I actually like Dasani, the best when I have to drink bottled water. However, I don't like drinking bottled water of any kind of I can help it cause it gives me headaches, especially the more purified waters. The best water is room temperature public drinking fountain water at like a retail store. I could drink that for days.

As an actually water snob who has done this blind test before on different occasions and got them correct everytime. (I can even taste difference in tap water from different parts of my city by the hardness) Arrowhead has actually gotten worse over the years I actually believe arrowhead is gotten from someplace natural because it has actually changed. Aquafina is essentially just filtered tab water which means it actually pretty good. Smart and the alkaline waters are pretty good. Fiji has a different mouthfeel, almost heavy, which you probably don’t like but is probably the best tasting water. I drink tap before Dasani.
I live on the mountain where the arrowhead water gets bottled, and it does come from a natural spring. It used to be taken directly from the channels, but now there are pipelines connected to offshoots. There's actually a legal dispute for limiting how much water is being taken by the company that bottles the water, mainly for how much they take even during our numerous droughts. Supposedly, they had been using an expired permit for years. So it does fluctuate in taste, especially since the company has no self control

Yup. Styrofoam and paper is the WORST kind of cup to drink anything out of. That being said, even a pure crystal glass, christened in the tears of an elven goddess, couldn't make Dasani taste half decent.
My kids had me do a blind test of 3 brands of bottled water and tap water 10 years ago when I had convinced myself that Dasani was my favorite water. I learned my lesson when I picked the tap water as my favorite and Dasani as my least favorite
Don't feel bad, man. Years ago someone did this with certified wine "experts". Changed the labels and the quoted price of them. The second cheapest one crushed all of the actually expensive ones.
Fun fact: Dasani was removed from Britain after it was discovered the water was just filtered tap water (they advertised it as mineral water and so broke advertising law).
During quarantine, when everyone was hoarding everything, people at Walmart were passing up multiple pallets full of 32 pk Dasani looking for water. They were buying up the great value, the gallons, the alkaline, the mini bottles and everything else that wasn’t Dasani. 😂😂😂
I recently did a 5k and volunteered in the pre-run warm up. After the race, Coca Cola was given out cases of left over Dasani. The number of people who passed on the Dasani was astonishing We wouldn't take Dasani even when it was free.

My grandmother's tap water was so good, you could leave a cup out overnight and drink it the next morning and it still tastes amazing. I woulda been a millionaire had I sold that stuff in bottles compared to the crap that is Dasani, Aquafina, and others.
It's also a very mixed bag of water too. All Dasani is tap water without extra filtering. From multiple cities. Some of those bottles, you can open them and smell the toxic fumes of barely drinkable sewage sludge.
@@Styner09 That's not true. Usually a Barolo or Amarone is going to be at a higher price point so if you like that then buy it. But there are diminishing returns the more expensive wine gets. And a wine being more expensive doesn't necessarily mean it'll taste better to you

Jordan I'm sorry to tell you this, but Dasani quite literally has salt in it. Apparently that's kind of common in certain bottled waters, but especially Dasani. Dasani had also been banned in the UK because of the amount of Bromate which exceeded the UK's limit for bottled waters. Edit: OKAY LISTEN. I know they weren't outright banned and i'm sorry I said that. They voluntarily pulled out after the water contamination incident ruined their reputation. Thank you to those who corrected me though, honestly. Nah dude, Dasani has always been gross. It has never tasted better. It was always been disgusting. For the majority of my life since I had my first one, I would usually go thirsty rather than drinking it again, and if there was no other options, I would gulp it down and drink the whole bottle as fast as I could to get the experience over with.

The Dasani I used to drink in my hometown was my favorite water in the area, but where I live now, the stuff is absolutely vile. Either they changed practices on how they filter and bottle it, or it really is just where they got the water from, and they put no effort into making it the same quality. I detest Dasani and Aquafina. My current favorite is Icelandic, but my all-time favorite is Jana from Croatia. I had it YEARS ago. Found it at a local grocery outlet. It was so good my child even noticed it. He was five at the time and he’s sitting in the backseat drinking his water and says ‘Mom, this water is really good!’ Haven’t been able to find it since.

