    I like this project a lot. Now I know if I get confused on what to do with 1 wood board I can now turn it into a soap tray. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

    Just came across your channel, I like little projects like this. I have a couple 1x4x8’s laying around that I wasn’t sure what to do with, now I’ll probably tear them down into a bunch of these little trays!

    Congratulations on a normal looking shop. I see so many that look like the operating room in a hospital that you can't believe they actually do any woodworking in them!

    Looks good. Make it from a better food safe wood and champers the edges and round the corners to take away the board look and finish it. Make two of them and you will have Sushi serving trays. Same effort for something totally different.

    • @HowYouCanMakeIt
      @HowYouCanMakeIt  5 місяців тому

      yes, I am still selling them however the quantity have dropped due to the season and economy. I have noticed a corrilation between my sales and the housing market and inflation.

    I've always wondered how to get my soap 1/2" closer to me without reclaiming any sink surface area. But if people want it enough to buy it, it's worth making :-)

    I have made about four of these wood projects around 10 inches long, and 2 different stains. I have a miter saw and router, so I was able to put something together that looks pretty good. Is this a soap platform or tray, or what is the official name for this item. And so you sell this on Etsy? Thanks for the video.

    Would have looked really nice if you stained it first, then did the routed edge, giving it a 2 tome effect. Just a thought.

      @@HowYouCanMakeIt Dumb questions perhaps-- the stamp that you used to put your name of the item- is that just a standard style stamp you can get t office depot etc or is it designed specifically for use on wood?

    How many on average do you sell in a month and are you finding they are still a hot item on Etsy? Thanks.

    • @HowYouCanMakeIt
      @HowYouCanMakeIt  5 місяців тому

      This item sold about 2 a day at the peak..now it sells about 1 a week. It all depends on seasons and when people are buying home gifts. When the housing market was hot I was selling more. Now that interest rates are high I sell less.

      @@HowYouCanMakeIt Thanks for taking the time to reply. What you said made me think. I am wondering if you or any of your subscribers have tried targeting real estate people? When you mentioned the housing market I thought of real estate agents who might want to buy a housewarming gift for their client. Just a thought.

    • @HowYouCanMakeIt
      @HowYouCanMakeIt  5 місяців тому

      That might a a good market, however I think they tend to want to have an item that is customized for their client. I have sold a few to a local gift shop that is also another avenue to look at. I am working on content for season 3 so be sure to subscribe if you haven't as you don't want to miss the next season. cheers.
