Cleric is absolutely the most versatile class. You can play as a pure Cleric all the way to 12 and be a powerhouse healer no matter the subclass, or you can mix them with a multi-class build and beef up most other class builds. Tempest Cleric and a Storm Sorcerer build has a truly terrifying damage output as a Thunder God. War Domain and Paladin is a Radiant Smite machine that can decimate almost anything by themselves and heal through it all. Light Domain I found to be best as pure Cleric and play it more as a back line caster. Quick tip. Getting the ring from Volo right away in Act 1 at the Grove is highly advised. It makes any heal you do auto Bless that character as well. Later in the build, once you get Mass Healing Word, you can cast that and bless everyone in the party all at once and its only a bonus action. Open your turn with a big spell or Spirit Guardians then hit Mass Healing Word even if no one needs the heals because it will still Bless everyone, even minions.
I think a dip into Wizard might be the biggest chunk of versatility you can get for one level. But other than that, 100% agree. Clerics can just fill every role in the group. You don't even need to multiclass any of them, and they'd all be viable party members. I was shocked by how much I loved the class, and I'm glad I tried it out.
@@PanicRolling How about a video which explains the difference in spellbooks usage between the different classes (if there are any), like sorcerer/wiz/cleric/bard, etc.?
I’d swear this guy by voice and accent was Tom Bodett from those Hotel 6 commercials. We all know the party doesn’t need dark vision when Tom DMs cuz he’ll leave the light on for you! Great video!
Im new to BG3 and to DnD as a whole. The way youve done these videos, the information and example gameplay in the background has given me the ability to really grasp whats happening in game. Theres a difference between just giving information and giving understanding if that makes sense. Thank you for these videos!
I'm new to a lot of this, myself. We're all learning this stuff together! Be sure to check the comments sections on the videos, because some of the other viewers have posted awesome tips and builds, as well.
This is the first time in a while that UA-cam has suggested a newer channel that I end up really liking! Definitely looking forward to whatever you cook up in the future.
One note about the Disguise Self/Charm Person combo on Trickery Clerics- since Charm Person can make someone angry for being enchanted by you in higher difficulty modes, if you first Disguise Self before you talk to them, then when the Charm wears off, they won't associate it with you and you won't get the penalty of them knowing you Charmed them.
Any time you have a free long rest (Restoration pod etc) burn any remaining spell slots to death ward people before you click the restore. Free 1 hp resurrection
More people should run cleric and cleric multiclass. An old adage in table top D&D is : You need the cleric, but the cleric doesn't need you. They are just fun.
Barkskin is a normally a Druid spell. It normally makes sense to cast it on yourself before wildshaping because concentration spells carry over so it’s great for Circle of the Moon druids since most wild shapes have less than 16 AC. It’s also great to use on Gale until he has enough magical gear to boost his AC. On a cleric it would be one of those spells that never make the hot bar.
Oh, absolutely. The spell certainly has uses, and I love the idea of it, lorewise. I just found it very rare that I used it. Those single-target Concentration spells really bug me lol. I compare them all against Haste, and most of them are doodoo in comparison.
@@PanicRolling Yup. I suppose that's why multi-classing into sorcerer for the twin spell metamagic is popular. You don't even have to have high charisma to do that; you just need to pick spells that you can' cast that won't affect spell-dc or attack rolls like shield, feather fall or fly.
Yeh I can't wait to get into the Sorcerer and Warlock. I'll probably end up making a comparison/contrast video about them and the Wizard. Multiclassing opens up a ton of options, some of which are very powerful. Some of them...like my 10th level Cleric with 2 levels dipped into Abjuration Wizard for a huge Arcane Ward...were less good. Sometimes a plan doesn't work out the way you imagined lol.
T.T I had such big plans for that build until I realized it was only going to stack up to 4. Having a 4 stack of Arcane Ward is no joke, either...but it wasn't worth the loss of a third Feat to me.
Hey, that's great to hear. The Cleric often gets overlooked, but they are absurdly versatile. A Cleric of some type would fit into any group, without issue.
My custom character is a Light Domain Cleric & I am running with Shadowheart as a War Domain Cleric. Your video was informative and entertaining. I appreciate it.
@@PanicRolling I am liking the Light Domain. It’s a nice balance of buff bot and caster. Having Shadowheart as a frontline fighter and back up buffer is nice. Karlach (Barbarian) and Wyll (Sorlock) rounds out the party.
I'm going to give the Nature cleric some love. It's not the flashiest choice, but they're kind of a more support-oriented Druid. Dampen elements can be very useful in the clutch and having 3 options for divine strike is great. I highly recommend having a go with one
I've played a loooot of hours since making this video, and am happy to report that I ended up also loving Nature Clerics. Plus, every Cleric subclass has one giant thing going for them. They are Clerics.
