So, I had both models and in the end, I decided on the UCDP. One of the main reasons was the true black levels. No matter whether you're using the monitor in daytime or at night the black levels stay almost the same, which is definitely not the case with the QD-OLED. As soon as there's a light source shining on the monitor, the blacks become quite gray, and the screen turns purple. This is a huge problem if you're using the monitor during the day and defeats the purpose of an oled. Glossy is nice, but the issue with glossy is that it can be very straining on the eyes. For example, if you're watching TV and the screen has a glossy coating or almost none, it's easier on the eyes because you're sitting farther away. But if you're closer to the monitor and there are a lot of reflections, it's tiring for your eyes to focus on what's happening on the screen, and this can also lead to eye strain. Many people with QD-OLED panels also report experiencing eye strain. So, I would recommend the UCDP to anyone who uses their monitor both during the day and at night, has windows open, works on the monitor, and plays games. That’s my recommendation. UCDP has more natural colors too. Thanks for the review, by the way, it was really good 👍🏻
I used the Alienware AW3423DWF for about a year, and while it was an excellent monitor, over time, my eyes started to hurt more and more. I’m not entirely sure if it was due to the QD-OLED technology, but I’m convinced that something about the glass panel made my eyes extremely fatigued. Eventually, the dryness and pain in my eyes became unbearable, so I decided to make a big switch and purchased the LG 32GS95UE-B. I’ve been using it for over three months now, and while both WOLED and QD-OLED may have important differences like anti-reflective coating, I’m just so happy that my eyes don’t hurt anymore. It's been a huge relief.

Thank you! There is a difference and from a pure “image quality” standpoint I do think it looks better. But I’ve been using the UCDP(matte) exclusively since this video, and have never once felt like I was missing out. If reflections and light control are not issues for you, the QDOLED is great. But for me, reflections are the reason I went matte.
32UCDM For some reason, if your own is HDMI, it will change to Dolby Vision gaming. When you finish the game and return to the desktop screen, HDR 10 will be displayed. If you change the brightness of the SDR from the Windows settings, you will return to Dolby Vision.
Omg you play tarkov! 97% of my non phone gaming has been on it since 2017… so if you played in a medium-dim lit room with no lights behind the display for tarkov, which would you pick? Although I do have 4 other monitors nearby as I run multiple tarkov accounts at once to fill raids…. Pay to win energy.
tarkov looks great on both, but if there is any light in the room.. personally i like the PG32UCDP. The shadow boost on these oled panels is like a cheat code for tarkov. Image "quality" is generally better on the PG32UCDM, but the raised blacks and the glare make me prefer the matte coating for tarkov

