- Bridgette and Thomas White have been married for 20 years. They have three children, Tessa, Tori and Timothy "Trevor." Trevor had an early, hard lesson on racism in Louisiana.
Their mannerisms/ interaction with each other speaks volumes! They seem very comfortable together.

My parents had the same talk with me when I was a child. It made me so much stronger. I love things to be different and diverse. My father is black and my mother is white. For BOTH my biological AND my adoptive parents. I love it. People ask me about my background. I am proud of my ethnic roots. I am African-German by descent. It made my reports about my family history in school more interesting and more extensive. My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary July 3rd, 2020. I am so happy and consider them an inspiration. They had to deal with hatred and bigotry towards their relationship. However, here they are 40 years married, two grown biracial children, and proof that it can work.

Am I the only one baffled about how Americans still are so segregated? Thinking in skin color and culture, even the non-racists. You see this in their language, governmental systems etc., pretty crazy man. It's sad how they even need a UA-cam channel to normalize it. But what is there to normalize? What I hate most about interracial couples is that you only see white people stand up against racism and prejudice when they are immediately impacted. Why must we mix in order to have respect and understanding that hatred is wrong for any human. This is my problem with IR... I don't have to fuck you to respect you. My people started this hatred and we must end it. But we will have a bigger impact in change if we learn to respect people of color, allow them to live out their days within their culture and stop looking over our shoulder wondering if the blacks are going to do to me what my ancestors and my white privilege has done to them.

I have been looking at different IR couples and I noticed when it's a white man dating or married to a woman of a different ethnicity you rarely see or don't see negative comments. On-the-other-hand, if the man is black dating or married IR, than I see several negative feedback or comments. It makes u wonder huh.

I think it's because up until maybe the past decade or so, black women overall seemed to only want a black man. For example, I was one of about 20 black women that I knew closely who dated/sexed/and even procreated my now 25 year old son with a non black man. I knew at a young age that I would not be limiting myself in love/sex.
i respect her for keeping it real about how we all have some form of racism in us...but its because of what we were taught...i think most ppl fight it

My biracial children are now 43 and 41. Their college educated father became a Crack addict in 1981 ( one of the OGs of Crack addicts). We divorced and I raised my children in the intercity where I taught for 33 years. These kids seemed to have been raised with mostly white people. Some of the things this mom says shows how a misguided and ignorant (unaware) she is. I explained they could check any race box they wanted to since multiracial was not an option in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Children need to know their historical background on both sides. How can you know yourself without an understanding of your history?
