👌
It’s a great guy they have doing this 😉
The sound of the BMW at full chat was spine tingling 😮
And that’s withy a stock exhaust
Oh yeah, cat out stage 2 and obviously exhaust valve out, mate scream like a monster 😅
@LoveBikesDorel Bren tuning puts a flash on these to put out about 230 hp! 🤯
I have a 2017 S1000RR and with full titanium exhaust and stage 2 Bren tuning. I should have an approximate 207 hp at the rear. Personally never dyno but similar, have been at that.
Ooh “Sound up” part was sooo good !! The sound of s1000rr is just pure harmony for my ears
I own a 2022 S1000RR and just did three days on the Hockenhiem ring on a 2023 S1000RR. I'm amazed at the difference between the two. The new bike picks up revs much faster and has way more induction noise, the suspension feels plusher yet more stable and the brake have a much better initial bite. I'm having a really hard time trying to not trade mine in for the new one.
Thanks for the comment. How interesting! And what a fantastic problem to have :D
Did you felt any difference on corner stability with the wings? I have the S1krr 2020 M and a 2021 R1m with wings and R1M feels better planted on high speed turns.
@@grandtainoi think you might’ve answered your own question !??
Nothing a tune, set of pads and new master cylinder wount fix. Rs2e in Belgium is the best tune I've tried for these bikes so far. Spent alot on em
@@chrisstarr4121which tune did you get?
I’m a bit confused. So the V4S win’s because it’s easier to ride on the track, but you’d still use the S1000RR on the road and it’s quicker on the track when used by professionals. Isn’t that a 2:1 win for bmw? Also let’s not forget the price.
So much contradiction 😂
Yep .i didn't get that part .easy to ride less midrange less top end but at same time good for track. WTF this guys is joke 😅. Both bike restricted. V4 196 at rear restricted when bmw 178 restricted even less torque then ducati but at same time faster at track .i guess the guy who tested never rode ducati. Probably very familiar with bmw .less experience on v4 .no wonder 😅
only problem is it sounds just as boring and basic as every other inline 4 out there(minus the r1)
I own both bikes. If you want all around smoothness, the BMW wins. If you like that raw power and killer V4 sound, then the V4S is it. It's very subjective, but I love both bikes for both street and hitting the canyons.
@@No_S3rvice What raw power mate - the guy was clear the bm is having more raw :))
The sound editing on this video was insane. Spine tingling. However as far as lap times, he just got faster every time. That sounds like getting warmed up and used to the track.
That's not how that works. They do many laps for each time. Most moto-journalists agree the BMW is quicker.
It's one of his local tracks he tests tyres for Pirelli on.
Great video, thank you guys! It would have been interesting to have Neevesy put in some 95% laptimes, just to see the time difference between the two bikes for more mortal riders. Because I mean, let's not forget that 2 seconds is a huge difference for a pro rider on the same year superbikes, on the same tires! Thank you again, great job pointing out the differences between the two and making an allround interesting video!
Thank you for this superbike test. Glad you are still doing these type of test. Would be nice to see accelerations figures and dyno testing the bikes.
Astonishing result. That's what makes the test & MN's explanation so valuable, thanks!
That's a great video and detailed explaination. The end really surprised. 💥
That intro is amazing, the panigale on the back wheel is pure art
Glad you like it!
Excellent video. I appreciated the SOUND UP 🔥
Loved the intro on this, more of this please! While i can only wish to have Neevesy's skills, I can pretty much agree with the comments regarding the Ducati being easier to ride. Having had two Gen 4s (And a leaky 21 RSV4 Factory) and now a 23 Panigale V4S. I can honestly say the Ducati gives me the most confidence of any of them on track which i never would have thought. I am not sure what magical Ducati source is sprinkled on that bike. But it really does make the rider feel special and i think that is what counts towards the overall enjoyment.
One thing i am intrigued about, the S1000RR had the M carbon wheels which are pretty damn light. Much lighter than the forged Marchesini. I have no doubt that contributed to the faster direction change for the test rider mentioned. It would have been interesting to see a stock M forged wheel fitted instead and if that had a dramatic effect on the times.
But those are both similar in trim. And the bmw trim package happens to come with the carbon fiber wheels. Honestly only the basic packages come with anything but carbon fiber wheels now!