Off topic a bit, but I’m currently fighting the general hype for a LG G4 tv and returning the Samsung S95D I picked up. My condo is 85% windows. Only the bedrooms have black out curtains. The rest are a bit more translucent. I’m facing all the mid day and late afternoon sun. I don’t care how bright a tv gets, a dark scene is going to have glare and reflections. Even if it’s mini led. I feel like I’m being brain washed to favour the LG G4 but I feel like I’ll immediately regret returning the Samsung. I think anti glare and “matte” options have improved significantly over the year and like you I don’t want to constantly be sitting in a dark space. Sorry that was a lot.
@@DerekJamesMandyonly go glossy if you can easily control your lighting environment and dont mind gaming in the dark. Otherwise I would expore matte options. I have a C1 48 and C3 77 and for both these TVs I need to turn of lights to avoid reflections. Thankfully my windows are in a good place.
Best review I’ve seen of these 2 monitors! The text on a (dusty looking) white background is so fuzy and hazy on my PG32UCDP I cannot look at this at all in the daytime when using as a production device. However, on a darker background everything looks good. I’m considering the glossy panel of the PG32UCDM to see if text on a white background appears cleaner? If the UCDM isn’t cleaner on a white background i’ll consider picking up XG27AQDMG
@@Gekko858 I do think that full white screens with text looks nicer on the pg32ucdm. To me it isn’t a massive difference from normal viewing distance though
@@EverTechReviews thanks for your response. Did you find the redish/purple hue (UCDM) on a white background distracting? I’m unsure if this would appear too unnatural.
Nice video! Seems like both monitors are good and hard to tell which is better. But the true blacks of woled just seems superior to me. Though sad that it has a slightly less wide color gamut. I also don't play any games where 480Hz would help which kinda is a waste but I do work with color grading so true blacks is very important for that reason too, as I intend to use my monitor for both for work and gaming.
Dont known why people are talking about black levels....thats a QDOLED issue. I thought the video was about Matte vs. Glossy. Asus does make a Glossy WOLED which would have been a better comparison.
I'll share my thinking on my thumbnail and title. I chose the title Matte VS Glossy since to most people are familiar with those terms, but may not be familiar with the more specific OLED terms. Video is def more of a comparison of QD-OLED and W-OLED though for sure, which is why I put the two panel names in the title. I tried to cover both points though in the video best i could!
Thanks for your great study i understood that matt & W oled type is good for me but i must wait a bit more with those prices still OLED is not a great choise.
I have the Razer leviathan v2 x. It has very average sound quality but does the job for what I use it for. I liked the size, price, and looks of it. I mostly use it for music and watching UA-cam. I could put together a UA-cam short on it if you are keen :)
I had the lil bro of the WOLED, the XG27AQDMG. The HDR was atrocious, shadow details were eliminated entirely when HDR was set to 100/100 in nearly all HDR content. (im not talking about SDR to HDR here!)
@@danieldavidovsky518 to the eye it doesn’t look like that. The color temperature on both is set to the same 6500k default preset. The camera seems to pick up that panel as “warmer” for some reason.

This debate made me laugh on reddit for a while ngl, because idgaf what others prefer, i choose WOLED because of my personal preferences, past experience with glossy screen, environnement etc and you should don't give a f*** about my pref too. Take the one you prefer and fit the most with your usage :) Thanks for your video
Sorry for the Plosives! I'm working on changing how i do audio and its a work in progress!. Both Monitors are using the default racing profile for all of this testing, and the 6500k color temperature. I matched OLED care settings between the two. For some reason the QD-OLED looks very pink in all of my footage, but to the naked eye it does not have such a red tint to it.
there is the samsung g80sd which uses the same qd-oled panel, but has a matte coating which must be a good compromise to avoid reflections and the purple tint
The thing is that since there's no WOLED glossy monitors the comparisons are less glossy vs matte and more QD-OLED glossy vs matte. And QD-OLED looks terrible with lights turned on so basically it's only worth it if you use it in a dark environment.
I have to say the black level raise is only an issue if you shine the light directly at the screen. Look at how he has shined a bright light directly at the screens. Who is gonna do this whilst gaming ?
I have to say that an issue is an issue. Different people and have different rooms and pretending it doesn't exist won't make it go away. Just look at how his windows on the side is enough to turn the screen completely purple. He also touched on the eye strain caused by the glossy QD-OLED. Making your room darker to decrease the issue will simply amplify the effects of eye strain on him. It's basically a Lose-Lose situation either way. (I had the MSI 321URX at one point and can sympathize on his experience)
Do these monitors have the best cooling among the oled models? I’m not a fan of the chin compared to LGs borderless design but the cooling is the selling point if that is a legit thing
I still have both of the M and P. Which do you find has brighter whites for clarity for productivity? Which do you find has better or less fringing? Which of the two has better or clearer text? Subscribed! 👊
I prefer the UCDP for productivity because the matte screen helps with reflections. However, i think the overall clarity on the UCDM is nicer. Its really a toss up though. The white balance on the UCDP is more "true white" since it has a white subpixel so if that is important to you then i'd go with that one. Fringing, doesnt seem to be an issue on either and text clarity on both is also about the same. If i was being Super picky, and getting up close with a magnified glass the UCDP has a bit better text to my eye
@EverTechReviews I noticed that the text in games is slightly dull when compared to the qd. Lately, I've been using the M and I've noticed eye fatigue. I'm split 55 to 45 in favor of the p. It's so hard to give up that punchiness of the qd in a dark environment. It's a pick your poison kind of deal. I cannot wait for next year's 27 inch glossy woled. I'll be on the look out for your reviews as I'm a ROG fan boy. Every part of my pc except my samsung ssds and lian li fans are ROG. Great job and keep up the good work on the reviews brother 👊
@@EverTechReviews Aren't those on by default? Does it not void warranty if you turn off screen saver, auto logo brightness, and uniform brightness? It gets really punchy with all 3 off. I truly like it tbh.
if I play games like monster hunter , games usually require top image quality for the graphics cards and I have 7900xtx and if I want to run 4K to see the most beautiful views and monsters in games, which one should I pick and which oled panel shoulda I go for.
I also get eye fatigue. After gaming for a while.. im lookin to buy my first monitor, if i put either a glossy nd matte screen on low bright setting would one be better than the other ina dark room?
with low brightness i would probably go for the UCDP with the matte coating since brightness often helps to not notice glare. But if you have no reflections in the panel because you are able to control the light sources, i do prefer the way the picture looks on the UCDM.
this review has me confused. it's common knowledge that QD-OLED panel have way more color volume. So why does the M (woled) have a "wider" color gamut? did you get these mixed up? I noticed the QD-OLED panel was sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right throughout the video. WOLED should be 'brighter' with Less color, the QD OLED should be almost as bright but without losing color volume. Like a LG G4 vs a Sony A95L
When i talk about colors, i say the UCDM has a wider color gamut. It def has more vivid colors especially Reds. through the video, the QD-OLED is always on the left.
Glossy screens are still overal always better then matte ones [more clarity more colorful deeper blacks and brighter whites and sharper] thats just a fact. Its just the anti light reflect if its a problem for u or not.
Why the QD OLED looks oversaturated and cartoonish with the heavy orange tint? Those colors are a mess. WOLED seems to be making much more natural colors.
VRR flicker is unacceptable for me. The tech is not mature yet. I don't have this issue at all with my LG oled TV but on a 480 hz asus oled monitor it was very annoying.
@@ddzrt2922 it really depends on the game. It works as intended but 1080p can look pretty pixelated in a large screen. Overwatch looks great, tarkov looks terrible

