      @@rijdenjawhen someone says a monitor has good viewing angles, it means the image doesn’t get worse from different angles or positions you view the monitor in. You can view it from above, to the sides, or even under the monitor and you’d still be able to make out the image as if it’s in front of you (not exactly in front of you but I hope you get the gist)

      Oh yeah i get the input lag. But i still react faster on clear images than on less clear imagery. Input lag difference is a couple of ms, reaction time could be affected by double digit ms, which is more noticeable and significant. But for sure the OLED is btr for esports though:)

    I’m reading a lot of comments from people arguing what monitor is what and which is best . I will say this, I had the 540 hz ASUS for 2 days and sold it . After getting used to the clarity at 1440p going back to 1080p felt horrible . I have a 240hz oled and a 360hz ASUS that’s 1440p with ulmb2 . The oled is currently sitting in the corner . I don’t care for the matte screens at all when it comes to oled and the difference in colors and clarity can be seen from across a room when comparing to a glossy screen . I have used a lot of high end monitors and have ordered this exact one to give a chance so we will see . I really enjoyed the 360hz Zowie I had, even more so than the 540hz ASUS . I’m for sure an above average fps gamer and with some monitors while all the specs will say it’s better that’s not always the case . It’s something you can just feel especially with tn panels . The zowie was the best I’ve used . With these 1440p monitors the advantage is in what you see . At distance there are just things I will see at 1440p on the 27 inch monitor that someone gaming on 1080p will not and after getting used to it, that advantage means a lot more than anyone realizes until they have it . On a game like cod where everyone is corner peaking and head glitching for example what you see and at what clarity and distance makes all the difference . Ulmb 2 seems to feel extremely smooth to me . Whether I play it on 240hz or 360hz it’s so clear and smooth it’s hard to tell the difference . With other monitors I’ve always been able to tell when the refresh rate was switched from 240hz to 360hz . I’m not sure why but the ASUS pg27aqn seems to be the monitor I always find myself keeping and going back to and no matter what I find myself playing better on it and I’m not exactly sure why . I’m interested to see how this 480hz oled looks and feels with the semi glossy screen I also wonder how bad the brightness gets with elmb enabled, we shall see .

      if u want 4k 240hz as well, then the dual mode should serve your needs. But if 1440P is enough for you, then for sure this 480hz 1440P is a beast. So you got to weigh your options. Do you want to play AAA tiltes in 4k 240hz or do productivity work on a 32 inch 4k display? If yes, u can consider the dual mode monitors be it the LG 32GS95UE or the Asus PG32UCDP. I practically own both of these. Now using the LG one due to aesthetic and the asus one will be probably selling it. reason i bought is i have discounts to buy either 2, so selling away i will still get profits. :)

You get 480Hz at Full HD on a 32-inch screen, which is impressive without stretching the sides in-game. The only concern is pixel clarity at 1080p on a 32-inch display. It's OK if you're not concerned about competitively play, but 1080p on 32" in a little blurry, and 32" at any res is just bigger than comfortable. You also can't run 480hz with aspect control on, so you're stuck 32". On the PG27AQDP, you can run 24.5" simulated at 480hz or 240hz BFI, which is much more competitive. It's OK as an overall monitor, but really I feel that 480hz 1080p on 32" is just kinda not useful, so I think there are better options. Optimum tech liked it for overwatch, though, so maybe it's fine for some people.

    Honestly, I said since I heard of the 540hz TN "it's pure shit". It's overpriced, washed out TN bull crap. I'd have rather had the 240hz OLED than the TN BS and the price. The price was ridiculous for the bad colors, bad brightness, bad response time (I don't mean imput lag, I mean the monitor response times), ghosting.
    Now there's the 1440p 480hz and the dual mode 4k/1080p 240hz/480hz displays that simply smoke this pile of crap TN, that is outdated as a technology and there's no upgrading it. TN is bad, always was, it was only good because it was cheap and more compact (compared to the old CRT monitors it replaced). Nobody liked it in particular, it was a necessary tradeoff.
    The 540hz TN shouldn't have costed a cent over 500 bucks, and even that is far too much

      I think the price isnt a matter of being a rip off on purpose, its a matter of serving a real small niche with small demand. As a result the panel is only being manufactured at small amounts, meaning the cost will be significantly higher. Sucks that its so expensive though, for sure

      @deathcall6663 i mean, of course its on purpose, asus set it on the end of the day. But the product literally will not exist and will not be sold if asus couldnt sell it at this price, because its such a tiny market it will be utterly pointless to even develop and put into production, and so Asus HAS to set the price as such to make the product viable, as its a business that needs to justify its actions to its profit making incentive. Is it not worth it? For most definitely for sure. But is this priced in a way that kinda makes sense, i feel like it is still.

    Real pro players use small 24 inch monitors because it's the best fit for LAN events. Zowies ARE the best 24 inch monitors. It's that's simple. As a result, eSports fanboys will always want to use what their favorite players use and become bias and want to say their monitor is #1.

      @ZXTech  Місяць тому

      @@he1go2lik3it I cant lie, I have never had an issue with flickering on these modern OLEDs - but TBF I dont need them cranked on brightness. Motion blur reduction on OLED is possible, its called Black Frame Insertion , and its early days for it, so we should wait and see IMO. When it gets cracked, Im sure OLED will take over for Esports. I wouldnt judge OLED too harshly, its early days for a whole new different kind of Tech on Monitors. With Time I am confident OLED Will fix many of what you have pointed out. MLA OLEDs, better material engineering etc are all OTW, so I wont write it off so early. As for MicroLED, I love how they are both Bright, have better contrast, have no burn in and Can possibly be integrated with ULMB/DYAC in the future, which might be what Zowie will do next. However, OLED's ability to have infinite Contrast, and Have near perfect Motion clarity (Not as good as ULMB Sure, but still leaps and Bounds beyond really any LCD without DYAC or ULMB), is exciting to me, since it means monitors can look amazing for esports even in weird resolutions or aspect ratios, because it doesnt need an Expensive Chip for Such Tech to have that excellent clarity, and as a result any OLED will at least be really good for Esports(Whether it be niche, cheap, or weird) whereas LCDs, MicroLEDs etc will need specific Tricks to keep up that wont be present on every single monitor with such panels due to cost.
