- The title kind of says it all. No parking brake cable, wheel cylinders, etc. Just a simple set of brake shoes with some attention to cleaning and lubrication. Thanks for checking in.

Finally a video on UA-cam that shows you exactly how to do rear brakes the correct way. Thanks for helping out the uneducated, now they know how to do it right. Good job man
Thank you for the video, very helpful. You do not need a mechanic when you have the right tools and a little knowledge. It looks like you have both things. Thanks again.
34 yrs in the business, I have more than a few tools and hopeful more than basic knowledge. Unfortunately, most DIYers get themselves in trouble trying to tackle things that are beyond their capabilities. Hope this video helped
Man, this guy has all the right tools. I've been struggling this whole time, with pliers and other tools
The collection never ends. Whatever makes the job easier, right? Within reason of course. Thank you sir.
Thanks for that great video, you make it very easy and simple.
Nice Video S & A Auto Repair, we praised your neat procedure, taking care of fine details, like cleaning & lubing which makes the difference. Congrats! your video is added to my Mechanics Hall of Fame List. This procedure applies also to 2012 Nissan Sentra SE. Keep it up Pro.
My pleasure and thanks for the praise. Hope to see you again
Great video. Well detailed of the whole job
Thank you sir
Cory haven’t see a drum brake job in quite some time. Good video, great camera work, brings back a lot of memories. I remember cars that had drum brakes on all. Four wheels. Now you know I’m older than dirt but still love doing the work. Never gets old. 👍👍👍
Surprising they're still around as much as they are.
Like the spring holder tool you have . Like the idea of moving the wheel cylinder back and forth. Well done....
Thank you sir.
Steve, I like that spring tool as well. Lisle makes it. www.amazon.com/Lisle-45100-Brake-Spring-Tool/dp/B0002SQU8Q
Initially thought your video was long. once I started I forgot the minutes until it was over. without those tools the springs are so hard to stretch with pliers. I quit it last weekend and decided to buy the spring tool. thanks specifically for the tip on the self adjusting screw. everything else seemed okay except that part. its like an art to adjust it. no particular standard to follow.
Some jobs are hard to properly explain without taking the time. The proper tools are imperative. I hope the video helped and appreciated the support
You were using the wrong side brake shoe. Driver side and passenger side have the pin length in different sides. I just did mine yesterday. Great video though!
Not sure exactly what you're referring to, but certain it's right. Either that or I've done several hundred wrong. Maybe the camera reversed the image. Thanks for the support
S & A Auto Repair What I was saying is the pin for the operating lever on the brake shoe is side specific. I just installed both rear brake shoes and the driver side and passenger side pins are different. Looks like the brake shoe you were installing for the passenger side was actually for the driver side. That’s why you couldn’t get the retainer ring to fit properly. BTW, I’m referring to 15:51 of your video. Again good video!
Mini vise grips, and needle nose plyers...
4 the Real Men💪.
Thanks Rudy
Jesus clips, love it. Of course doing it outside in front of my apartment without a garage or even an awning would make it that much more colorful.
Yes it would. Weigh you options and what's your time worth? It might be worth letting the shop do it. The main purpose of my content is to show what goes into fixing your car properly so people have a better understanding and allow you to make an educated decision about who works on your car. That being said, if you're a DIY'er tried and true, all the best. I appreciate your support
What is the name of the tool to release and re-attach the springs? Thank you.
You need to fix you camera angle for future videos
Thankfully I'm a much better tech than videographer.
Tha camera angle is killing me! I was hoping for a direct front view to figure out where the green spring goes.
I'm sorry my friend. A direct front view means I can't see what either. It's always a battle to get a good camera view that doesn't get in my way, visually or physically. Appreciate you watching sir
Damm,, How did that go again??? What happen to the little washer that goes before the c-clip on the E-break..
If it's what I think you're talking about, not all of them use it. Some use it between the park brake lever and shoe, some use it right under the clip and some dont use one
Great video! Thank you!
What is the name of the tool that you used to remove the spring? I haven't been able to find it.
Its a standard tool in any brake tool kit. Check my Amazon store
S & A Auto Repair thank you.
So I just changed mine and the brakes need a double pump to stop where am I going wrong
readjust the rear brakes
What kind of spray you are using? I didn't get that part. TIA
Brake cleaner?
What’s the name of the spray cleaner? Thank you
Just a run of the mill brake cleaner
What do you call that specialty tool for grabbing the spring? I can't find it anywhere!
It's a standard brake spring tool. I'll see if I can add it to my Amazon store for you
