Love Jane's skierg technique. I Nordic skied for 15 years as a junior and I have the back injuries to show. As much as I love my sport, the traditional 'nordic'/concept2 technique of 'hands to the pockets' isn't great for anyone looking for general fitness. Why? Because it focuses entirely on hip flexion and an internal rotation of our shoulders. This is a problem given that modern life has us seated and hunched. So many people are trying to reverse these two patterns and sticking by a technique because it's in alignment with a sport you don't do seems kind of crazy to me. Massive thumbs up Eric and Jane. Keep up the great work
As someone who rows, and has never had any advice about the Ski-Erg, I love this video. Slightly alarmed by the over-head motion of one of the users though....
I'm a 5'1 female with long arms. lol I just started using the skierg and feel like I'm not being efficient. What do you recommend for the vertically challenged? Do you have a video?
The question is if one is using the SkiErg for fitness training, or Nordic ski training. Jane’s technique is fitness. Concept2 presents it as a Nordic trainer. And they emphasize it is a trainer, not a simulator. ua-cam.com/video/AVLE3Od5hOQ/v-deo.htmlsi=EhEsGSD4kTFrflKA
bad technique and the machine is designed for skiers, so the movement of the hands at the bottom should be circling the hips and not into the ground at knee level
Oh my god - horrible technical advice. She can´t ever have been on skis. Why would you ever use a skierg for anything else than try to simulate cross country skiing as much as possible. She is definitely energetic and seem very nice but she should stay away from giving advice on how to use skiing ergometer.
At 3:45 and then again at about 4:27 she acknowledges that what she's coaching isn't a cross-country technique. She's using the skierg for another purpose.
Why wouldn't you? Where's the rule the skierg can only be used to simulate nordic skiing? Don't be daft. It serves other purposes like general fitness.
The Skierg movement itself isnt the right tool for CCS. Not specific enough according to an estonian study. You would ruin your technique with too much skierg. So why should 95% of the people using it (non-skiers) adhere to it then

1:20 best technique in the whole video. The "choach" made this man worse at the end
Jane's charisma is remarkable. She has all these people enjoying themselves and learning the skierg technique at the same time.

Aint no way you would do this without cross country skiing in mind
Hands to pockets not to knees.
If you want buns of steel, seriously use a skierg!

Force curve shouldn’t look like a rowers...not the same
How should it look?
I am noticing a sore elbow. What can I do to prevent this ?
This lady is nice but totally clueless..she will get people having more injuries than anything else..geez!