I'm new to bg3 and d & d. These videos have been really helpful. I didn't even know i could respec at Whithers. I like my party comp much better now. I still have a long way to go.
Tempest cleric gave me a reason to always carry water barrels and bottles around, as well as keep create water memorized. Giant puddle + call lightning = a lot of extra crispy bad guys. You're basically Thor combined with Emperor Palpatine. And Astarion specced to assassin+ fog cloud = Closest you'll get to recreating a John Carpenter film in DnD.
Bro, I watch many videos because I have no prior experience with DND fifth edition your video on clerks. Has brought a new understanding to me in appreciation of the class. It was expertly done my friend. Expertly you got a sub. I’m looking forward in the other class die if you can do it whatever else you got. man you got the magic keep rockin.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I appreciate you watching. Good luck on the 3 man, also. That is an interesting idea I may have to try out eventually.
Have to say, I watchesd the Wizard Deepdive and was really dissapointed that there wasn't a deepdive for every class. And as if by magic, you create and upload the deepdive video I wished for the most after Wizard :) Great Video and a new Subscriber for you. Still wish to see the other deepdive's for all classes though ;)
"he's standing there... menacingly" Cleric: telekinesis 😂 This video makes me want to try a full cleric, full solo class run. Life, light, nature/war and tempest on the team 😁
Sounds like a strong team to me. I've considered it myself...but I'd end up dipping them all into Bard to add a little bit of music to the run. I have a problem.
I like the name “panic rolling” because it reminds me of DnD, from soft games, and my party days. I like the channel panic rolling because of the quality content 👌
Yeh you're 100% right about that! Clerics have a ton of options for building a strong character, and a few of them are super fun like the Tempest/Sorc combo you mentioned.
bro you have taught me... so much on these dives ...about my fav class is how i found you ..now ...coolo now , im here getting skhooled on how to use SH better (my girl said she liked your voice and the no opening viedo gimic loud to quiet to loud voice. .. +1 consit and +2 smooth ... i guess ,we both just dope, deep informative voices .. .i'll see you at the try outs for rdr3 or the next rdr perq..)
I appreciate you both watching, and I'm glad you guys are getting value out of the videos! I'm finishing up my Bard script today, and I'll hopefully be recording the whole voice-over, so that one will be out in no time.
Stoneskin, back in the BG1/BG2 days, was one of the best spells to use. It stopped all physical damage for some number of hits (more hits the higher level you were). It was the first spell every mage cast as soon as they woke up after a long rest, because it lasted for 9 hours. Stoneskin in BG3 is very flawed in comparison. It only reduces the damage, and also costs you your only concentration slot, and every time you get hit there is a chance you lose concentration and then you lose the protection.
Yeh the Concentration part is what ruins it for me. I want to like some of these more niche buff spells, but so many of them are single target Concentration spells, which is doodoo unless you're talking about Haste.
I've done one playthrough with Shadowheart as my Life Domain Cleric. It was only after I finished that playthrough that I realised how much I enjoyed her class. My next playthrough is definitely going to be a cleric. I played Paladin in my first playthrough as it's what I play for DnD anyway and it just so happened that my choices fit perfectly with the narrative of the game. My Paladin in both BG3 and DnD is a devout worshiper of Kelemvor. So it fit perfectly with the other 3 "Gods" of death from a choices and role-play aspect. But definitely going Cleric my next playthrough
Larian really did an awesome job with the classes. The subclasses they chose for some of them are more niche, but could add a cool spin to a playthrough. The Cleric is nuts, and it's almost like 3 or 4 classes in one, with all the options you have.
My personal favorite way to play is Tempest Cleric. Call Lightning at max damage is just SO fun With all the ways to increase spell save DC, I believe I currently have a DC of 24 AND I impose disadvantage for enemy saves
Talos Tempest Cleric is my go to. I’m typically a destructive lunatic who could care less about friendly fire. To be hit with a thunder wave is a blessing
Yeh it is seriously broken. Another tip: I did everything you suggested into a room full of gith enemies, and then closed the door on them. They pretty much just stood in the AoE's and died. No attempt to escape.
