The most brutal part was definitely the mullet stage :( yet I never wanted to cut it because I was scared that I was just setting myself back
Ugh the dreaded mullet stage. I totally get that you think you’re setting yourself back! It does seem like that at first but it’s deff worth it in the long run to just keep cutting off that mullet! I’d rather keep cutting off the rats tails and have it grow out somewhat nicely instead of having an uneven mullet for months ya know!

Heres a great tip. if you are the least bit depressed DONT DO IT
Maybe for some people that could be true! But it could also go the other way and look awesome and could make someone really happy and confident who maybe wasn’t so happy or confident before! Even when I hated my short hair I never hated it to the point where it affected me emotionally because at the end of the day it’s just hair that will grow back! Deff frustrating and annoying but something as little as hair should never make you depressed! Life is too short to think like that, and also too short to not cut your hair if you want to! But I do understand everyone is different and it could happen to someone. I’ve had my pixie for 12 years! It’s so hard to find a good stylist that can cut short hair properly. So I’m gonna grow it out..

Sooo i gotta follow;
• 6-8 weeks get a trim
• Cut the mullet!
• Air Dry, and don’t use heat!
• Use cute headbands etc.
• Actually learn how to style your hair
• Hair masks
• Coconut Oil
• Wet hair spray product thing?
• Moisturise scalp
• Massage scalp
• Dry Shampoo
• Drink and eat healthily - crap my entire diet is icecream, sweets and popcorn and the rare time i drink its full sugar fizzy drinks
• Multi-vitamin; vit c, b

Ik this is a old comment so I don’t expect you or the lady who made this to reply but if I’m currently at a mullet stage (I recently cut my short bob into a mullet huuu big mistake) but roughly how long do you think it would take for me to grow it out to my neck length (my mullets shortest spot is at mid ear)
@@alicia33.3 i did a mullet in may, cuz I personally love mullets but I couldn’t take care of it, after some time it became annoying cuz i wasnt cutting it at all, and in like august i think i cut the tail. Now its pretty long to how it was. It does touch my neck not so long but yeah. And its sept. Now but also my hair grows fast i think because i used to cut it at a lot when i cut my own bob and then bangs. So geah
I just decided to grow out my pixie for the THIRD time. It gets easier each time you do it lol, and this time I have some cute wigs to back me up so it’s all good. Best of luck to anyone else going through the hair growth journey!✌🏻
Tip for if you're growing your hair out. Let the top first grow and just cut or shave the sides a little but so it's easier and less awkward. The top can grow over the sides and you can grow the sides and back with less awkwardness.

i cut mine into a pixie when i was having a mental breakdown and loved it for the first few months. i really miss my bob length though and actually getting to style my hair. growing it out wouldn’t be so awkward if my hair wasn’t so straight tho
Honestly tho everyone wants what they don’t have! My hair is very wavy and I personally thought it wouldn’t be so awkward looking when it was growing out if it was more straight and less wavy! So it’s really just how you personally feel, all you can do is grow it back out to the length you liked and embrace the straightness haha. I think with short hair there is sooo much more versatility like with styling and curling if it’s straight vs wavy or naturally curly! But again, just personal preference 🤷🏻♀️ (but pretty much any popular pixie girl online who is known for tutorials like Sarah_louwho or Sarahb.h all have thin straight hair! I think it works better!)
I feel you. I had a chin length bob that i was in love with. But this was the first chance i ever had at getting a pixie, so i took it. Unfortunately, my hair is so thick and poofy that not doing anything to it wont fly. And i have to wear hats to my work place so it flips up and is stubborn. Ive been letting it grow for about 4 months and im halfway there. Once i get the bob back, im never cutting shorter than that EVER

dani i got mine re cut for a dance in January but i haven’t touched it since and the longest parts are right below my ears. i’m trying to keep my undercut tho, so not fading the back makes it look really awkward lmao

Don't worry, I FEEL YOU!!! I had to go through the same thing and it sucks so bad. You will get there eventually though, don't worry and don't be discouraged! Just go by my tips and it'll grow as fast as it possibly can!

