Clinton thomas wisest words ever spoken.. I'm glad your in my life. Now lets open these peoples eyes hearts and mind aswell as their pockets!!!
Without cultural changes, not much will change. It seems that not too many young people want that culture to change.
I lived in Oakland & I lived in Detroit and it's like everybodys proud to tell you this but nobody really wants to live there. And so it's not about the love because the love is there but the violence and , poverty as well as the disenfranchisement of society that exist which causes such discontent amongst corporate or mainstream America.

One of several videos I’ve watched today about the problems in Oakland. Suprised to see the very apartment building I had live in for 5 years in this video and that it’s abandoned now. There was so much drug activity and other seedy business going on in and around that building. Probably why they finally boarded it up.
Oakland California. We need 2 make change 4 all r kidz m family
RipNenyola Oakland9800 bb?
Three intelligent young adults. Just a suggestion, but they need to join the legal side and start turning in the Hardened criminals . That would help us all that suffer with them, it is a war out there. God Bless

Oakland is scary and it sucks, but what can you do...just don't start no stuff won't be no stuff....watch where you go after hours and be aware of ur surroundings...if shit jumps off get the fuck out of the way....Right now we have a disgusting homeless problem that is worst than the violence..
The homelessness is getting out of control, They literally have campsites everywhere! Its a shame having thousands of people coming to Oakland from all over, to watch The 'almighty' warriors Play only to put a Blind eye to the hundreds of Homeless people just outside of the arena! And it seems Nobody is acknowledging it. We need a solution and fast

Great conversation.
To shooting, homicides, and robberies in oakland, you need a mayor like Giuliani, never a black liberal mayor, no exceptions ( death penalty for drive by's , for killings) especially for cop killers, OLD SCHOOL OPD, and stronger shoplifting laws!! FROM A PROUD BLACK CONSERVATIVE, A VETERAN25YRS IN LOSS PREVENTION- LAW ENFORCEMENT. BLUELIVES MATTERS!!!
Yes yes yes I am a championship winner forever always best ever

Hit the books and not the streets
It's ugly in the field
any man who says he is not afraid of being shot at is a liar. The thug dips his head down when they ask how many times he has been shot at, Thats a sign of emotional submission. Im sure he is up playing himself. pity for such weak people.
2149marine just cuz you happen to be afraid of getting shot, don't paint everyone with the same brush. as a (now) non-active gang member, i can completely relate to how that youngsta feels. You can't be afraid of getting shot or shot at when you're in the field, and the constant exposure, your participation in those typa activities and the accumalation of those typa experiences results in a classic case of what's called 'systematic desentizisation' of fear. The first time i was shot at, i was stucc on the ground hiding behind a bush and felt like if i moved i would get shot. in other words, frozen with fear. The 10th time, i had my eyes locked on the shooter and was intelligently attempting to dodge the bullets. no fear, just survival instincts. there's been times when i was armed myself and i stood my ground and returned fire. a couple of times i tried to wrestle with the assailant and take his gun, as he was about to shoot, and both times it saved my life even though i was shot in the process one of those times. I ain't tryna say this youngsta is so unafraid of getting shot that he welcomes it or doesn't care if he gets shot or killed, my point is that you become mentally conditioned to not react with fear because that's how you survive, and when you are living in that environment and involved with the life, it desensitizes your fear. Each time i got shot, i reminded myself not to panic. Fear will kill you faster than any bullet; your assailant's fear that makes him so quick to shoot (like your average police officer nowadays) and your own fear that makes you panic in a life or death situation. i was luccy enuff to escape that environment and make something of my life, but my lil homies is still out there in the field with that same mentality and most have accepted the idea of not living to see 21. Facts
He was acting tough for the camera.
This is like lunching all over again.

These young adults seem like the did the school work
So cops killed her brother just because he was sleeping.
it starts at home. the parentscteach them to be punks.
It starts where the home is..
if a child is raised in a rebel stronghold, that child will become a warrior..
if a child is raised in a radical fractional sect then that child will become a hardcore fundamentalist..
if a child is raised in a war torn nation, that child has to want to survive..
its not the parents, but the environmental generational factors that raised these socially economically deprived children. The one thing that resonated with me was a need to survive. Not I have to or had to, but I must..
using the options available to their knowledge. Which is why these programs need to start early before these children turn 10. To let them know all available options that are available to them, and not just what everyone around them is doing..
Everyone is looking for a way out, but remember some will be fundamentalists committed to the environmental generational social economic deprivation that has a stronghold on the community through lack of information..
These children all needed materials that many take for granted. With no options on how to obtain such things..
Maybe a list with places to wash clothes, get a meal a day, access to books, learning skills towards reading comprehension.
If the excuse is that all resources are available to everyone, let it be known. The local media has a duty to the public to publish a list of organizations that help with the things listed. Everyday, every hour. That is a start in the right direction. All things considered, one has to choose. Also, One needs to know all information before making an informed decision. Otherwise we have a never ending cycle of a downward spiral.
I am not interested in the problem so much as we know what it is already, Let's get to the Solutions!
actually there's no one home to teach them at all.
OG knows what it is. Karen brought nothing to the conversation
