I like them! I've been using the ikea Billy shelves for my collection. You can buy extra boards to add more shelves. They are a bit too deep for movies though. I have glass doors on some and that really keeps the dust and younger kids out of them. We moved house and I'm down some shelves so I'm currently in a bit of of messy state with my movie organization.
I really need some shelving, but I want it so I can dismantle the entire thing, for when I eventually move. So far I haven't had any luck. Currently, I have most of my movies in boxes that check-out receipt rolls came in. They're about the size of shoe boxes, but they're more sturdy. They work well, but I have to un-stack them every time I want to watch something.
Hey Dave, I was wondering if you used some sort of stabilizing mechanism on the wall, or if these shelves are sturdy enough to stand on their own. Looks really cool!
This is a fantastic video. Thanks for going a bit in-depth on the shelves. I've admired them for quite awhile and that pricing sounds tempting. Still have SO many DVDs in 30 count boxes in a room upstairs.
@@CinemaDaveMedia I also do have those shelves and I loved them. Planning to get more of these and one need to replace cause I accidentally broke the back wall lol. oh well. but yeah love them.
These are really nice shelves and exactly what I've been looking for. I have a few spaces where I can fit some shelves but the ones I have are either too small or two big. Ice been looking for something about 5ft. Love how your collection looks and how you've made use of the top space. 👍👍👋
Most shelves go together better with screws. You can get 1/8 to 1/4 inch or 3- to 5-mm wood panels cut to replace the back plate. Either way consider replacing the small nails with #4 screws (1/2 to 3/4 inch long) and it helps to drill pilot holes. If not building a wooden footing to put them on, find some small plastic feet 18- to 22-mm in diameter (with push bin nail attachment). Use 4 on a small shelf, more on longer shelves (say 2 under each upright). They will make movement easier and protect the bottom from damage (including any water from mopping).

Look great! I will have to keep these in mind for my collection.
Thanks!

@@ink-_- Thanks. These shelves stand on their own (very sturdy and solid) so I don’t use any stabilizing mechanism on the wall.
Thanks Dave! Been looking for good shelving for my media collection
Cool, highly recommend these shelves.
I was wondering how well have these shelves held up for you a year later? I know sometimes these cheaper shelves tend to sag over time.
@@Micah__ Shelves holding up great, no issues at all.
@@CinemaDaveMediaawesome, I appreciate the response!
I have the narrower version that has 2 columns and love them, great shelves for the price.
Cool, yes totally agree that these shelves are good and affordable.

Thanks Stephanie. Loving these shelves and still room for growth. Hope you have a great weekend!
Awesome Media Shelves Bro
Thanks!
Great looking shelves, Dave! It looks quite clean. Hope you are doing well, my friend!
Thanks Nathan. Doing well, hoping for warmer weather soon. 😀 Hope you are doing well too!
@Cinema Dave Media As do I! Weather has been insane lately. Stay safe!
Nice collection. Just bought the 1080 but thinking about getting this one instead because of the shelf depth. Any reason why you didn't get the 1080?
Thanks. Other shelves were too tall I think and we’d have to secure to the wall.
Hi Cinema Dave! Question: did you need a power drill or hammer to assemble these?
Hello. No power drill but hammer and screwdriver is needed.