I don’t know if I should grow mine out. I looooovvvee my pixie but I HATE not being able to do anything to my hair. I can't even put a headband on, or it just poof's up behind the hair band. I can't braid it bc it's too short. I can't dye it unless I do my hole head, Wich i am not aloud to do ☹️. But I like it bc I like being a bit different than most people, and I enjoy people pointing out that they like my hair, or that mine inspired them to cut theirs, or when people compliment it, etc. I don't knoooowwwww!!!!??? What do u think?
I literally had the exact same problem!!! I loved feeling different and all the compliments/comments that it gets on the daily! I also did like how my pixie looked on me too but I got SO bored with it. Especially being a hairstylist and I had nothing on my own head to play around and style lol. So I totally understand. If you’re that bored of it I would say start to grow it out, even if it’s just for a few months to change it up and then you can always go back to cutting it short and it’ll feel new and fun again!! You got nothing to loose 🥰 hope that helps

Serioussharpie Same! I am most likely going to grow a long Mohawk but still shave it on the sides to be different. But the Mohawk will be long hair so I can do stuff with it
I'm so glad my hair grows fast. My hairdresser is grateful too as I don't get precious about it. I went from waist length to pixie and she had manager come and chat to me. " are you sure? Has anything upset you recently? We can just make it shoulder length and let you get used to that." Great place, in the end all cut off with two stylists to make sure I stayed calm. My reactions constantly surprised them.

I just shaved my head (with a 8mm) and bleached it, after this Christmas season and going red for it, I'll be leaving it alone except for trims to keep it from looking like a mullet (no shade, just not in the mood for one) and hoping that I can stick to leaving it alone. The longest I have ever gone without dyeing my hair has been six months, since I was in third grade because my mom is a hair dresser. So I feel up for the challenge and a lot more equipped this time around to handle the awful grow out stages then when I was younger. Thank you for this, it was very helpful. :)
I cut my hair a month ago to cut off the parts that were damaged and dyed. Now i planning on never dyeing it again. Seeing this video really made my day better and it was super cool to see how long your grew in only a few months! I my pixie is kinda long, so I'm hoping by september that it will be about the same length you had by that time! Thank you for making this awesome video and thanks for not only making my day better, but also encouraging me to be healthier (for the sake of my hair haha)

Hahaha I was so excited when I was finally able to do a pony!! Once the top was long enough to put in a high bun I would do that sort of half up half down look which you can see in this vid ua-cam.com/video/2gC4Y-HDHYc/v-deo.html . I also always used to twist my bangs or braid my bands and loosely wave the rest of my hair! I have a few tutorials on how I used to style it (not the best quality but I was new at this whole UA-cam thing lol) if you go on my page and click “playlists” then click “hair” playlist there’s a few in there you can watch!!! Hope that helps 😁

@@mikamustdie633 totally get that! even if the cut isn't the most "edgy" I think you could try to style it like that in the mean time. I used to love the Redken Rewind paste. It gives your hair great texture and choppiness in the best way possible. I used to rub a glob in my fingers and rub it in certain pieces of my hair to create messiness. I think that could deff help you! You can get it at ulta or online

This is really helpful. I did a long pixie which wasn't bad. Liked it a lot. Then decided to go a bit shorter and the cut was going to be a bit different. She took WAY to much off. She got scissor happy and used a razor. I looked like a boy and HATED it. I never liked short but my husband said try it and of course decided myself to do something different. Yeah never again. I know remember why I hate super short hair! I can't style it. Though it's now long enough to pull back. Only problem is one side was shaved higher. But done right I can hide it pretty well. I'm staying away from heat (maybe once or twice a month), staying away from dying (growing out the blonde for now). I have a hidden mullet lol. Glad the top is longer. But I do follow all these tips myself. So thankfully I knew what to do. But you talking about it helps more.
Just a while ago I was so depressed because my hair got cut shorter than what I wanted... (I cut it into a pixie like 4 months ago and I loved it, I just wanted the same haircut) but now I noticed it doesn't look that bad, might as well embrace it😂 it's hair anyways, it will grow back

Im in the muller phase and wearing headbands fixes that issue!! With the back of ur hair being longer and the sides back it gives the impression ur hair is long!!

