If you made a mistake in the video the least you could have done is reshot the scene instead of driving us insane with that spring placement that magically changed positions from one scene to the next

I noticed an inconsistency with the video. At 7:28 and 7:36 the top spring is on two different locations.

Interesting, I see what you're seeing. I reviewed it from the beginning and you'll see at 1:59 that the original spring was mounted in the hole farthest to the right. Good catch

Actually it was in the right hole if you watch from the beginning when he just took off the drum. Dont know why he repositioned it.

I noticed this AFTER I did the job.
And then the spring fell and break fluid came out....

Please mention that the adjusters are not the same, there is a left and right... would have save an hour of tinkering. Besides that great video! Thank you.

Got my breaks recently done and I hear a clicking sound. Took it back to the mechanic and he said everything was installed correctly. Should the shoes have any play?

I think it’s important to note, for anyone who doesn’t exactly know what they are doing, that the WHOLE point of the shoes is so that the E brake lever actually stops the rear wheels from moving at all when the E brake is engaged. I think a better way to explain the adjustment is that you want to be able to move when the lever isn’t engaged but more importantly so you want the wheels to completely lock up when the lever IS engaged. If the shoes don’t grip those drums properly your car could roll away from you down a hill.

The above video, overall almost perfect, my only comment: 0:49 to remove the drums (2007 Versa), I tried, hammer hook screwdriver lube etc. still won't work, had to use 2 screws (#8.125) to remove it.

I'm surprised they weren't metric bolts to pop the drum off.

Why didnt this guy edit the first top spring? He put in the wrong slot, then put it on backwards and the final scene shows he turned it around. Yet he never said anything. Pretty messed up man
