Yes, GREAT project! I’m going to need three for our house before I
can make them to sell.
Sounds good
Pls what did u use to darken your wood
early American stain. It is in the description.
I absolutely love your positive vibes.
thanks friend. be sure to subscribe to see more of my vibes :)
Fantastic!
Glad you like it!
I like this project a lot. Now I know if I get confused on what to do with 1 wood board I can now turn it into a soap tray. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
thanks, glad to help!
Just came across your channel, I like little projects like this. I have a couple 1x4x8’s laying around that I wasn’t sure what to do with, now I’ll probably tear them down into a bunch of these little trays!
Thanks, I am always wondering the same thing. I hope to have more projects soon...they take time to come up with :)
Great project
Thanks
Nice work, I gotta make a couple of these this weekend.
You should!
Looks like a fun project. Awesome =)
It was!
Congratulations on a normal looking shop. I see so many that look like the operating room in a hospital that you can't believe they actually do any woodworking in them!
thanks, I appreciate that...my shop is a messy working shop for sure.
Great project!
I made one today, however I need to make one more because I have two bathrooms before I put some of these soap trays for sale.
Sounds good
Oh man I love this, keeping it real showing mistakes, cause let’s be honest it happens all the time(except for cam I guess, for the most part)
thank you, I try to be as authentic as possible. Be sure to subscribe if you haven't already as I am planning on having some really great project coming out soon.
Nice simple project even I can make, New Sub
Thanks appreciate it
Nice 👍 subbed
Thanks for the sub!
Looks good. Make it from a better food safe wood and champers the edges and round the corners to take away the board look and finish it. Make two of them and you will have Sushi serving trays. Same effort for something totally different.
Thanks for the suggestion.
"Champers"? What?
Made a pile of these today. Thank you
Awesome
Are you selling any? Just wondering if anyone has had any success making money with them.
yes, I am still selling them however the quantity have dropped due to the season and economy. I have noticed a corrilation between my sales and the housing market and inflation.
I've always wondered how to get my soap 1/2" closer to me without reclaiming any sink surface area. But if people want it enough to buy it, it's worth making :-)
LMAO
:)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Reallllly???? Ok… let’s try this! I’m game.. GAME ON!!!!!
I sell a lot of them. Crazy I know.
👌👌👌
Thanks
What is the glue that you're using with the bonding spray?
I have it listed in the description
What do you use to seal them from the water?
You can use a clear enamel or oil based poly
Did you clear coat and with what thaks
Yes, this is what I used. amzn.to/3zZSIVB
I have made about four of these wood projects around 10 inches long, and 2 different stains. I have a miter saw and router, so I was able to put something together that looks pretty good. Is this a soap platform or tray, or what is the official name for this item. And so you sell this on Etsy? Thanks for the video.
Sounds great!
Great video !!! My question is what length do You set your chamfer bit on your router ? Thank you !!!
I just played around with the depth on a scrap piece of wood.
@@HowYouCanMakeIt excellent , thank you !!
anytime
And what is the condition of the towel bar after several months holding wet towels?
You need to apply an oil based poly to protect it
Would have looked really nice if you stained it first, then did the routed edge, giving it a 2 tome effect. Just a thought.
thanks for the suggestion.
@@HowYouCanMakeIt Dumb questions perhaps-- the stamp that you used to put your name of the item- is that just a standard style stamp you can get t office depot etc or is it designed specifically for use on wood?
it was designed online by uploading my logo
What are the cuts ? Couldnt find in description. Thank you!
here are the plans etsy.me/3qI1PoN
Go to time 2 :26. Left side screen it pops up.
What type of wood is that
Newzeland pine
How many on average do you sell in a month and are you finding they are still a hot item on Etsy? Thanks.
This item sold about 2 a day at the peak..now it sells about 1 a week. It all depends on seasons and when people are buying home gifts. When the housing market was hot I was selling more. Now that interest rates are high I sell less.
@@HowYouCanMakeIt Thanks for taking the time to reply. What you said made me think. I am wondering if you or any of your subscribers have tried targeting real estate people? When you mentioned the housing market I thought of real estate agents who might want to buy a housewarming gift for their client. Just a thought.
That might a a good market, however I think they tend to want to have an item that is customized for their client. I have sold a few to a local gift shop that is also another avenue to look at. I am working on content for season 3 so be sure to subscribe if you haven't as you don't want to miss the next season. cheers.
Are these still popular? I made 3 and havent even sold one yet 😢
Yes they sell slower in the summer months
ok, what's it called?
?
I don't get it. A small shelf to put stuff 1 inch off the top of the vanity?
Yep
I'm new to woodworking what is wood
it is newzland pine
The stamp though!!! Where, how, #takemymoney Where did you get this please?
I got the stamp online...just googled custom stamps.
Genius sir 😁
Thanks 👊🏻
LOL @ the people paying $18
yes + shipping
but doesn't wood get ruined with constant water running over it
I apply a poly coating that is water resistant
No poly? Good luck with that.
it is optional but recommended
You said one board, I'm not good at glueing nailing or cutting, thought I could do this one, not so much. Thank you anyways
👍🏻
I have already flooded Etsy with these so don't waste your time.
lol

No worries!
Me either really. I'm still kind of new to wood working stuff. It took me 2 months to build a 10 x 10 shed last summer. I'd do a little here and there but it was my first time building anything like that. I wanted to do it on my own to learn. Lol
we all start somewhere.