I get it that Asus makes good monitor but what I find funny is the hate for lg woled was great in numbers in other channels doing it's reviews, and that the Asus cdm was way superior due to glossy display. Now we have the new CDP and it's using the LG Woled panel. Its not a similar tech. It's an actual lg panel slapped unto an Asus rog shell. Am I missing something? Aren't we just doing a review with the LG 32GS95UE panel vs the Asus rog PG32UCDM again here? Besides the other bells attached to it that is.
Great channel by the way, just subbed. It's nothing against the video it's the idea how you can get this tech already and it needed to be rebranded to be loved lol.
This version is not true gloss is the 27 inch 1440p version this 32 inch is over coated meaning they put a gloss costing above the matt coating came pre built
What I'm missing in a lot of those WOLED/QDOLED comparison videos is ...the overall life time (until it hits 50% brightness) and burn-in comparison. From what I have read, WOLED seems to have a bit more of a reserve there due to their additional white subpixels. I also read that the current QD-OLED revision might have catched up. But everything what you can read about it, seems to be a bit nebulous. Edit: @EverTechReviews, you're doing great, your channel should grow much faster.
Yeah it is hard to say long term how they will fare. I already have 1500 hours or so on mine, and so far it still looks perfect 🤷♂️. In my other video I talk about “not if” but “when” panel degradation will happen
This just proves that the whole glossy screen supremacy is just a product of opiniated youtubers such as display guy. Give both monitors to any normal tech reviewers, they make what is the sound decision than trying to influence your decision towards one panel all the time

