So basically Fiddlesticks is Death Prophet mixed with a tiny bit of Void Spirit, yes? Though truth be told, dota doesnt have point and click single target fear. Theyre all AOE exept Muerta.
it's nice to get the perspective of the game from a Dota player, as for the skin issue that's because tencent owns riot games and they tell them what characters to make solo skins for or who to have high priority for skin concepts. as for vanguard, all I can say is that it has gotten better compared to when it did brick systems, but it is still kernel level anti cheat. if you do genuinely want to give league a second try then I say go for it. though if you want to learn characters in a very rough way there is the aram (all random all mid) mode that will randomize who you play as. maybe I'll give Dota a try but I should quell my alt tab usage before doing so
I reinstalled League after editing this video lmao. My friends told me Vanguard had cooled down a bit so I took a risk, and my PC is all good. I do think you should try Dota. If you're coming from League, it's gonna be a rough learning experience. The only similarities is that there are three lanes with three towers. Everything from tower aggro and minion aggro to the item system and ward mechanics are completely different. It's a challenge to be sure, and if you join my Discord (link the description) I can help you bear this burden should you choose to undertake it.
@wilsonsticks ill give it a shot, again i would recommend trying the aram mode if your looking to play someone else but aren't sure who, this way you don't have to worry about who you should try as it'll be random but just imagine no neutral area (jungle) and everyone is put in the mid lane. it's a fun game mode personally and it can help figure out if you like someone that you hadn't really thought of before. (also dw there is a reroll system, max of 2 per person, to help not make every game feel like pure luck all the time)
also fun fact, fiddlesticks isn't the scarecrow, it's actually the thing inside the cage in the chest (which happens to be a demon, the first of ten demons to be more precise. I'm a big league lore guy and some of fiddlesticks voice lines are related to the lore, though usually for other champions)
@wilsonsticks lmao, though the interaction with other people's lore is interesting, i know there's interaction Annie and mf (miss fortune) with, upon fiddle killing mf (I think on kill), fiddle screams "Sarah, SARAH!" which is mf's real name and was the last words her mother said before Sarah watched gp (gangplank) kill her mother
That costume looks like it'd be hot af to wear inside the house, haha. Fiddlesticks is such an iconic champ even after a rework, I feel like he's responsible for bringing so many weirdos to League, and they're usually the people like myself who continue to crawl around playing off-meta builds in normals. As a League player (I'm a Fizz main but I play a lot of the stranger champs like Shaco, Teemo and Ivern), there are a few Dota champs that definitely made me want to play the game. Slark, Visage, that pangolin guy who's name I can never remember. But I always found that League skills don't really translate super well to Dota for some reason, and the flow of a match in Dota can be a lot harder to understand for those unfamiliar with its intricacies. In the end I think what keeps bringing me back to League is the superficial stuff such as the way certain items work and the expressiveness of the champions and their cleaner designs...but then there's the anti-monster favoritism which kind of haunts all the cooler champs in the game. I don't mind them getting less skins but I hate seeing Kai'sa in every major cinematic like holy cow, show us some different characters for a change.
That's another big difference between Dota and League. Dota has 13 human characters depending on how you count. Everyone else is a troll or a fishman or a demon or something like that. It helps differentiate a lot of the characters as well. No two can be mistaken for another. When it comes to characters in games, I always choose non-human characters. I play games to escape reality. I already know what being a human is like. Why on Earth would I want to be one in a fantasy setting? Let me be something else.
i also played LOL between 2009 and 2012 because there was no Dota, otherwise Dotaplayer from 2004 until today!
