And on the opposite side, O’Connell was telling Evie to leave him for her safety while Imhotep begged for help and was willing to put Anck-su-namun at risk. The contrast between the couples in that moment was great
Ngl, i actually felt really bad for Imhotep at the end. Anak-su-Numan was pretty much the real villain in this movie. She USED Imhotep so that she can have all the nice things, and then she ends up abandoning him to die so that she can save herself. But she did meet her karma by falling into the scorpion pit. If you didn't notice when Evelyn fell off the boat , that's what happened to her in the past life as well. Nefertiri inadvertently leaned too far over the edge of the balcony and fell to her death. Despite having perished, Nefertiri's soul was cast adrift into the currents of time to be reborn once fate deemed the time right to revenge herself upon Anck-Su-Namun. This is why Evelyn is a reincarnation.
I love the fight between Rick and Imhotep, as well as the one between Evy and Ankhsunamun. I also really felt bad for Imhotep when Ankhsunamun ditched him inside that pyramid...as least she met her karma by falling into that pit of scorpions. Autism fueled observation/side note: That snake that Evelyn kicked towards Rick is actually a milksnake. You can tell by the band pattern (red, black, yellow). If the band sequence was red, yellow, black, they'd have something to worry about, because that's the band pattern of the venomous coral snake. Also, real scarabs were actually just dung beetles, who actually lay their eggs in balls of giraffe, elephant and rhinoceros dung. Two bonus fact/opinion tracks: I think Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be impressed with Evy because of that sai twirl. When Jonathan says "Hang on, Rick!!", My first response every time is "I don't think he was planning to let go"

The last time I saw someone react to this movie, someone in the comments called out the beginning scene where the columns fall like dominos being a nod to the first movie when Evie knocked down the bookcases in the library. As many times as I've seen this movie, I NEVER thought about that at all, LOL!! The CGI of the Scorpion King isn't great for sure but that was 23-24 years so it could totally be redone with the advancement in software for an anniversary re-issue. I think that because it was the Year of the Scorpion THAT was the reason why Evie started having the visions plus the fact that she was in her "home" so all the "stars" were aligning so to speak. PYGMIES!!!!!!!! One of the best scenes, LOL! You feel bad for Imhotep at the end because EVERYTHING he did was for the love of Anck-su-namun, only to be betrayed by her in the end, so he willingly lets himself be taken to the underworld. The first time I watched it, the double-decker bus smacking the mummy into the tunnel entrance made me crack up laughing. The friends I was watching it with looked at me like I was insane - apparently this is supposed to be scary, not funny? Lol, nope.
Alien/Aliens is a lot like these two. The first is more 'horror' while the second feels more action adventure. It's works for me, like Rick O'Connell's manners.
Happy belated Birthday, BJ Like you, I was fascinated with Egypt and archaeology. Imhotep was real famous back then; unlike the movie he was not a high priest, but a really smart architect ahead of his time. He designed a pyramid for Pharaoh Djoser and was revered as a God (which was almost rare for anyone back then who wasn't the Pharaoh). Anck-Su-Namun is difficult to remember haha "AH-knock SUE na-MOON". They probably could have thought of an easier name in hindsight but her name was creative. Another thing that you and Asia were discussing at the end was how Evelyn was able to see into her past life. In the beginning when they were exploring the tomb, Evelyn mentions she had dreams of ancient times and the visions are happening now when is awake. Later at their house before being kidnapped, Rick said her dreams started at the start of the Egyptian New Year, the year of the Scorpion; which is implied by Imhotep is the only year where the bracelet can be used to find the Oasis. Evelyn is deeply connected to her past life but I theorize her visions would not have started all of the sudden if it wasn't the Year of the Scorpion.
You should watch Angel-A. Angel-A is a 2005 French romantic fantasy drama film written and directed by Luc Besson and featuring Jamel Debbouze and Rie Rasmussen. That movie made me cry at the time. Still does. You need to see it!