Crazy how the lg c2 42 inch is glossy yet has no purple issue so you get best of both worlds , OLED for the win
32UCDM For some reason, if your own is HDMI, it will change to Dolby Vision gaming. When you finish the game and return to the desktop screen, HDR 10 will be displayed. If you change the brightness of the SDR from the Windows settings, you will return to Dolby Vision.
Amazing content! Appreciate the in-depth review and opinions.
Was waiting on this follow up! I’m buying one of these… which one ahhhh
Sorry it took soo long! My house was under construction and impacted my ability to film things!
Best combo Woled with Glossy panel :)
That pink tent to the black screen is a deal-breaker for me I much prefer the W OLED
Great comparison!
Best online comparison.
I hope You separate yourself from the pack by bringing up dsc alt tabbing issues. Certain issues could be a deal breaker for some. 😅
hey, cool video!! I think u forgot the xg27aqdmg, because in my eyes this is a real glossy, without the red/purple glare of the qd-oled!
@@TeeXxXs I have not had an opportunity to test that panel, but it does look like it may offer some of the best of both worlds

Random question but, what camera do you use? It's crystal clear!
@@ZeegersTV I film everything in my iPhone. This video was shot on the 15pro. I’m working on a video about that topic now actually. Will take a while to get all my thoughts together though ;)
I used to be a Glossy guy until I realised I don't want to sit in a dark room 24/7 to get the best out of the monitor.
No I didn’t, in person it looks much more white than it appears on camera.
Tired both currently own the UCDM. Gloss is fine for me and the text clarity is better on the UCDM for me.

Great Video! Keep doing it and your channel will grow quickly! 😊
What soundbar is it under the Monitor at 10:06 and are you happy with it?
I have the Razer leviathan v2 x. It has very average sound quality but does the job for what I use it for. I liked the size, price, and looks of it. I mostly use it for music and watching UA-cam. I could put together a UA-cam short on it if you are keen :)
@@EverTechReviews thanks a lot! Would be great! Thought about putting a JBL behind my UCDP but your solution looks nice as well!
Both, UCDM for my XBOX and UCDP for my PC 👍
For the lower resolution scaling, I would let the GPU do it. It should stay much more aligned to the pixels.
Great video, earned yourself a sub👍
Awesome, thank you!
Good video, explain everything thanks!
I had the lil bro of the WOLED, the XG27AQDMG. The HDR was atrocious, shadow details were eliminated entirely when HDR was set to 100/100 in nearly all HDR content. (im not talking about SDR to HDR here!)
The UCDM looks redder than the UCDP - is that due to a preset you made on that monitor to turn up the red?
@@danieldavidovsky518 to the eye it doesn’t look like that. The color temperature on both is set to the same 6500k default preset. The camera seems to pick up that panel as “warmer” for some reason.

This debate made me laugh on reddit for a while ngl, because idgaf what others prefer, i choose WOLED because of my personal preferences, past experience with glossy screen, environnement etc and you should don't give a f*** about my pref too.
Take the one you prefer and fit the most with your usage :)
Thanks for your video
Thank you for the detailed video :)
Glad it was helpful!
Its not glossy. The MLA lenses creates a veiled layer, making it look hazy. Only LG C4 and the previous generations have a clear glossy screen.
Hello Robbie! I send you a email 😄😄
there is the samsung g80sd which uses the same qd-oled panel, but has a matte coating which must be a good compromise to avoid reflections and the purple tint
It has a built in heatsink instead of fan and alot of heat goes to the big PSU.
@EverTechReviews
I noticed that the text in games is slightly dull when compared to the qd.

Can’t wait for these to get cheaper. €1300 in Europe and MSI version isn’t available
this review has me confused. it's common knowledge that QD-OLED panel have way more color volume.
Brother I think you mixed them up by yourself - the M is QD-OLED and P is WOLED.
this is good stuff
Why don’t manufacturers use Gorilla glass like what Dough does . Seems like the best of both worlds
there are starting to be some W-OLED panels with real glossy panels, i think we will see more of them next year as well.
i wish the ucdm one have the 1080p 480hz option 😭
Glossy screens are still overal always better then matte ones [more clarity more colorful deeper blacks and brighter whites and sharper] thats just a fact. Its just the anti light reflect if its a problem for u or not.
Yes but also glossy coating gets dirty very easily and cleaning it requires wiping it with a damp cloth
also the difference is barely noticeable tbh
Why the QD OLED looks oversaturated and cartoonish with the heavy orange tint? Those colors are a mess. WOLED seems to be making much more natural colors.