What a privilege MCN providing such talented people to produce a riveting video - sheer frightening joy!!!
I am fortunate to own both these bikes..albeit older versions; a gen 3 s1000rr and 21 yr panigale. I compare them back to back all the time. They are both rapid in race mode for road use.
The Panigale is definitely quicker but i often struggle with deciding which one to ride 😂
As always, great review Neevesy! Love the honesty.
Epic video - loved the edit+shots (as well as the riding…)
LOL
GREAT beginning to the video!
Video quality is outstanding , all in all this tests have gone up in the sky in all aspects
Still love the style of the main video, but that intro was next level. And a solid pair of wheelies in there to really seal it. More please
Great commentary here. Quality descriptions and explanations. Thanks a lot for this. I already have one of these two in the garage but now I want the other….
Same here, maybe is time to try something german 😂
@@Crespusk8 I went to see the BMW M1000R today. It sounds hell angry.
Thank you, great video with all of the right things we all need to know. I sold my 22 M-Sport a year ago and have been looking again already, for the price of the SKRR it makes a lot of sense to consider, especially in Australia, I loved my last RR immensely.
Amazing intro!!!
What beautiful pieces of art! Either one of those, in my living room if you please! Great video! Best!
good content ...thanks
Very cool review that was epic interesting and informative Keep it up Neevesy
Excellent video 👍🏻
Thank you for not being afraid to be transparent and pick and freely say your opinions without being bias just facts I like it and great video very good quality
Interesting comparison! First thanks for that. My S1000rr M package was scheduled to be built yesterday in Berlin and I should have it in 2 weeks. I'm excited to feel what it has to offer and how different it rides compared to my last sport bike (996).
However since ordering it I've been wondering if I should have chosen the Pani V4 as it's beautiful and has much more character. Time will tell.....
Great video. All the riders shown are probably better than most people buying them so I guess both will be fine and it will go down to simple things like looks, ergonomics, local dealer, deals, etc etc
Then you get the naked version of either of them ! :)
From 8:48 the sound of the S1RR is amazing, but not quite as amazing as the way it knocks off its speed.
Great review.. i could make it simpler.. if you want to look the nuts. Ducati.. if you want to ride mainly on the road . Bmw. All in all another great video thank you mcn.. keep them coming
Great video
Amazing shots
Thanks very much. Our videographer Joseph did a brilliant job
Haven't had a sports bike since the early R1s but seeing these I wish I could own one now. Just awesome machines. I think the Ducati would be the bike for me. It's the Ferrari of bikes in my eyes. Looks amazing and that sound is so beautiful.
All the heroes will be off to buy a Double R now, and would have been better off with the Panigale. Electronics are a necessity for the road and the riders who are fair weather, summer weekend riders. The vast majority of the bike riding public will be better off with a bike that’s controllable, safe and forgiving.
Awesome stuff
Best editor 👏👏👏🏍️
Thanks for review, as always... EPIC. For me if you want to go all out and You're brave enough Panigale is still the way to go but with Akrapovic set. Panigale has crazy amount of juice left in this engine.
These need to be tested against an 18 year old GSXR 1000.
Dave will bust that ass
😂😂😂 ctxp ❤❤❤
ua-cam.com/video/q0O8Q0x38mI/v-deo.html gsxr smoked ???????
@@blackbusanator damn that’s crazy
Yes please
Not what I expected at all on both counts, riding experience and lap times. Both amazing bikes.
You have a Great Job.
We can think of worse ways to earn a living :D
The editing and picture quality on this is superb
I wish we would have more sportbikes! I got a street triple rs 2023 with clip-ons and higher rearset, would absolutely love to have a fairing on it. middleweight is my way to go, but i do love to look at the big bikes.
awesome review
great reports
I love the way you do these tests and naration, so simple and plain yet so professional. At the moment I am riding Yamaha R7, the day i save the money to buy Panigale V2 is gonna be one of the luckiest days in my life. V4 is awesome but i know that i couldnt reach nearly the full potential of a V2, let alone V4 which is a rocket ship. On topic, never would i imagine that BMW would be the more crazy and ferocious than a V4 Panigale, but it happened. All love
Were the timing laps done with or without slicks? If it was done with Sp2 it gives very little information since it tears very fast, especially with traction control.
