I met Lanny in the 80s when he was in ICW. I also met his brother Randy, but I actually had a couple of conversations with their dad Angelo Poffo. At the time, I had no idea that he owned the company or was in charge of anything. I just knew that he used to be The Miser. My conversations with him actually led to me being asked, by him, to introduce the wrestlers for that last two matches and ringing the bell. As an avid fan, it was the best day of my life to that point.

Could take insane bumps, got slammed from inside the ring to the mats outside, flat on his back, only other wrestlers who I've seen take insane bumps was Mick Foley & Owen Hart

When the audience/crowd hates the character you play, you know you are an outstanding actor.

"Did you know there are women of easy virtue?" Lol. Reminded me of a story my dad told me years ago. In the 60s he was a bartender at a black night club and he was popular because of his quick wit and charm. So the owner wanted him to be MC. My dad didn't want to be up on stage. So the owner tells him, "Every night half that audience is female. Most of those ladies come in to see the performers and they'll be awfully 'nice' to the MC if they think that will get them backstage where they can see the stars (Lou Rawls, James Ingram, David Ruffin, etc)." My dad was convinced.

Well, I’ve always enjoyed watching his matches, and of course his brother was one of the all-time greats and my personal favorite I disagree that he had one simple gimmick because he was also known as leaping Lanny Poffo and his acrobatics in the ring were amazing, and I was never bored watching him in the ring, and it was obvious that he was articulate and fun to listen to the genius gimmick was also fun thanks for posting this interview. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I always wondered why they never put him and his brother together in tag teams
