Everytime I grow my hair out, I want a pixie cut again!! My hair has finally reached past my shoulders and its taking absolutely everything I can not to cut it again!!
I definitely can relate! My favourite periods are all grown or when I first cut it, the in between is endlessly nerve wracking!

HOLY FUCK 😭😭😭I've never cried so much in my life. Now I'm back to a super short, dark brown bob and I would give my first born to have my hair back. I had no idea how it got so long or when I became so "attached" but I am never touching my head again. 😭😭😭😭

No no no, it's really not too bad if your able to commit to having a trim in the back often.
I'm growing out my pixie and refuse to cut the back, a thing that is truly helping me through the awkward phase is curling my hair and keeping it out of my face. It makes hair look shorter so no one knows!

I decided to grow my pixie out about a month ago and it's driving me insane. I wanted to grow it out for the first time like last fall, but then I was getting impatient and chopped it all off again. Advice to myself and others: DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO THAT. It will make you even unhappier than before, and now I'm really motivated again. My goal is to get it where it was before I got the first pixie which is a little past my shoulders pretty much at my collar bones, but I had had bangs before that and growing those out made me freak out completely so I chopped it off.
I was pretty happy with that for a while, but then the ponytail jealousy occurred. Seeing all those girls with hair to their hips or even to their shoulders made me really sad, I could never relate to any of my friends because they all had hair at least to their shoulders. My best friend also has beautiful red hair naturally, and she is trying to grow it very long. So that motivates me a lot. Also, that might seem weird, but I really miss brushing my hair in the morning. I miss just lazily throwing it up into a ponytail and that's it, and the worst thing about the pixie cut was that I had to go to the salon and cut it every single month. I hated it because even though I like my hairdresser, I still spent a lot of money there and also it's pretty far away from my home so I had to drive like 45 minutes to get there, so it took a lot of time.
Just before I decided to pick up the growing out again, I bleached and dyed my hair turquoise and I think that really helped because I can see now that it is growing because I see the roots coming back and it will also give me something fun to do with my hair while it is in the awkward stage. I know everyone says that you shouldn't dye and especially not bleach your hair while growing it, but it's too late now and also I don't want to bleach it again if I don't have to. I will just try to have fun with different colors (always wanted to try pink, I'm really looking forward to that) and if I change the color every now and then, I will hopefully not mind the non-existent or very poor style of my hair as it is. And also I hope that I can grow it out to sort of an ombré when it's longer and eventually cut it off when it's long enough. Yay long comment nobody's going to read it but it was just good to motivate myself again.

But I've also always bleached mine and it did grow fast and fine so don't worry about that :)

The overgrown and untidy sideburns are what bother me, more so than the mullet :///
Argh everything is really awkward and uncomfortable but I think the mullet gets me the most! The other stuff I can try to hide with bobby pins most of the time :p
Exactly! I was exstatic when I first get my pixie, about 2 months ago. Unfortunately current situation does not allow me to go back to see hairdresser and the only thing I got at home is clippers to possibly trim it! But I am so scared, heeelp 😂 it's been driving me so crazy that I am considering to go "full Britney". I love my pixie tho.. I am hoping everything will go back to normal soon

Raquel, although I've watched a lot of your videos, this is my first comment. I'm considering a pixie cut for next year, after I donate my hair, so your series has been very helpful! I just wanted to add that there is a wig+extensions shop in Saldanha - Diamantino Viegas, next door to a skin, hair & makeup store by the same name. It's where I get most of my hair supplies - I've never shopped at the wig store but people are constantly coming in the shop, so I reckon it must be good!