Nice reaction. The third in the series is not bad, not the best, but it's entertaining. The remake with Tom Cruise is not connected to this trilogy, it was part of a Monsterverse of movies by Universal Studios. It's entertaining but very different. Please do watch The Scorpion King, a spinoff from this movie series. It's so much fun.
there is a 3rd called The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor only thing is they changed the actress of Evelyn but the new mummy is played by Jet Li i personally think it's still worth the watch💯💯
Brendan Fraser was actually a huge defender of Dwayne Johnson, and the reason he was cast in this movie The Rock actually made a post in favor of Brendan shortly after he made bis return to Hollywood with The Whale. Brendan Fraser was put through a lot unfortunately.
@mytv89626 Dwayne said in an interview a lot of people including casting directors were cynical and betting against him as an actor, but Brendan vouched for him.
@@spencergrady4575 Johnson was hired for his appearance. He has 2 lines tops, in Egyptian, eats a scorpion and comes back as CGI. Not exactly the need for a Shakespearean actor there. Brendan says a lot of things that aren't true, in his interviews too. How do you "vouch" for someone you've never met. They met on the red carpet. There's a video. Do you believe your own eyes and ears, or what an actor says? Brendan doesn't even watch wrestling.
I think there needs to be a fourth mummy film with Brendan Frazier and Rachel Wiess and it should be set in South America Peru with an Aztec or Inca or Mayan mummy
Love this film. Cheesy, funny and pretty intense in parts! That moment near the end where Anck-su-Namun leaves Imhotep behind is actually heartbreaking for him, even tho he's the bad guy for both these films, it still makes you feel for him! P.S. There is The Mummy 3: Curse of the Dragon but with no Rachel Weisz. It was a terrible cash-grab movie. The Mummy with Tom Cruse is a different mummy movie.
Ankh-su-namun, the name was inspired by the real life Ankhesunamun, the wife and halfsister of king Tut (Tuthankamun), she was the daughter of Akhenaton and queen Nefertiti. The reallife Imhotep was the master ingenieur of King Djoser and the builder of the first pyramid, the step pyramid of Sakkara

The first time I watched it, the double-decker bus smacking the mummy into the tunnel entrance made me crack up laughing. The friends I was watching it with looked at me like I was insane - apparently this is supposed to be scary, not funny? Lol, nope.
Happy Birthday BJ!
The actors face when she leaves him to die is heartbreaking. Amazing performance by all.
Alien/Aliens is a lot like these two. The first is more 'horror' while the second feels more action adventure. It's works for me, like Rick O'Connell's manners.
Happy belated Birthday, BJ
Like you, I was fascinated with Egypt and archaeology.
Happy bday man!!! Been following yall for yrs. You enjoy your day and night cause it’s not guaranteed but when it’s earned it’s priceless.
“Why he sound like Master Shredder” 😂🤣
Happy Birthday B.J! You are loved!!!!
HAPPY BDAY BJ!!
The Third movie "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor", with Maria Bello as Evelyn O'Connell; has Jet Li as the titular character.
I've watched this movie so many times, But you guys made it so much better! ❤
Yes there is a third one, and a spin off set of movies on the Scorpion King which is up to number 5!!! The Tom Cruise one is separate
Have the whole set of this series. Love history of Eygypt. Love the Story line and the connection too the story.
The third one with the Dragon Emperor was my favorite of the trilogy.
Yoooo Happy Birthday to Asia's man, Asia's baby daddy, Asia's husband.... Monsieur BJ🎉🎉🎉
Wishing you good health and peace for your new year 🙏
Happy Birthday B.J.! You also mentioned Brendan Being a caveman and he was in the classic 90's comedy Encino Man.
You should watch Angel-A. Angel-A is a 2005 French romantic fantasy drama film written and directed by Luc Besson and featuring Jamel Debbouze and Rie Rasmussen. That movie made me cry at the time. Still does. You need to see it!