This is the video ive been waiting for 😂
We hope you like it!
Just picked up a new S1KRR and its a puppy dog at under 9K revs, extremely friendly and comfy on street. Now have to see how it behaves on track for us normal riders.
Awesome video, that s1000 is just🔥
beautiful bikes. Wonder which one is more comforable to ride in non track enviroment.
Brilliant 🔥😎🍻
Both stunning bikes done full justice by some great cinematography. Would the characteristics of the track have favoured one bike over the other and hence had any influence on lap times?
Great video........
Thank you! We had a lot of fun making it
Although not the same I’ve got a 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4s and whilst away on a trip up to North Yorkshire I was riding spiritedly and following a friend we both entered a corner that was turning back on itself and without cornering ABS I don’t think I would have either made the corner or stayed upright, but the bike just went round lent over with the ABS working with no fuss which left me feeling no panic strangely enough. Btw we as a group are all advanced riders so we know how to read the roads, but even now and then it’s still good to have electronics that are there as a backup and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Great video btw neevesy cheers .
I've got a 2018 V4S and I always thought it was an easy, forgiving, comfortable bike to ride, especially after the 1198 I had before.
Wait until you try a newer one, it gets tamed at lower rpm a lot.
The 1098/1198 generation bikes are absolute animals
@courtneymcgowan9561 and that's the truth,it was not a pleasant bike to ride below 60 mph but at higher speed (racetrack speeds) it was a great bike, some people prefer the older Ducati's and I can understand that, raw, harsh, unforgiving but packed with character, fabulous at the right time and place.
My 1098R in pure race condition took a long modification phase for the suspension. That part was awefull at the beginning. But ….. that engine was incredible. Raw power from the low to the top end, never ending, 183 HP at the rear wheel. Compared it to sitting on a heavy thunderstorm. Very fast and full of emotions. That caracter was taken to the first Multistradas 1200. Too raw for the purpose, but shear fun in good hands. Suspension needs mods to the stiffer side to fit the motor. Ourdays Multis V4S are great bikes from the beginning. Soft cats instead of an animal. They offer never the raw power from 3000-7000 rpm compared to the early version. But useful in any experienced hand.
I use my Panigale V4 almost every day and i love it!
I think we’re coming to a point where skill/power over electronics is the preferred way to go. Every time I get on my 1098 it takes me back to the golden age of motorcycles
Looking forward with the comparison of the V4R 😉😏
Definitely not expected result! I have S1K 2019/20 M and still waiting for a bigger change worth it of changing to a new generation
Haven't ridden a 23 yet have you?
Is the Supercorsa v4 Sp better already than the v3 sc2?
That bmw styling has improved SO much… “even” headlights being the best part!
Neaveys, please enter the f900 cup! Be incredible to see you in that series.
Get the yamaha R1M into the game too. Wanna see the engine characteristics compared to the Ducati & BMW. And the handling
So interesting. I am not a fast rider and don’t have any ambitions to be. But so great to see what these beautiful bikes are about proper.
Totally agree, i don't ride sports bikes so often but i had so much fun trying the BMW sports range this year, very useable even to someone with limited sports bike experience.

Mr Neevesy please do a short video on why you went from ARAI to Shoei 🧑🏻🚀
I still wanna see an RSV4 -vs- S1K -vs- Panigale V4
Love it...
Super surprising results tbh
Always enjoy how MCN discusses the bikes more in their videos rather than throwing up on board video. I've gotten very tired of GoPro reviews where the reviewer just yells "OH MY GAWD" on every straight.
MCN prima test weer! 👍.
Jammer dat er op superbike gebied weinig ontwikkeling is vanuit Japan. Geen uitdaging meer voor de Europese merken. Op straat en nu ook al in de moto GP en WSB.
E i lad, cumen ha a pint wi us an discoos?
Great video comparison but interested to know the price difference in the spec as ridden by yourselves
Coming soon!
The sound of the BMW is incredible!! Looks sooo good too
I'm in awe of this kind of feeling for grip.
