- John and Carol Zippert, married on Aug. 13, 1967, were the first interracial couple to wed in Louisiana. Among their civil rights and other activist work, the Zipperts run a newspaper, the Greene County Democrat, in Eutaw, Ala. The Zipperts have three children, two girls and a boy, all high school valedictorians who graduated from Xavier University in New Orleans. Two of their children are employed in engineering fields and one in the medical field.
They and their conversation should be used as the basis for having the "conversation" on Race in the country. They are so honest.
Your story should be made into a movie.
Beautiful couple 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
I graduated with their daughter Rachel .
That man does not look white to me. He has a swirl to him. The couple don't look like they are interracial, that's how much they both look alike in terms of phenotype and melanin.
Damned!!!!! A Mexican Santa Clause.
Thats not nice
Still amazed how in North América the category "White" has acquired such a strong sense of exclusiveness. Even to the extent of considering as non-white people from Mediterranean Europe, or even Ireland. In Europe we would differentiate people as Nordic/Scandinavian, British, Eastern, Central or Southern European/Mediterranean, North African, Etc... For sure a Central/South African person would be considered black. But the closest to the N-American term 'white' (in the sense of Just northern, central, eastern European) that comes to my mind, would be what the Nazis designated as Aryan, which could even exclude people as White as the actor Paul Newman, who was of Jewish descent.
I can’t see any different btw their skin tones .
Nice to see a mix couple besides black men n white women.
I ‘m so fix up of this black and white issue ,we are all god children,I should not be responding to this ,but this is how American is built. This is why Americans are having all this problems from all different countries.
Yes...you can unlearn it because racism is learned.