Cleric is one of my favorite classes, I decided to see how you rated them. I have a Tempest, Light and Knowledge Cleric across my playthroughs. Tempest X/Wizard 1 is amazing especially since you can channel divinity on Lightning Bolt to get some crazy damage. You feel like a wizard wearing heavy armor, and able to use all equipment across your playthrough to buff your build. It feels really thematic being up close in the fight, throwing out shocking grasps as your primary attack. Then my Light Cleric is Ranger 5/Cleric X. I enjoy a dual wielding Dex Ranger in this case. They do insane damage, are sneaky, and can either focus down enemies with their melee weapons or use magic to turn the tides of battle. I take longstrider, increase jump, spike growth and the fourth spell is up to you as long as it isn't on the Cleric spell list. Due to both Cleric and Ranger having the same spellcasting stat, you don't lose out on spell slots with Cleric! Being able to be a skill monkey as a ranger does, combined with having utility spells like Guidance etc is great. You're also in medium armor with a high AC, and with your reaction ability to make an enemy have disadvantage on the attack makes you very avoidant. The channel divinity just makes sense for a melee fighter as well. This class combo is also growing on me due to its lack of reliance on spell slots to do well. And I personally use arcane acuity, which per stack increases spell attack and spell save DC for your spells. With the helmet of arcane acuity that you can get fairly early, you can get stacks in your first turn of combat with melee, and then have extremely accurate offensive spells. It's kinda of nuts. And finally my Knowledge Cleric is Wizard 1/Cleric X as well. This is less offensive by nature, and more of a jack of all trades. I got this build idea from playing multiplayer with people who mostly play only martial classes. This fills a very similar niche to a Lore Bard in a party. Take all of the utility Wizard cantrips and spells (mage hand, minor illusion, and friends since the rest are much easier to get via scrolls). With potent spellcasting from the Knowledge Cleric coming into play, I like to have produce flame and sacred flame available for this. I roll with a Gith, since having their racial ability to gain proficiency in all skills of an ability combined with the channel divinity to stack the effect with another skill, you are quite flexible. You do just fine in combat as well, so long as you know which Wizard spells to pick that don't rely as much on Int to do well (depends on how you do your abilities as well, I try to keep my WIS at 18 and INT at 16 at least). Magic Missle, Inflict Wounds + Spirit Guardians, Glyph of Warding and many other options allow you to be just fine with the base Cleric spellset + Wizard scrolls.
All of those builds sound awesome, especially the Ranger/ Cleric idea. That's a combo I haven't messed around with yet. Gunna have to add that one to the list!
@@PanicRolling Sweet! I forgot to mention in the Knowledge Cleric build- if you grab Spell Sniper to get Eldritch Blast, it will scale with your WIS. It's a great choice for the build, since you will have Potent Cantrips.
I've basically learned through all of my testing that I don't ever want to run a party without a Bard and a Cleric. At least one of them is coming with me, that's for sure.
I used divine intervention on a Hireling cleric for the chest of food/potions to see how good it was. Was playing on Tac, and the chest didn’t even provide enough camp supplies for a long rest. I think the total camp supplies number was less than 40. Insane lol I’d expect it to give you 200-300 camp supplies seeing as it’s such a high level one time use spell. Def F tier option for the ability
Yeh considering you can get a permanent endgame weapon, or basically full heal your party once in combat. Maybe if it was a permanent reduction to the amount of supplies you needed per Rest? That might be cool.
1. When you said Level 6 War Cleric, I heard 6 Little War Clerics. I almost spit out my dinner. 2. No, no you aren't dumb, Stone Skin really is that pointless. Once upon a time it didn't have the "non-magical" tag, which meant it was useful as a buff. This was back in like 2nd and 3rd edition, though. They nerfed it into uselessness. 3. Loving the playlist this is in. Been listening to it as I play and eat dinner. I hope you come back to Baldur's Gate 3 soon.
Hey, never underestimate 6 little teeny tiny War Clerics... they'll getcha. Yeh I tried very hard to make Stoneskin not useless in my first run. I made several attempts to use it, and I was disappointed every time lol. Also I am back to bg3! I released the Warlock video the other day and I'll have the Bard video ready in a few days!
@PanicRolling knew cleric was really good just from having trickery shadow heart permanently in my party through the first 2 acts. But I never would have guessed she was the weakest subclass by far! Lol def gonna respec her to tempest or war! I Cast bless on you, thanks so much
I took the Druid and pole master feat and dipping a little into storm sorcerer for my Tempest Cleric. Shield spell combined with a few gear perks makes me really hard to hit. Combined this with command and I have guys running at me getting bonked and then knocked back again while my squishy friends stay safe. Cleric is a great option if you are playing with some less experienced friends for sure.
Yeh this sounds like a sick combination. I haven't messed with Polearm Master any, but I have heard some great things about it. I'll definitely have to try out something like this.
