Hey 👋 you don't tie any knots after your rings or chains; I think it makes the tatting lay flatter that way, japanese tatters some videos also do it that way too. The reason I thought you were supposed to tie knot after each ring and chain, most american videos show this method. I don't think the tatting will come apart without the knots tied. Interesting video and will watch more, thank you. 😀
Thanks for sharing a nice, easy to understand tatting method. I've used something called a locker hook (from Joann Fabrics) and regular yarn to practice new stitches. It's like tatting on steroids, but it makes the process easier to see until you get the hang of it.
this looks way easier than the shuttle
It is still "needle tatting" even though you don't use the traditional tatting needle. I have seen it done by a needle but using the hands as if for a shuttle. Whatever, all tatting is beautiful!!
Very well done! I need to replicate a pattern to repair a damaged piece of tatting. Your video shows a very similar pattern. I am just learning to tat. It has helped me tremendously. Thank you so much!
This will be so much easier than using a shuttle, cumbersome for my arthritic fingers.
With needle tatting, you need to make a single knot after each element, either ring or chain. Tatting with a shuttle you only make knots when told to do so in the pattern.
So glad you posted this! All I have is a longer, sharp needle but wasn't sure how to get started. Thank you!
Thanks for explaining everything so clearly each step of the way. A lot of tutorials I've found for various crafty things don't tell you what they are doing or explain what the stitches etc are.
I love how slow you went, everything was well explained! Thank you
Finally! Thank you for making a video that explains and demonstrates this technique clearly and simply without over-complicating it. It really is not difficult, but other instructions leave steps out to make it seem complicated. Your explanations are excellent!
I want to thank you so much for your clear and helpful video on needle tatting! I have been struggling with how to hold the work after closing a ring, and also how to join picots. You have made my day!!!!!
Love your needle tatting,it is beautiful. I am amazed.thank you.
Какой хороший показ , медленно не спеша , что многим этого не хватает. Так хотелось освоить новую маленькую иголку. Жду новых работ и фонтазий . Ленинград.
I love trying new things.. thank u so much... Very easy to understand.. . explained very well!!!
Thank you so much! I never could learn from other methods or videos yours is so nice and easy to follow!!
Thank you! You are a very good teacher!
Thanks for explaining a very easy method with ordinary needle. Now only I learn tatting. Thank you so much friend.
Great idea!! My tatting needle doesn't come in until March 4th so thanks to you I'll be using a tapestry needle to practice😊❤