Happy Birthday BJ!!! CELEBRATE!!!
Alien Abduction 2014. This movie was based on actual events and it was filmed from a kids camcorder. It'll make you rethink your religion. 😅
Happy birthday BJ!🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳 imagine the betrayal Imhotep felt when Anak Sunamun just left him like that..she did him dirty!
Happy Bday BJ 🎉🎉🎉 wish you all the best! Happy 30th 🥰
Great reaction!! There's the Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and then the newer Mummy with Tom Cruise
Brendan Fraser was actually a huge defender of Dwayne Johnson, and the reason he was cast in this movie
The Rock actually made a post in favor of Brendan shortly after he made bis return to Hollywood with The Whale.
Brendan Fraser was put through a lot unfortunately.
Brendan and Johnson never even met until the premiere. Stephen Sommers cast Johnson.
@mytv89626 Dwayne said in an interview a lot of people including casting directors were cynical and betting against him as an actor, but Brendan vouched for him.

Johnson was hired for his appearance.
@@mytv89626 I literally said that DWAYNE said this in an interview 😂 imagine being so pressed about this

I don't like liars. They're dangerous.
I think there needs to be a fourth mummy film with Brendan Frazier and Rachel Wiess and it should be set in South America Peru with an Aztec or Inca or Mayan mummy
Rick O'Connell is the action hero I wanted to be as a kid.
Love this film. Cheesy, funny and pretty intense in parts!
That moment near the end where Anck-su-Namun leaves Imhotep behind is actually heartbreaking for him, even tho he's the bad guy for both these films, it still makes you feel for him!
P.S. I wouldn't bother with the rest of The Mummy films, they're just not worth it imo.
Happy Birthday BJ❤❤🎉🎉
The Jungle Gremlins are Cannibal Pygmies, humanoid mammals that worshipped the Scorpion King and would kill any intruders of the Oasis they lived in.
Imhotep was a actually an architect in ancient Egypt. Nothing what the movie portrays 😅
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BJ 🎉❤ Yall are my favorite reactors. Prayers and blessings to you and your family.
I’m here at work watching the reaction to this. Another one of my favourites growing up
There is a 3rd one with jet li. The emperor's tomb or something like that.
Watch the 3rd one it doesn’t get enough love!
I believe the movie "The Mummy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" of 2002 is the final play on this. Then there is "The Mummy from 2016 with Tom Cruise. But one that fell into the era of This trilogy is "The Scorpion King". I liked it for that time and I think you would too
There was a movie that came out of this called The Scorpion King ( 2002) starring Dwayne the
Rock Johnson.
Happy Birthday BJ!! 🎉🎂 Hope your day is great! Yes they have 2 more movies after this one. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (I didn't like it. The chemistry wasn't there with Rick & Evelyn since a different actress played her) and one with Tom Cruise is just The Mummy (2017). I liked that one.
The fight between Evie and Anck Su Namun was actually done by Patricia and Rachel, NO STUNT DOUBLES NEEDED. 😮
What always gets me is how much Jonathan actually helps but it’s always accidental 😂
If he hasn’t taken the stick, they wouldn’t have been able to defeat the scorpion king lol. He’s like the king of convenience and luck 😂😂
Been waiting on y'all to react to this one!!! Thank you for sharing!!! May God bless/protect, you and yours ❤
Lol you can tell asia be having pure curiosity and bewilderment. Then BJ with his jokes and responses. You guys crack me up lol
Brendan Fraser helped The Rock to obtain his first role in a movie. After this movie he played in The Scorpion King, a great movie, next to Michael Clark Duncan (R.I.P.). Maybe you will react to this movie too
Not sure about where you guys are, but regal is showing The Mummy next friday for its 25th anniversary
There is a third one, and no it's not the Tom Cruise one. You have to watch the third one to finish out the trilogy! Happy Birthday BJ!🤗🤗
Happy belated BJ, The Mummy with Tom Cruise is just a movie on its own .
