If I remember right, this was the movie debut for the Rock. And the film Scorpion King was based of this & is a prequel taking place a long time prior.
If you want another (admittedly small) dose of Oded Fehr (Ardeth Bey in the Mummy movies), you might consider Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo. I'm not recommending it lightly. The main guy is Rob Schneider and the humour might annoy or outrage you. But it has those few minutes of Antoine 🤩

This sequel always gets a lot of criticism, especially for the poor CGI (which is understandable). But as a sequel plot-wise I feel it tips all the boxes. It brings back everybody that can be brought back & expands their stories & the arcs continue, as any good sequel/continuation should. And even if it was short-lived, killing off Evie was a ballsy move! I have seen this film plenty of times, saw it twice in the theater when it was fresh, & I bawl my eyes out as Evie is dying. Even if I know she will be back soon it is the reaction of her family that kills me, especially Rick's. And that is the pure heart & soul of these films, the STRONG emotional ties & chemistries between the characters. The chemistry between Brendan & Rachel is fantastic, we truly believe Rick & Evie are very much in love. So, toss mummies & magic & whatever at us, as long as that love story is there we can except almost anything. The third film unfortunately looses all this by re-casting Evie & with someone that isn't even near Rachel's charms. That is why it's hard to care anymore. But for the first sequel I absolutely do care. SW used to be the exact same way, too, before Disney took over & actual relationships between characters (as well as lore) no longer was a priority for them.
Yeah the first 2 have been great and you're right the chemistry between them is amazing. Makes me kinda iffy on watching the 3rd, But I will anyway lol
Yes the Cgi on the Scorpion king was really bad in this movie but the movie is still a great fun watch.
The Scorpion King movie is part of the Mummy Universe, but it has it's own story line.
There are five Scorpion King movies, The Rock only is in the first movie. That one is pretty decent, the sequels not so much,
I just saw the first 3 and that was enough for me.
Other fun adventure movies i liked are the duology Romancing the Stone/The Jewel of the nile
And the 80's version of King Solomons mines and it's Sequel Allan Quartermain and the lost city of gold.
Everyone agrees the CGI for the scorpian king is bad ,I dont know why as the rest of the film the cgi is pretty good. I love the next one ,it is a shame they had to recast Evie but it is what it is and if you can look past that 3 is a really good film and story.