The worst stage 😪 by September you’ll have an inch or so more than what you have now depending on how fast your hair grows! Hang in there

I bleached my nice wavy hair and made it weirdly straight so I cut it all off and am now trying to grow it out! Hopefully it won’t be as awkward as it was when I cut it into a pixie when I was 12 lol

The only thing i would add to this video is what your hair looked like before the final cut in September. Otherwise this video is perfect. I loved the hair tips in the begining of the video and the pictures are really helpful. I'm growing my hair out myself. I had to shave my head last year due to some bad hair bleaching. I’m sorry that she was doing that. If she was just using thinning shears to thin out the hair no unfortunately you can’t make that thicker again. But it doesn’t effect your actual hair growing so it should be growing back in the same thickness it was! Just might take some time to grow back 😞😞
Mine is currently growing out it’s been probably like 6 months from my last cut and I’m about to get a trim on the mullet ish part so that it’s pretty even and I’m pretty much half way to longer hair again so yayyyy :)

I just got a really good wig that was the same style and color of my hair. It's to just under my ears. I want to grow it just long enough to put in a ponytail in the summer. Maybe shoulder length. I figure I have another 6 months or so to completely grow out. I liked my hair short but couldn't find a stylist after I moved to texas that could do my hair.
So abt the shampooing too frequently, what if we work in an environment where we need to shower and shampoo daily or sometimes before and after a shift?
I’m getting used to it…I’ve had hair at least at Bob length almost all my life, and had to cut it into a pixie after a chemical meltdown and a horrible salon experience. The good news is now my hair is so short that all the damage is gone - I just have a soft, virgin blonde pixie!
I didn’t like my pixie cut that i got back in november. I felt like it wasn’t myself. I haven’t trimmed it since March, but i probably won’t. How long will it take for me to grow it into a bob if it’s about to my mouth/tip of nose?
On average your hair should grow a quarter or a half of an inch a month! So id say in about 2ish months it should be getting there!
I had to cut my hair to a pixie because I over bleached and over dyed my hair. I'm 2 months into growing it out and I already have a mullet growing; Thankfully I have hairdresser coming in 3 week's. I can't wait to have my hair back i never realised how much I missed it until it was all gone :(

I’m transmasc and I showed the lady a completely different hair from a pixie and she somehow found a super short pixie from that 😭😭 I just need to get it long enough to fix into what I wanted!,
i followed brad mondos guide to cutting men’s hair and it helped me a LOT with wanting a more masculine cut! i got a pixie too lol but i just followed the guide in the video to shaving the sides and back in the video and left the top alone & styled it and i am so much more happy with it.

I shaved mine a year ago and I miss my hair so much. It’s grown back to the really awkward long stage. 😩 plus I have my natural colour back and it’s healthy. I took month to month photos too 😂 but this time I will not dye it or cut it. Not counting trims.

I cut my hair a REALLY short pixie because I wanted to pass as gender neutral, however, I have my prom next year so I’m planning to grow it out starting now!

I think both ways would look great, however I do totally understand! I was a bridesmaid in my cousins wedding and the day of when everyone else was getting pretty updos and looking so girly I felt very unfeminine and that’s right when I decided I wanted to grow it out again. However I do think if you’re going for gender neutral rocking the short cut at prom would be awesome! But do whatever will make you feel good and what you feel comfortable with 😊
i’ve had a pixie cut for over a year now and i trim it myself a lot because i love cutting hair, but lately i’ve just been cutting the back of it so that it’s not mullet looking
Yes perfect go you!! Love that you’re keeping up with it, it changes the growing out process completely. I personally wouldn’t trust myself cutting it, but it really isn’t a lot of hair that needs to be trimmed so if you’re confident with that then go you!!