Hope you enjoyed the video! It was a lot of fun to make
Was my dilemma which one to go for and Panigale won definitely for the look and character. I was always thinking that S1000RR is easier and more comfortable. The 2022 model feels like when I tried it on the road. Interesting enough that Neevesy still believes that BMW is easier to ride on the street but not in the track ? Did the tried the Panigale with Full Engine map ? By default when you go to RaceA riding mode, engine map gets to high not full.
The stereo sound in my ear holes 🫠🫠🫠
More superbikes and more track lap times? 😁 rsv4factory,gsxrr,r1m,zx10rr,cbr1000rrrsp
Interesting to see how Polita rides; quite upright and not hanging off very much. One could think he wouldn’t be that fast, but he is😃 Fascinating.
Have a look at some videos of Troy Corser as well. He sits closer to the tank and rather than riding on the balls of his feet, he has them further forward on the pegs as you would when you are cruising around the streets.
Its a more old-school riding style, but is very effective (Simon Crafers Motovudu DVD uses this positioning)... a bunch of world champions have won using this style.
Brutal bikes both of them ❤❤❤
Can we have another shoutout to Joes videography pls !! incredible
all i needed to know
After reading this months FastBikes magazine it sounds as if they're a lot more changes to the BMW this year than what Neevesy said. Loads of work going on underneath the fairings which isn't mentioned at all
How does the k5 compare? 😅
Me atrevo y sin mido al éxito 😎✌🏼😌
What were your lap times Neevesy? Just curious.
I really appreciate your tests and honestly👍👍👍 but why the V4s vs S1000RR when the title says the best superbike. The best superbike for 2023 should be a contest between the V4R and the M1000RR. As an V4R owner I hope you will compare them one day.
Fascinating video. I reckon Ducati at least for a road bike or two give up on that v2-feel and use the great qualities of the v4 as a v4. The bmw's livery is a bit reminiscent of early 90s shell suit style, but I do prefer its looks which I admit is probably at odds with the view of most
I might've said would be great to get more details especially Polita's insights - and I see from this morning's paper the print review has all that. Good to see decent videos and that the paper isn't just a transcription of the vid
What r1 honda ect da
Nice ride nibsi
Awesome video as always. I just didn't really get the result. The BMW is faster on track, and it's better for the road, but the Ducati wins?
Any news on the next zx10r?
Outstanding, more videos like this please. The duke is not the fastest anymore 🥶, that bmw 😘
S1000RR has been on my list to own for many years now but ive never made it happen...better start saving some pennies and decide what is going to make way!
S1000RR/M1000RR BMW bikes are hardcore not only in superbike form but in offroad and adventure form too. Great bikes overall it goes the same for BMW cars.
So why aren't the bm's winning any races? I find it bizarre. Maybe after these updates and the fact they're going less road focused I'd say they might he more competitive next year, wonder if this will hamper their TT efforts
It look like this bmw has the Akrapovic full exhaust system that bmw offers on bmwmotorrad?
I guess "position does not ride" fits this guy pretty good, he's very up all times. What laptimes did you do? What's the difference?
Awesome
I might be biased since I have a S1000RR. BUT, you can't deny how much better it sounds with that screaming inline 4. Also I'm 191cm tall and I'm comfortable on it, it has cruise, heated grips, navi, quick shifter up and down, the list goes on.
Brakes are amazing, speed is amazing, handling is out of this world. What's not to like
They're both amazing bikes in their own ways. Hope you liked the video!
I'm definitely in the inline 4 camp but I can't deny the V4's sound amazing in their own way too.
@@UpsideDownFork the Aprilia RSV4 is the best sounding engine, which is an 1100 V4, but the Ducati V4's does not have a good sound in my opinion (also heard them in real life). I much rather prefer the sound of the V2 Ducati's like the 1299. Those engines sound like thunder.
@@Kristofferheihei I do like the Aprilia V4 in the RS and Tuono. Sounds good and rides well too. I also agree that the older V twin Panigale is better sounding. I ride all the time with an 1199 Panigale and it sound incredible.
Call me old fashioned but there's something nostalgic and magical about a revvy inline four. Each to their own. We are spoiled for choice!
@@UpsideDownFork there's many reasons why I have the BMW. One of the main reasons is of course the screaming F1 car racing sound from an inline 4 engine. They sound like they're always racing