I mean, a quick google search will tell you that the taste of water can and does change based on its container. So technically, you could still favor Dasani without it having much to do with the water itself, but the bottle changes things.
90% of the water you buy the bottle is either from a well or from a tap somewhere regionally to you. Hardly any of it is ever filtered or treated in any way.

Worked at the coke plant in Elizabethtown Kentucky when they bottled Desani for local distribution. It was literally Elizabethtown water, just filtered. So people would buy Desani at restaurants instead of getting filtered water from machines for free and was THE SAME WATER, BOTH FILTERED. Desani is still local water to whatever city it is filtered in, just filtered. You could buy a Zero water filter and get the same thing.

Living in Michigan we had 100% pure well water that was the most amazing water I've ever had. It wasn't filling and went down like breathing air. I miss it. I also learned a long time ago that pretty much any liquid varies in taste depending on the material you're cup is made of. Glass is far better than plastic, aluminum or styrofoam. Cheap plastics are the worse of course. So really all those tasted different out of those styrofoam cups than the bottles they came in. Even though you didn't try Evian, I wanted to share a interesting fact, Evian backwards is Naive.

Seriously, invest $1.50 in steam distilled water, sold by the gallon at grocery and convenience, stores. Tastes so good! I will note that it is the prevailing opinion among researchers that most people prefer water to have a flavor, that is, they prefer water with mineral content, like spring water. I’m one of those people who likes water to taste like liquid nothing, like the feeling of air conditioning, hitting your skin when you’ve come in from sweating hours, working in the garden. Righteous cold in your mouth. Since you claim to hate Fiji water, you’ve thrown my good opinion of you into revolt. What water did you drink as a child that Dasani is bliss and Fiji water is trash? Are you experiencing a little known side effect of some long-term medication? At the very least, in order to make your taste comparisons as valid as possible, you need distilled water to rinse your mouth between sips of the others. A control, to remove any residual, taste, or mouth feel so you have a clear palate for the next sample. And, the cups really should be glass. identical shot glasses, maybe? Also, have you brushed your teeth? Saliva doesn’t taste like nothing, we just become inured to our own, with food changing the profile as long as it’s lingering in there. You also might want to try the same test with the same waters at different times of day. That would mean you don’t get a reveal until the end. But it would also protect the results to a certain extent from the guessing game which clearly swayed you here. you weren’t testing for best flavor. You were testing for.Most Likely to Taste How I Feel When I Drink Dasani.

At least he was able to tell the difference in cup #3. They all tasted bad, but #3 tasted "smoother" because it was the only mixed water.

It's also a very mixed bag of water too. All Dasani is tap water without extra filtering. From multiple cities. Some of those bottles, you can open them and smell the toxic fumes of barely drinkable sewage sludge.

Jordan I'm sorry to tell you this, but Dasani quite literally has salt in it. Apparently that's kind of common in certain bottled waters, but especially Dasani. Dasani had also been banned in the UK because of the amount of Bromate which exceeded the UK's limit for bottled waters.

I really think that Dasani used to be better than it is now. When I was a kid back in the early 2000s, I typically drank Dasani and I seem to remember really liking the taste. More recently, I tried a bottle and even cold, it was nearly undrinkable
Nah dude, Dasani has always been gross. It has never tasted better. It was always been disgusting. For the majority of my life since I had my first one, I would usually go thirsty rather than drinking it again, and if there was no other options, I would gulp it down and drink the whole bottle as fast as I could to get the experience over with.
Yeah, apparently someone else in the comments says it depends where it was bottled. The Dasani I used to drink in my hometown was my favorite water in the area, but where I live now, the stuff is absolutely vile. Either they changed practices on how they filter and bottle it, or it really is just where they got the water from, and they put no effort into making it the same quality. Despite it being vile here though, there are still worse water brands out there, and honestly, I'd put smart water below it.
@@CrazyBarks I would have a hard time believing that I traveled all over the country with my family, and lots of places would only have Dasani, and every time I drank it, no matter what place I was in geographically, it always tasted terrible. The stuff is just gross.
My hatred of Dasani goes back to the 90s. It was disgusting then and as of 2 years ago when someone bought me a bottle because I was dehydrated it was disgusting then too (tap water tasted better).