Yeah, I went in for a trim when growing out a pixie and the stylist cut it right back into a pixie when I specifically told her her I wanted to grow it out! So I lost like 2 months of growth! so.... not getting it trimmed. No way.
Same!!! So annoying!! I feel like they all do this. I repeat myself over and over: DO NOT TOUCH THE TOP, JUST THE SIDES, but they get scissor happy and end up chopping all my length off the top.
Hi! Thank you for the tips. Im a really natural person. When i had my long hair, i wouldnt wash it everyday. But now i go to bed and wake up and my hair is a disaster. Im not sure how to even begin to fix it in the morning so I just decide to wash it anyway. Do you have any suggestions?

Hmmm If it’s ending up crazy because you’re sleeping on it weird I would say just be mindful of how you’re sleeping. I always used to lay on it flat and everytime I moved I would comb it out flat again because its so easy to get cowlicks and parts that stick up with a short haircut! It might seem inconvenient at first but your body gets used to it and that’s really all you can do! Hope that helps 😁
What i did is id target the part and rub water in and ruffle it up to try break up the mess lol then try stylr it with a gel etc or a brush even, if that doenst work with just water id do a quick shampoo ((:
You can buy shampoo that is designed to be used every day. It's much more gentle and doesn't strip your hair. I go to gym almost every day so I use that.
So I have curtain bangs at about my chin that I would like to grow to shoulder length. How long will that take? Six months?

I’m sorry tho it is so frustrating, just keep on growing it out and you’ll get there soon. In the mean time try to style it with accessories or loose curls and that’ll help it look cuter or more feminine
i found that with my hair 1x week is fine for shampoo
air dry and i just twist up in a wad unless i am actually going out and or pony w scrunchie
Yes that’s awesome that you figured out what works best for your hair!! I find it so crazy that some people wash their hair every day!! I could never. But I guess they’re just used to it! I usually only wash mine about 2 times a week
Do you have any product recommendations?
Does not coloring it include things like clenditioner with color? It washes out. I put it in occasionally have mostly gray hair now.
I have had short hair for a year and a half. I am a junior and I want longer hair for senior year. Do you know if rice water, castor oil, eggs and things like that work? Please let me know. I have not finished the video yet so I'll keep watching. Thanks!

I'm coming up to 5 weeks of growing out my pixie cut. I have no idea when i'll be able to get my haircut again since we're all on lock down because of the Corona Virus. I may have to resort to chopping off the mullet myself! I'm just wearing headbands at the moment to keep it all off of my face.
Now is the best time to be isolated lol! I wish I was under isolation when I had my growing out stage!! Headbands are your best friend until we can all get back out again! Stay safe ☺️

I cutted my hair one side shaved and one side is still long (Short enough that it cant touch my shoulders) I rlly like it, but i'd like to grow it long again like i used to have it, and i hope it won't look weirdly, so i hope it will work out :P
It’ll all work out ☺️ I had the side of my head shaved right before I cut it into a pixie and it was so annoying to grow out but I just parted my hair further over to cover some of it and just let it do it’s thing. Gel will be your bff lol! Hope it grows fast for you ! Or you can always cut it into a short cut to match like I did 😏

I'm trying to grow out my hair and I wash and shampoo everyday cause I workout everyday so I kinda have to so would it just be fine if I wash it without shampoo
I’m sure washing your hair probably feels like a necessity after working out but unfortunately it really isn’t good to do every day so yes I would say while you’re in this stage of growing it out stay away from the shampoo on an every day basis. I know some shampoos claim that they’re ok for everyday use but I personally disagree with that and at least while you’re trying to grow it I would just steer clear. Once you have your ideal length you can totally go back to washing as much as youre comfortable with 👍🏻👍🏻 (for now tho you can wash it with just water or even put the shampoo/conditioner on the ends so it feels alittle clean. Just try to stay away from the scalp) hope that helps!