I moved my part and i made pretty much all the difference.
when I had my pixie cut my hair was parted to the far right. The left part was in long bangs that reached underneath my ear and the right part was short. like maybe 5mm long at certain points.
I started growing it out in july and i've almost reached my bob now simply by moving my part like maybe about a cm to the left. If I part it the original way the shorter hairs are about 5cm now but they are nicely hidden under the longer parts that are now above it.
i've still got a weird gap going on at my right ear tho so I do have to pin the right side of my 'bob' back atm :)

I have curly hair and getting a pixie cut but i'm scared if I get it that it's going to turn into a afro.
Test the waters and also remember bobby pins help a lot to not feel like an afro... I also have (or had at the time, I had it relaxed) curly hair, though lose curls, it did feel kind of like an afro at times... I just straightened it when it got too bad and put bobby pins all over the place :p

I decided to let my hair grow out, and I hate it. It's been 5 months without cutting any inch, i have a mullet, I need a haircut to style it. I definitely loved my pixie, I MISS IT...but there's no way I'll spend money every month ahhaha I always thought my hair had a slow growing but you don't know how fast it grown until you have a really short hair. Wish me luck, I have a picture from pinterest, I hope it doesn't look weird on me.
you should try getting a trimmer (it's a small investment and worth it, there are a lot of cheap ones out there and you don't need nothing fancy to just trim the back yourself) 😉

I love your little bob. I cut my hair and I got a perm. I love it but my hairdresser cuts my layers to short it is a lot of stress to keep it nice now. I have a very layered bob.

Yes it is but they grow faster because of the summer. I hope before the wedding they will be longer

I usually use volumous ones that can kinda "hide" the bad hair ahah check my pixie hair styles video if you wanna see some! But like flower crowns and cat ears :p

Growing out a pixie cut can be a pain....I did it 2x with a hairdresser that did a two tone blonde...that really worked...this last time...not so much...I am way older 62 yes that's me there and the bleached out hair does not translate too well when you are old...:( I am trying it again...wearing hats and thank Goodness its winter...

My mum bleaches her hair too and I always prefer her with lighter hair rather than when she dyes it "dark blonde" because she thinks she's not hip enough for platinum ahah

My mom thinks I won't look good in a pixie cut but I have always wanted one and I want the freedom that women empowerment I just know that if I get a pixie cut I will be dancing around touching my hair being so happy I do that when I get something I have wanted for a long time and I know sometimes growing it out is a pain but there are things you can do when you grow it out I want the one where it's like shaved on the sides and there is like a long middle place in the front I'm not good at explaining it but I think you kind of get it so if anyone has any ideas about how I could make my mom let me have one I have had really short hair before I rocked it but not pixie short like below cheek bones short I have wavy hair and I know i will rock a pixie cut my mom thinks people will think I'm a boy and it won't look good with my round face but pixie cuts look good on people with round faces
I just wore my mum down until one day I just went "mum it's today, I'm gonna do it". She freaked out and nagged me about it for like 3 months but eventually got used to it... If it's gonna make you that happy, just DO IT! 😬 how mad can a mum get about hair!?

Rainbow Gold I'm growing out my pixie. I want to get a bobcut because they look like more of an artsy and classy vibe to me. I liked my pixie but after having it for a while, the shape of the pixie wasn't at it's best from the first day I got it. It was too expensive to get cut every month because my hair has a pretty fast hair growth.

Ooohh no I have the "mullet", and I kinda don't care (or am learning to not care) bc it's the part that is showing the real progress of growing it out... About 7/8 months into it but I did trim the back every single month to avoid a mullet :p

How to do u cut the back of ur hair when ur in the growing stage?? :)
When you're growing it out you have to trim the back to avoid the mullet, which I personally hate. You gotta let the tiny hairs on the top of your head to coincide the ones on the bottom and, for that, you have to constantly trim the back and maybe every once in a while all around at the bottom :)

I've been trying to grow out my pixie for like 5 months but it's pretty much stayed the same for 3 months!! HELP!!😭
Try biotin vitamins. They really help with hair growth (it helps with skin too, that's a bonus) also massaging your scalp for 5 minutes daily can also help a lot with hair growth. Hope this helped!
Yes, Sarmie is right on point! There are actually scalp massaging brushes that are really cheap and are AWESOME! Biotin is the bomb as well xx
also. what I learned is. Don't wash your hair daily, or with hot water. Leave it to get greasy at least once a week and make sure to rinse your hair with cool water :) It keeps your hair way more healthy and healthy hair grows so much faster :D