Making a case for death ward here: It’s great for helping protect NPCs that aren’t in your party and would normally be perma-killed! It just helped me save Jaheira from getting obliterated during the invasion of moonrise towers 😅🙏
about the whole respecc to have more divine Intervention, if you dont want to re-do your party: Hire Hirelings, respecc them to Cleric, spawn the chest / weapon, dismiss them, pickpocket Withers to get the money back (he literally does not care, he just ask for money to have a bit more of social interaction cuz he is just a cool dude)
Very true. The hirelings are great for a ton of things. They remind me of the Pawns from Dragon's Dogma. I also love how it's just Withers controlling a meat puppet.
As an unrelated suggestion for a future playthrough, Shart makes a very good Barbarian also! It fits her personality very well, and you could use some of the Barb's Wolf options to maintain the sneaky lore if you wanted.
@PanicRolling ha! I like to keep the Origin chars in their stated classes, though I am not opposed to multi-ing them. In the playtbrough I am refering to here, I will mukti Shart into rogue in part because trickery works well with rogue and a certain someone will get staked through the heart because Cleric/Paladin of Selune ain't having none of that monkey business.
On stoneskin its until long rest and not limited to self so if you want the ability you cast it once. It can be cast on yourself or others. If you plan on casting it on yourself you likely planned it and have a high con save to keep it going. Basically its a thing you can cast on someone to try and keep them from taking as much damage particularly if its not yourself. In d and d it normally doesn't stack but the wording is different in baldurs gate so maybe its incredible on allies that already reduce damage like barbarians.
Yeh I just struggle to justify a lot of the concentration buffs in the game. Some of them are awesome...and some are doodoo. I don't think Stoneskin is bad, I just never found myself using it.
@PanicRolling yeah concentration is something you have to make choices on. I'm just pointing out it does have a purpose even if it's not the craziest. Also the damage you take is halved meaning if it's an attack it applies to you'd have to take quite a bit of damage (over 40) to move it past that 10 dc. There's ways to make that dc 10 check not that crazy.
My last game I made Shadowheart a Shadow Monk just to mix things up. I actually have no real healer, Gale does spells and some protection as and Abjuration Wizard, often using his ward to help Shadowheart, I am a Ranger using Ranged attacks, then we have Karlach as a eagle heart Barb...I really should have gone Berserker. Next game I really plan to get even more into different builds, and probably multi-class a lot, Like I think Wyll will be a warlock, Blade bard, and Lae'zel will probably go fighter Paladin, as more a combat general and protector type. These deep dives are great though, because you really need to understand the mechanics of every class, to know just when to muti-class, and know what your trade offs are.
That's awesome! I love the idea of using some off-the-wall builds together in your party. It really helps with the feeling of a group of people who just met, using vastly different combat styles and skills. I'm also currently doing a Durge run where I don't have a dedicated healer. There's quite a bit of potion throwing, though.
War Clerics are awesome, and I love the fantasy behind them. The idea of some kind of battlemage is always interesting to me. I often have trouble deciding which percentage I want to focus on battle, and which to focus on mage. I want all the spells AND all the melee capability. Is that too much to ask? Probably. But I'm asking anyway.
Yeh, it is a very strong ability to start with. I think War Clerics are often overlooked because of the power of the other Martial classes in the game, but they're really good.
I think people focus too much on that bonus attack thing. The stronger thing, early on, is the +10 on a to hit roll as a reaction. That turns a miss into a guaranteed hit, while the extra attack is just a chance at hitting. Which isn't to say that the extra attack is bad, as that can allow you to get an extra hit in, killing an enemy which means less damage taken, and so on, but if I had to choose one of those two abilities in the low levels, I'd take the reaction.
I'm not sure which one is better mathematically, but I agree with you for the very early game. Swinging and missing happens way more often in the early levels, and it feels awful. Having a way to get some very reliable damage on the board is a powerful quality of life improvement.
Pretty sure Stoneskin can be cast on friendlies rather than like Blade Ward that only affects the caster. Not that it's a great spell by any means, but that's the difference. Also, I know you love Bless and I kind of too, but after using it for a while, I feel like I may as well wear Hellrider's Pride/Reviving Hands and Whispering Promise on a cleric and cast Mass Healing Words instead to get Bless and Blade Ward on everyone for two turns than to have to concentrate solely on Bless. I'm almost through my fourth playthrough and now I'm tempted to make a Tempest Cleric. I've originally brainstormed an idea to maybe make a melee Guardian Spirit War cleric build but now I want to make a synergistic Tempest/Lightning party with a Storm Sorcery sorcerer.
Yeh I originally did more comparison between the two spells, and brought up the fact that you could cast Stoneskin on allies...but some of that stuff didn't come out great and I ended up cutting it out. If Stoneskin didn't require that I be in melee range to cast it on someone else, l'd probably advocate for it a bit, honestly. If one of my squishies was about to take a bunch of attacks and I could slap that on them for a turn, I'd do it. But its just like...the worst of all worlds. Single target, melee range, concentration spell. Doodoo.