I need to grow my hair out in 3 months cause my school would have a party that's really a big deal and I'm on a growing bob how do i do it
There’s no way to magically have it grow but follow the tips in the video and it will grow as fast as it possibly can!

I've had my pixie for about 2 years but I'm growing it out now and currently have a very uneven mullet going on and I want to die. I need to cut it even again god this is brutal. I loved my pixie most of the time, sometimes hairdresser's have done it terribly but a lot of the time it was done well so I will miss it but I do want to have longer hair again
Totally feel you! Just get the bottom evened out and you’ll be fine! Don’t be so down on yourself tho, There’s nothing you can do other than continuing growing it out so just stick with it and try to enjoy the different phases even tho I know it’s easier said than done lol. But you’ll get there soon! And if you grow it out and miss it short then you can always cut it again! Life is too short for boring hair :)
I'd go for using barber's clippers on the sides and back with scissors to trim the crown into a boy cut and search for hair growth subliminals to speed up the growth rate even if only temporarily.I'll have to give myself a boy cut when my own taper cut gets to that awkard mullet stage to get rid of that mop.
I don't regret i just miss having long hair like i look amazing i just fucking miss my hair it was 35 inches

I got my hair cut into a pixie back in October here we are in April and it’s still super short. I haven’t cut it sense then I don’t use heat products on my hair, haven’t been coloring it, not washing as frequent and taking sugarbearhair vitamins and don’t see no difference in hair growth it’s still falling out a lot while brushing or washing and my hair is fine. Is there any other tips you can give me I can’t get trims right now due to all the hair salons being shut down.
I recently got a scalp massager brush from amazon, it has silicone bristles and you just use it to scrub your head. I originally got it to get rid of buildup on my scalp but after doing it every time I wash my hair I’m convinced it’s made my hair grow faster! Stimulation to the scalp is a really good way to get the hair follicles moving so I would definitely suggest that!

Well first off I’m very sorry that you don’t like it and don’t feel beautiful anymore but you have to remember beauty starts from the inside! I know it’s hard to not feel beautiful but your hair will grow back! In the mean time try to find some hair accessories like clips headbands or hats. That could help mask it while it grows out

Is it ok to not trim im it all I don’t get split ends until like 4 months but I got a really short pixie in November I hated it it’s grown now but I’m currently rocking a mullet and longish hair at the sides and front so I might just leave it after all we are in self isolation and the mullet kinda suits me ya know
Hahah you’re lucky, now is the time to rock the mullet!!! I wish I was growing out my pixie during isolation 😂 If you’re home not doing any heat styling or coloring or damage you can deff push off the trims! Good luck with it

Just cut off my mullet last monday. I waited for a year to dye my hair. Now it's like a small bob. I kept on brushing it and I'm following my cousin's advice to shampoo my hair twice a week. Use conditioner always stuff like that. Wish me luck! I want to have a new look before I go to college this July 🤣

I’m so mad I cut my hair my hair was like 2 inches longer than hers and I wish I hadn’t of cut it. It looks good on me but you can put your hair in the pony tale ya know and I miss it baaaad. GUYS MAKE SURE THAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO CUT YOUR HAIR BEFORE YOU DO IT. SOMETIMES YOUR PIXIE IS HARD TO DEAL WITH SO MAKE A GOOD DECISION.

I have pretty much what you have in the May picture, but the stylist misunderstood what I wanted and cut the back wayyy shorter than the sides and my head looks like an oval now. It's basically a Karen cut on steroids, thank god for wigs.

Its a 10 did NOT work me...I have wavy / curly hair and it did nothing...Its been about a year and a half and my pixie wont grow past my shoulders :( Its upsetting because I used to cut and grow out my hair all the time and my hair would go from pixie to almost my bra line in less than a year and a half...I don't color or barely use heat....Maybe I am just getting old lol
