  • ‪@hookedntravel‬ Today we have another video for you. Alot of requests have been made for the Simrad Units. This is the set up of a Simrad EVO and Go Series fish finder. It works for the Evo3s, Evo3, Evo2 and Go Series. Programming these units alongside with the expert Joclyn Leung will allow you to learn your unit as well as why everything is done. Going through the settings yourself is great for helping to learn your fish finder unit and for a better experience on the water. This helps to increase your odds of finding fish. If at any point you ever need to re-program your unit you can refer back to this video.
    This seminar is by Prostaff and Electronics Expert Joclyn Leung of Angling Outfitters in Woodstock, Ontario. He has over 35 years experience in Electronics and owns one of the biggest stores in Canada at Angling Outfitters in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. Joclyn is considered one of the most knowledgable experts in Canada. People travel to his store from hours away to shop and buy from his store.

    Another great video on the Simrad units. Look forward to seeing more vids on both Simrad and Lowrance including more advanced settings and advice on which units suit certain types of fishing

    Graet tutorial, though I have got a question and glad if you answer. does that side scan and down scan work effectively for100 meters of depth? Thanks

      @hookedntravel  28 днів тому

      yes but you've got to under stand your limitations. 455khz is going to have more range and deeper penetration but not as much details. You're going to have increase the contrast quite a bit. You are probably at the sidescan and downscan limits though

    How come some NSS evo3s come with the marlin background with the icons in a row of 4 and some with the black background with the rows of 3? Can you change it? Thanks

    Do you guys have much to do with Garmin GPSMAP sounders? Would be interested in your thoughts in comparison with Simrad units.

      not a whole lot. We sell the odd one here and there at the store. They're alot harder to program I know that.

      if you have everything wired up properly with the proper connections, and appropriate hardware. You probably have to go into the settings and features to turn on that option. Some features are turned off automatically to reduce clutter on screen when some users won't have that interface

    My unit does not have the Murcury icon to select from. We installed vessel view and can't use it.

      you probably have to go into the settings ---> features and turn on the feature for autopilot and motor support. Is it hooked up to the nmea network?

    • @burners13
      @burners13 10 місяців тому

      Thank you for your quick reply. We turned on the Autopilot, but no motor support box to check?? Yes it's hooked to the NEMA backbone. @@hookedntravel

      @@burners13 are you getting supply from the nmea? Check the fuse. Check the network and it should show if it’s getting data.

    Can a HDS Live and NSS talk to each other?

    • @hookedntravel
      @hookedntravel  2 роки тому

      they can talk to each other and share data. But the official answer is no, just because they can't guarantee compatibility with each new software update. But some people have run lowrance/simrad units seamlessly for a long time and talk to each other perfectly as if they were the same. Alot of simrad and lowrance run very similar operating systems and hardware. I run all lowrance units myself. So my knowledge on this is more on the limited side.