As for water from a tap... unless it has a good purification system, it can taste anywhere from literal trash to decent enough.
I detest Dasani and Aquafina. My current favorite is Icelandic, but my all-time favorite is Jana from Croatia. I had it YEARS ago. Found it at a local grocery outlet. It was so good my child even noticed it. He was five at the time and he’s sitting in the backseat drinking his water and says ‘Mom, this water is really good!’ Haven’t been able to find it since.
I found that in Big Lots years ago and I agree. It's actually similar to Evian.

I mean, a quick google search will tell you that the taste of water can and does change based on its container. So technically, you could still favor Dasani without it having much to do with the water itself, but the bottle changes things.

90% of the water you buy the bottle is either from a well or from a tap somewhere regionally to you. Hardly any of it is ever filtered or treated in any way.

The Only Exception is water that is bottled within the Great Lakes Watershed region cannot legally leave the Great Lakes Watershed region.

Worked at the coke plant in Elizabethtown Kentucky when they bottled Desani for local distribution. It was literally Elizabethtown water, just filtered.
So people would buy Desani at restaurants instead of getting filtered water from machines for free and was THE SAME WATER, BOTH FILTERED.
Desani is still local water to whatever city it is filtered in, just filtered. You could buy a Zero water filter and get the same thing.
Not true Dasani taste much worse than my local filtered water they throw minerals and shit in it which makes it taste really bad

As a smart water guy myself, I’m glad I’ve been making the “smart” choice all these years
Living in Michigan we had 100% pure well water that was the most amazing water I've ever had. It wasn't filling and went down like breathing air. I miss it. I also learned a long time ago that pretty much any liquid varies in taste depending on the material you're cup is made of. Glass is far better than plastic, aluminum or styrofoam. Cheap plastics are the worse of course. So really all those tasted different out of those styrofoam cups than the bottles they came in. Even though you didn't try Evian, I wanted to share a interesting fact, Evian backwards is Naive.

You’ve proved the power of branding, the importance of a good name, and the persuasiveness of graphic design. Dasani made a good impression on you out of the gate at a time when you were Young and thirsty. It’s sold in refrigerated cases and cold water tastes 500% better than room temperature water. Seriously, invest $1.50 in steam distilled water, sold by the gallon at grocery and convenience, stores. Tastes so good!
I will note that it is the prevailing opinion among researchers that most people prefer water to have a flavor, that is, they prefer water with mineral content, like spring water. I am not among that number. I’m one of those people who likes water to taste like liquid nothing, like the feeling of air conditioning, hitting your skin when you’ve come in from sweating hours, working in the garden. Righteous cold in your mouth.
Since you claim to hate Fiji water, you’ve thrown my good opinion of you into revolt. What water did you drink as a child that Dasani is bliss and Fiji water is trash? Are you experiencing a little known side effect of some long-term medication? At the very least, in order to make your taste comparisons as valid as possible, you need distilled water to rinse your mouth between sips of the others. A control, to remove any residual, taste, or mouth feel so you have a clear palate for the next sample. And, the cups really should be glass. identical shot glasses, maybe? Also, have you brushed your teeth? Saliva doesn’t taste like nothing, we just become inured to our own, with food changing the profile as long as it’s lingering in there. You also might want to try the same test with the same waters at different times of day. That would mean you don’t get a reveal until the end. But it would also protect the results to a certain extent from the guessing game which clearly swayed you here. you weren’t testing for best flavor. You were testing for.Most Likely to Taste How I Feel When I Drink Dasani.
