I've watched a few videos on the Go9 and this is by far the best. You've just got a knack of explaining simply and clearly. I've learned a lot. Thank you
i can just sit all day and learn from your vids. You should be a professor.learnt a lot of ideas from u so far.Just need to get my own now and follo0w u through until I get comfy with it.Thanks Aqua lifestyle
Awesome video. Thank you! Do you have any videos on how to export waypoints, routes and such from the GO9 to computer? Maybe a video on the App as well? thanks again.
I have a mercury vessel view 703 / Simrad G7. I want to replace my old Airmar temp / depth through hull transducer. I need one with 20 degree offset. Any suggestions?
On the GO series this is not an optional feature. It requires traditional sonar(Non chirp) to be run while viewing Structure scan. Just select the 50 or 200 khz option in the frequencies setting under the sonar menu. This will allow you to run traditional sonar and structure imagery at the same time.
i have a group of kids in individual kayak , but I haven't seen a video discussing mirror on cell phone and setup. can you do a video on that/appreciate
My simrad go9 has a slow pentium processor, its glitchy , slow to respond , sometimes the sun and usage has the screen so hot it wont respond to the touch screen , im shopping for something better ..
Hey mate i've noticed that the scroll speed is not smooth and is twitchy on the unit you are using. I have been running Lowrance HDS and after installing the latest update my scroll speed is like this and it will freeze altogether making sounder inoperable. My Local Lowrance dealer (I live in Australia) who is a marine electronics installer has looked at it and been talking Navico about it. The unit is still inside warranty and only started playing up after the update was installed but Navico wont replace it, they are offering a replacement unit at a reduced price. I came across your videos doing research on Simrad as i was thinking of trying to change over to Simrad at the reduced price. Why is the scroll speed on the unit you are using not smooth? Have you come across the issue i am having before? Thanks
Generally when scrolling is not smooth it is because the data is not loading fast enough because the processor is struggling to keep up. Sometimes this happens because the data or detail for that chart is taking a lot of ram to process. What kind of cartography are you running in the Lowrance? If you are under warranty Navico should fix the issue of it locking up for you. It may need the software to be reloaded. I would check to see if there has been a newer software update since your latest attempt and try loading that if there is. If your problem of it locking up persists I would contact Navico and have them honor the warranty. They won't do it for the twitchy scrolling but should do something for the software locking up. Good luck.
Are you running a navico chip in the machine ? Will it run wiyh out it ? Try that , there chips is what causes my simrad go9 to freeze up and such , there chip programming is garbage , it fights against operating procedure in the simrad , it might be why mine was getting hot also ..i got it with the simrad go9 unit , and another chip came with it also for inland lakes , cant remember what the other chip is called , or which one was for fl. Inland lakes at the moment ..im looking for a better chip , i only got two chip slots
Your right. and thanks for pointing that out. It seems we missed it in editing. The TVG adjustment is to help with surface noise at the top of the sounder image. If your boat is bouncing around in rough seas for example, it can be turned up to reduce surface noise. It works similarly to gain but just at the surface. Keep in mind that the higher it is turned up, the less sensitive it becomes.

Can you leave Echo in Medium or High chirp while using Down or Side scan?

Towards the end you mentioned 'minute maker' but didn't elaborate... I assume it has no value?
