  • This television news program is about police brutality in Oakland, California, 1974. The narrator talks about how the town was over half black in the 1960's and the police force was all white, and how blacks were generally treated with disrespect. Some of the policemen interviewed say they were hired as super cops and did not want to change the way things were run. Changes were implemented, blacks were hired, and blacks in the community were beginning to feel a change as older policemen were told to be less aggressive or be fired. An Action Review Panel was set up to review police-community relations. Several incidents resulting in arrest of blacks and charges of disorderly conduct were heard by the panel. Speaking in this film is Ron Dellums and police chief, George Hart. The song, "Hey, You Old Oakland Town" is heard as the camera scans streets and black community of Oakland. @@TheFinancialFrank why? Look up “sister cities” and then look up the sister cities of Detroit. 1 of them is Qatar” or some shit. I’m from Philly , one of our sister cities is a placed in Italy. American cities are never sister cities with each other. It’s always an American city and a “foreign “ city. Not to be confused with “twin cities “. Now , America cities can be similar but black history and /or southern roots does not make cities “sister cities “.

    This ia sad. Im from Oakland. I grew up with loving people. Caring men and women. The hustlers had their area where they did their business. Not up and down the street like they do now. I miss how Oakland once was then. We had people who owned their own businesses The Lincoln Theatre Thift shops cafes laundry mats Record shops Piano teachers voice teachers doctors MDs Dentists and shops all up and down 14th streets. Integration and Urban renewal destroyed our economic base. So now the police is bragging about the great job they are doing.

    As a Bay Area resident and 52 years old this is a great video. Citizens organize and say "off the pigs" and this video is a great way to see how that lands. The issues w marxism and progressive ideas is seemingly nothing gets done. Oakland is a failed urban experiment. The grift and corruption gutted the place. Sanctuary it def is not

    The officer who has a 'small man' complex was 5 feet and 8 inches tall which isn't short. Maybe 5 feet and 3 inches is short for a modern day male but 5'8" isn't.

    What is agra-business?😏😒

    • @ArchimedesDaVinci
      @ArchimedesDaVinci 3 роки тому +3

      Agribusiness as in _"agriculture business"_ . The large scale industrialization and commercialization of agriculture as opposed to smaller family operated farms into more efficient vertically integrated _"factory style"_ corporate farms harnessing the technological advancements in automation with the need for *fewer workers for labor intensive processes* while increasing the overall productive output of arable land through higher crop yields. This serves to simultaneously reduce prices for consumers as farms can now make smaller margins of profit per unit of output but make up for losses by selling larger volumes of goods while expanding newer and niche uses for surplus food products which might otherwise go to waste. Which is why, you and I pay for 10% ethanol as a fuel additive to our gasoline, utilize high fructose *corn* syrup as a cheaper alternative to actual sugar, and pay roughly $0.59 cents per pound of bananas year round even though bananas are grown in Central America and imported into the US. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agribusiness Here's an interesting tidbit of information if you ever want to impress or _potentially disgust_ your friends, family, and coworkers. If you read the listed ingredients on many of the food items which you buy such as cereal, ice cream, cookies, or bread and find an ingredient listed as *CELLULOSE* which is added as thickener, you can astonish them with the knowledge that cellulose is just an industry term for a food additive made from actual *SAWDUST* . www.menshealth.com/nutrition/a19525743/foods-that-contain-sawdust/ *31 Foods You Eat Regularly That Contain Sawdust It turns out this disturbing ingredient is everywhere* _Bon appetit_ !