@@PanicRolling Totally agree. But even if it were ranged, I'd much rather opt to throw Sanctuary on someone who I'm trying to protect rather than Stoneskin them and let them tank the damage. On top of that, Sanctuary is a bonus action so I can still heal or whatever else with my action.
hmmm, would you recommend some other concentration spell to use rather than using a single target concentration spell? not sure if it was mentioned in the video
Just a bunch of shuffling people around, unfortunately. There are mods that allow you to position them without them walking back to their normal spot also, I believe. If you're on console, that's not available to you right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets made when modding comes to consoles.
Thanks for the good content. Was a pleasant listen and I had to Subscribe. BG3 devs did such an amazing job. Honestly the Concentration system could be made better and deepened imo. I get for table top it is an ease of use, keeping things manageable. Yet in Game adaptations of the D&D rules, a lot can be done. They made so many amazing changes already. made me think about it and what i could see making it better imo. Concentration spells could have tiers, lesser, mid and full concentration levels. Lesser concentration spells are spells that need some upkeep, but not the casters full focus. Basically Barkskin and similar weaker ones. So they have easier to pass concentration saves. Possibly could even let the mage have 2 to 3 active at a time, yet each one active adds to the concentration save difficulty. Maybe at 3 even require checks if the character takes other full actions. Mid are more powerful spells that have a higher save difficulty yet still allow the caster to act freely and possibly could stack with a single lesser concentration spell as well. Like a sleet storm. While full are powerful spells that have harder checks and may require checks when the character takes actions. Other or additional options is to have some concentration spells become self sustaining after a set number of turns, like these spike and plant terrain spells. Possibly some concentration spells could backfire, go out of control if concentration is interrupted such as for call lightning. Lastly maybe some like barkskin could linger for a set(3) amount of turns after, Lots of options to deepen such a system.
I think that sounds like an awesome idea. There are a ton of spells in bg3 that just aren't worth casting under normal circumstances. Some of the ones I don't like still have uses, sure... but is it worth traveling across the room to hit my teammate with Stoneskin, when I can use a Bonus Action to cast Sanctuary on them from across the room? No, it often isn't. Your idea would allow for some of these spells to actually see some use, which would be cool.
Dude, nice video. First cleric wrap-up I've seen that doesn't discount Trickery out of hand. Trickery is great. It's advanced, though. I usually multi Shadowheart, but I might play her origin run pure cleric, and make the rest of the characters dark/sneaky classes/subdomains. You ever have Gail do sleight of hand? It's funny. And Karlach's inner monologue while sneaking is worth the price of the game. You even got me thinking about using Nature, where I always thought why not just be a druid? I may do that, there's a moon goddess that is patron of the domain. Might be fun. Spiritual Weapon is hot garbage. You and every other UA-camr have this "underrated" spell way overrated. No movement. No opportunity attack. Waste of a lvl2 slot for one or two hits per battle, except for that really strange occasion when for some reason enemies aggro on it.
I am currently doing a run where everyone is a different class or subclass than what they were supposed to be. Astarion as a Bard, yelling insults at enemies from across the room, is just too good. Also noooooo my love for Spiritual Weapon is undying. I do wish that it had more movement, but I always use it as another Area Denial spell. So Guardian of Faith and Spiritual Weapon filled almost the same role for me, but I'd use both and SW can move around a little bit. I'd say it depends on what Domain you end up choosing. For Life, SW was a great use of a spell slot. It let me get a bit of damage out of Shadowheart while she was mainly healing. If you're Light or Tempest...the damage won't really stack up to a Fireball or a Shatter. I still love it, though.
Laura Bailey wanted to play a Bard in the Mighty Nein campaign after seeing Sam Riegel in Vox Machina, but the team decided that they want a Cleric. Trickery offers exactly that: A Bard with a significantly larger spell selection, for the price of Bardic Inspiration. - In Tabletop, the PHB domains are more or less "balanced" , but Trickery provides the best domain spells, so it is very easy to make an argument for it. Life Domain in comparison has the most limited list. Larian just had the "glorious " idea to turn both Light and Tempest outright broken in their respective power levels; only from this perspective Trickery is anywhere close to a "poor" choice. - Spiritual Weapon in Tabletop is so bad that Larian decided to give it their homebrewed "summon rules" treatment: Does no longer require Bonus Actions to act, and can act as a distraction. Still, I agree: It is a 2nd level spell slot; and the distraction part is the best thing about the spell.
