Thank you for the video and sharing your recipe. Is it ok to substitute regular coconut oil for the fractioned coconut oil? Thanks!

I came across your sea salt scrub recipe and was wondering how come all you ingredients don't add up to 100% I thought recipes needed to add up to 100% so that it would work correctly once made. Am I wrong in thinking this?? Please help

Hi there! I’m so sorry I’m just seeing this comment. All of my recipes add up to 100% and you are correct they need to add up to 100%. This recipe was only written in ounces and not percentage. The only thing that is written in % is the preservative because you will want to add the correct percentage of preservative depending on the preservative you choose. You will want to add the recommended amount based on the manufacturer. Example:
      10 oz of salt
2 oz of coconut oil =12 oz of total product
If I choose to use Optiphen preservative, I know I want to use 1% of the total weight
      12 oz x 1%(0.01) = 0.12 oz of preservative
So my total product weight is now 12.12 oz in % this would be:
      (10 oz / 12.12 oz) or 82.5% Salt
      (2 oz / 12.12 oz) or 16.5% Coconut oil
      (.12 / 12.12 oz) or 1% Optiphen preservative
I hope this helps and I didn’t confuse you.
Some of my recipes I wrote out in actual weight I used and the newer ones I gave percentage used.
