As far I know, Zues arcana is one (probably the first) arcana that has an Item Effect, and its BlinkDagger! This might be an expensive take, but pairing Arcanas with the appropriate Immortal items works and fits perfectly in visual, skill effects and lore. a perfect example for this in the Video is CMs arcana paired with her immortals that go along the lore of her Arcana. Drows lackluster Gust can be beautiful with her Immortal item
I love my techies arcana with a purple prismatic gem with the "Bobmtrails and Broomsticks" item set, makes them feel like a whole new hero and makes ME feel like not a total goblin for picking them and ruining a day for 9 other people lol
Yes, and Valve should make an effort to fix it. If they can pour time and resources into Crownfall, they can pour time and resources into modernizing the spell effects.
Drow's face was completely different early in Dota 2. It was much less stereotypically pretty; it was more rounded with bigger features and also she had a face tattoo of sorts. Not ugly, she looked . . . normal, I can't really explain it. It was unique to her and very recognizable. Valve slowly changed her to be more immediately appealing. The result is generically pretty albeit forgettable face. Her arcana is well-made but just another edgy hot girl in the pile. Her deeper voice has a chill to it that sadly doesn't match her face at least not for me. Honestly she's too pretty to be acting this badass. I get how none of this would register with fans who never saw her original design.
Yeah that's totally understandable. I think the over prettiness of the arcana could be fixed with some facial scars, or red veins around her eyes where the Mask of Madness impacted her physically. The little blood splatter on her face does a terrible job of making her seem badass where a scar would've worked so much better. You have a good point about her old model btw. Her new face is a lot less outstanding now, and I wish Valve kept those features in the remodel.
Good video i wasn't expecting the cm arcana to be mid but i have a soft spot for it. I think having set compatibility could be a score 1-5 that adds to it. Its black magic how everything looks so good on her.
Waiting for part 2!!! Spectre main here. Also i think you should also consider the 2nd styles of arcanas in the design aspect. Personally i think drow's and spectre's 2nd style is just so much more visually appealing than the former.

Techies has Prismatic Gems so you can customize the color in any way you want and I think it is cool AF. I love the arcana and actually use it but ever since that Elephant Mount Immortal item was released it is so hard to justify not shooting bananas
Don't forget that Techies has been completely basterdized to their original concept, it's why the Arcana has weird mismatching animations, and lacklusters effects. Originally the Techies arcana had an effect for Land Mines, a kill counter on Suicide Squad, Attack! similar to Legion's duel counter, a custom model for his Remote Mines and custom particle effects colored to what prismatic gem you had on the Remote Mines explosion, not to mention that Techies also had an UI element showing a laughing Techie on an enemy's screen when they step on a Land Mine, which was forgotten about in 7.00 with the port to Source 2. It was a much better, and more meaningful arcana back then than it is today...

I think not having a voice filter is a good thing honestly, like there is no reason for CM to have one. Its not like she becomes some edgy half-demon with Arcana equipped like Legion Commander for example 😅

When you buy an arcana, you should get new animations, new spell effects, new spell icons, a new visual design, and a new voice filter, if not new voice lines entirely. If any of those aspects are missing from an arcana, it just feels like I'm wasting my money

It has one of the most unique things in it back then. If you died to his mines or ulti, you would have little teachies on the side of the screen poping up and taunting you by laughing at you. Yes, and I daresay it's time for us to expect more out of Valve. If they have the time and resources to pull off a lore event with fully detailed minigames and pages upon pages of dialogue and making comics, SURELY they have enough time and resources to fix the Techies arcana. For $35 you don't even get a full set of spell effects. It's a borderline scam.
really dislike exclusive skins. and of all the arcanas drow is my least favourite wouldnt use it if i had it. the crossbow is way too large and the walking animation is silly
True! The exclusivity of the recent arcanas is very stupid in my opinion. People are literally willing to give Valve money for these things, but since they weren't playing during the timeframe/didn't have money to spend, they are locked out of it forever.
@@wilsonsticks to be fair, some exclusivity goes away from these items. Like WK arcana was in recent Frosivous event or how you can get almost every persona from other treasures. I think only DK and Mirana is not available to the purchase. Well, and PA persona is in Collector's Cache, which is also limited.

Ginormous crossbow doesn’t fit with stealthy archer theme. Attacking and walking animation feels like a joke. Too bad it uses weapon slot.