I can definitely see the Trickery Domain filling that role. That's a really smart way to work around the classes they needed. I'm just sad that I played all the way through my Barbarian's run before I watched Vox Machina...so I wasn't constantly saying "I would like to Rage." Missed opportunity.
@@swapsplat Spiritual Weapon is fine when it does that. I guess I would revise my opinion to say that early game, it is not the best choice, when spell slots are super limited. An upcast offensive spell or even healing word is more reliable and useful oftentimes. Hold person... silence... SW is just too unreliable, and likely to sit idle because it can't reach anything. Even sanctuary is better. I think aggro is generally on the weakest reachable target(not sure), and early on, maybe the SW is stronger than say Gale sitting in a robe still. I would just add it to the prepared list later when a 2nd level spell slot is not your highest.
Did someone steal your cute har with buttons for ears? Jk Anyways i wanted to say if every UA-camr could make these kind of detailed build guides it would be less “ most op build” bs you know the ones they have a maxed out character at 12 best gear and rush thru a 10min video of something that takes over 100s hrs to build up.
Yeh unfortunately there are a few spells that don't work very well in video game form. I think the idea of the spell is awesome...I just can't justify using it over Bless or one of the other powerful Concentration spells that are available.

"Fair to say that the light cleric is very different from the life cleric" Yuuup. "Light" is just a nice way of saying "fire".
It's just really hot light, ok?
Holy fire baby
Incandescent light bulb Cleric.

Hey, thanks a lot! I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my Fighter Deepdive. Keep an eye out for it.
Great stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing deep diving on Ranger and Sorcerer!
Thanks for watching! I'll have those videos out as soon as I can, definitely keep an eye out!
Any time you have a free long rest (Restoration pod etc) burn any remaining spell slots to death ward people before you click the restore. Free 1 hp resurrection
Death Ward can get you out of some pretty rough spots, for sure.
More people should run cleric and cleric multiclass. An old adage in table top D&D is : You need the cleric, but the cleric doesn't need you. They are just fun.
Agreed. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.
I love these deep dives. I have not played DnD since the 80, lol, so I need a reminder and brought up to date. I love Baulder's Gate!
The Nature Cleric seems very versatile. I have a druid, and this class/subclass might be much better.
The ol Green Knight approach.
@@PanicRolling yeah, abjuration ward can be VERY powerful, but it is reliant on the wizard level, not the character level.
T.T I had such big plans for that build until I realized it was only going to stack up to 4. Having a 4 stack of Arcane Ward is no joke, either...but it wasn't worth the loss of a third Feat to me.
I needed this video. I never understood Clerics tbh, so this is very helpful!
Sounds like a hell of a party, to me! Which of the two Domains are you liking better?
@@PanicRolling I am liking the Light Domain. It’s a nice balance of buff bot and caster. Having Shadowheart as a frontline fighter and back up buffer is nice. Karlach (Barbarian) and Wyll (Sorlock) rounds out the party.
Yeh that is a strong team. Sounds like a fun playthrough, also.
@PanicRolling They're literally the only class with that advantage 😂
I'm new to bg3 and d & d. These videos have been really helpful. I didn't even know i could respec at Whithers. I like my party comp much better now. I still have a long way to go.
The amount of stuff you'll learn as you play is ridiculous. This game has a lot going on behind the curtain.
Yeh the Tempest almost feels unfair to use. So anyway, I started blasting...
the ring that stops a toon going blind + the cloak the makes fog on a disengage is a killer setup for astarion
Please more of these! I love the way you cover the classes in your videos and I feel I have a better grasp of the game.
Thanks a lot! More are coming very soon!
Bro, I watch many videos because I have no prior experience with DND fifth edition your video on clerks. Has brought a new understanding to me in appreciation of the class. It was expertly done my friend. Expertly
you got a sub.
I’m looking forward in the other class die if you can do it whatever else you got.
man you got the magic
keep rockin.
We're all learning this stuff together, and I appreciate the extremely kind words of encouragement.
I've been enjoying the research, honestly.
Caught your video just as I was researching cleric for a 3 man! Absolutely amazing video, keep up the good work!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I appreciate you watching. Good luck on the 3 man, also. That is an interesting idea I may have to try out eventually.
Hey dude just Wanted to say this entire series is amazing! Definitely going to look into more of your other content!
great guide bro, been running tempest domain cleric/storm sorc combo on my team and damn they fit perfectlly together
It's a great combo, and hilarious fun when everything fires off perfectly.
Full-room deletions being handed out left and right.
I don’t typically follow people on UA-cam. But for you, sir, I made an exception. Keep ‘em coming
Welcome, Traveler! I appreciate the support and the kind words.
Can tell you put a lot of thought into this video format
Great level of depth, sound opinions all round
This was an hour well spent for me, thanks 🙏
Thank you very much! The format kinda changes a bit each video lol...one day I might actually have a clue what I'm doing.
Press X to Doubt.
I’m no lore expert, but I love the life domain! Keeps my tactician campaign chugging along.
A Life Cleric is almost certainly welcome in any group. The passive heals are so strong, it's actually crazy.
Thank you very much! I'm definitely going to be doing every class. It's been fun learning all of this stuff and working on these.
@@PanicRolling sounds great. I'm looking forward to the Monk and Warlock Video in particular.
I think the Monk is going to be next on my list. Look for it next Friday!
"he's standing there... menacingly"
Cleric: telekinesis 😂
This video makes me want to try a full cleric, full solo class run.
There's all kinds of hidden meanings buried in there. I'm like a mystery box.
Also thank you!
@@PanicRolling seriously thank you! Won’t find a more thorough guide, delivered so concise and personably
Sanctuary plus beacon of hope is always a safe opener for the cleric.
Yep and it sets you up to drop some massive heals.
Clerics are no joke. And there are some food multiclass options too. Clarik/Paladins can be good, and even Cleric Sorcerer (storm casters are brutal)
Yeh you're 100% right about that! Clerics have a ton of options for building a strong character, and a few of them are super fun like the Tempest/Sorc combo you mentioned.
@PanicRolling at some point, I intend to make a Tempest Storm Sorc with a Blue Dragonborn for the Lightning breath weapon flavor.
bro you have taught me... so much on these dives
...about my fav class is how i found you ..now ...coolo now ,
im here getting skhooled on how to use SH better
(my girl said she liked your voice and the no opening viedo gimic loud to quiet to loud voice.
You have pretty expert video editing and speaking for such a small UA-camr
That's very high praise, and I appreciate it! I'm just trying to make each video better than the last one.
Call Lightning at max damage is just SO fun
With all the ways to increase spell save DC, I believe I currently have a DC of 24 AND I impose disadvantage for enemy saves
Lol! Good luck to them when they try to avoid that.
The Tempest Cleric is crazy good.
Talos Tempest Cleric is my go to. I’m typically a destructive lunatic who could care less about friendly fire. To be hit with a thunder wave is a blessing
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Love BG3
My pleasure. Thanks for watching it!
I love stuff like spike and plant growth, mix it with hunger of hadar moonlight etc and you can cruise through may battles just passing turn
Yeh it is seriously broken. Another tip: I did everything you suggested into a room full of gith enemies, and then closed the door on them.
They pretty much just stood in the AoE's and died. No attempt to escape.
I rerolled Shadowheart has a cleric/paladin. She’s such a beast
Yeh she did a ton of work in my first playthrough. Never had her out of my party.
Really good deep dive. Enjoyed the wizard video also
Thanks! I appreciate you watching them, and I'm glad you liked them.
15:45 - and this is why this video should be watched. I feel so dumb for not thinking of this!
I didn't come up with the idea either, trust me! I read about it online and my mind was blown.
Excellent deep dive, clearly explaining all the spells - thank you for sharing
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind feedback.
Cleric is such a fun class. Stinks that it's one of the least popular classes in BG3. Love the content. Liked and subscribed. :)
I've basically learned through all of my testing that I don't ever want to run a party without a Bard and a Cleric. At least one of them is coming with me, that's for sure.
That is a very useful and nicely detailed video. Good job, man.
Hey, thanks! I'm glad you got some value out of it.
Best class guide on yt
That's very high praise. Thank you very much, Traveler.
Love these deep dives! Cant wait for warlock and sorcerer
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying them.
@PanicRolling knew cleric was really good just from having trickery shadow heart permanently in my party through the first 2 acts. But I never would have guessed she was the weakest subclass by far! Lol def gonna respec her to tempest or war! I Cast bless on you, thanks so much
Trickery is not bad by any means, but I'm curious which domain you end up liking the best. Let me know which one you end up going with.
Fantastic, this will help me understand shadowheart!
Good luck understanding that one!
Throw in the sentinel feat for added area denial/ally protection.
@@blackhat4206 only one reaction per, I read it doesn’t stack with polearm
Making a case for death ward here: It’s great for helping protect NPCs that aren’t in your party and would normally be perma-killed! It just helped me save Jaheira from getting obliterated during the invasion of moonrise towers 😅🙏
about the whole respecc to have more divine Intervention, if you dont want to re-do your party:
Hire Hirelings, respecc them to Cleric, spawn the chest / weapon, dismiss them, pickpocket Withers to get the money back (he literally does not care, he just ask for money to have a bit more of social interaction cuz he is just a cool dude)
Very true. The hirelings are great for a ton of things. They remind me of the Pawns from Dragon's Dogma.
I also love how it's just Withers controlling a meat puppet.
Oh boy I can't wait for the Monk video.
It's coming, I swear!
very informative, and insightful, thank you
Hey, I'm glad you got something out of it! Thanks for watching the video!
I'm a cleric of the algorithm
Feels like Divine Intervention.
Awesome stuff bro. Like the Lore and everything about keep them coming. Subbed👍
Hey, thanks! I'm working on more as we speak, and I appreciate the sub.
Subbed, commenting because you deserve the blessings of the algo-gods!
Thanks! I'll take all the help I can get, lol!
I see you taking us through all the classes, could you do paladin next?
I'm currently finishing up my Monk Deepdive video, and I had plans to do the Charisma-based classes next.
I'll go ahead and pencil the Pally in next.
@@PanicRolling I think you did an amazing job covering the class. And I'm definitely looking forward to watching more of your content.
Thanks so much for Cleric info! 😇
I will do a War Cleric of Selune multi into Paladin and have Shadowheart multi into Rogue in one of my playthroughs.
In the playtbrough I am refering to here, I will mukti Shart into rogue in part because trickery works well with rogue and a certain someone will get staked through the heart because Cleric/Paladin of Selune ain't having none of that monkey business.
this channel is so good
Thanks!
really good and informative: thanks for this!
Sure thing! Thanks for the kind words.
Great deep dive man 🙏🏼
Tyvm! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
There's quite a bit of potion throwing, though.
wicked video! thanks mane!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Dude, you're great
Thanks! I tell myself that all the time! O.o
Great job
Thanks!
Running my PS5 play though as a War Cleric. I played early access on my Mac a few times as a Wizard. I wanna do a gish build sometime.
Probably. But I'm asking anyway.
one cleric lvl of wardomain will give multiple attack at low levels unlike other classes
Opulent Revival is basically the Healer Lv3 Limit Break from FFXIV, except it has a radius. Albeit a fairly giant radius for the game.
almost a hundred subs!!!! let's goooooo
We made it! I did make sure to take a screenshot at 69 subs, to preserve that in history.
Thank you for the support and excitement, Traveler.
Awesome content
Subscribed. I like your voice
Hey thanks for the support!
Good stuff
100% agree. I don't use Blade Ward either haha! To be fair, Sanctuary is extremely strong. I'm honestly shocked that it isn't a Concentration spell.
Would it be possible to break the UA-cam time line into sections so that you can easily jump to where you want? Thanks.
I'm going to work on adding those tonight, that's a great suggestion! Thanks for that.
hmmm, would you recommend some other concentration spell to use rather than using a single target concentration spell? not sure if it was mentioned in the video
I felt like you had a rogue guide up or am I crazy? Lol
I still stub my brainstsm when Clerics can use bladed weapons
How do u get all of your party members that close together?
I separate them and control them individually. If you move them while they're grouped, they'll constantly push each other around.
3:00 tbh i wouldn’t object to that
Have at it! Definitely not my cup of tea, haha!
make a ranger deep dive!!
I'm gunna!!
great
I'm still waiting for the gods video
How did you group everyone up in camp to buff them? Is it a mod or is there some method I'm missing out on?
Just a bunch of shuffling people around, unfortunately. There are mods that allow you to position them without them walking back to their normal spot also, I believe.
If you're on console, that's not available to you right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets made when modding comes to consoles.
@PanicRolling Unfortunately I am on console lol but thanks for reminding me modding is coming to console completely forgot about that somehow
Lastly maybe some like barkskin could linger for a set(3) amount of turns after,
Lots of options to deepen such a system.
Do You Stream??
I just started the other day, actually! I'm still trying to get it figured out, and make it look better for you guys, but we're making progress!
I'm just sad that I played all the way through my Barbarian's run before I watched Vox Machina...so I wasn't constantly saying "I would like to Rage."
Missed opportunity.
Spiritual weapon is great.
More than once it's taken the heat off party members.
Jk
Anyways i wanted to say if every UA-camr could make these kind of detailed build guides it would be less “ most op build” bs you know the ones they have a maxed out character at 12 best gear and rush thru a 10min video of something that takes over 100s hrs to build up.
If whatever i said made sense 😅
Stoneskin is a crap spell, one of the worse of the whole game, hands down
Yeh unfortunately there are a few spells that don't work very well in video game form.
I think the idea of the spell is awesome...I just can't justify using it over Bless or one of the other powerful Concentration spells that are available.
Really enjoy these videos!
Thanks! I enjoyed making it.
