Definitely the videos with your teaching and voiceover are by far the best. I watched that video without the voice for only a couple of minutes. You’re teaching voiceover is what makes these videos top-notch. Keep it up!
I don’t need the asmr videos to sleep. I prefer all the noise and talking. Yes I watch the videos but I throw the older ones I’ve watched on to fall asleep if that makes sense🤦🏻♂️
I totally agree with you all, the voice over is the best. I also saw the no voice over version and to tell you the truth I just didn’t like it, the piece was amazing, but the no voice was not for me. This is a learning channel if some people don’t like it, they can mute it or watch another channel, it will not be as good as this channel trust me. I have watched other channels and will not go back. Jim keep doing it your way and forget about the critics. God bless
I love these more "simple" style bowls. The epoxy bowls, hollowforms etc LOOK more intricate with all the different colours, but these with just inlays really let the wood do all the work and REALLY show off your turning skills! As for your ASMR videos... I would stop them. There are very few people who actually prefer them, and the VAST majority of us are here for you and your commentary. You provide huge amounts of detailed information about the process, but you also let us into your private life to a small extent and your personality and wit shine out! OK, that's enough praise!! Take care, Jim. Hope the latest house viewings work out for you and I'm looking forward to next week's pine cones! Cheers!
Hi Jim Ian from Liverpool England here, ahh the good old day's. Nice to re visit a style of bowl that was successful for you when you were building your business, fantastic pieces as usual and a nice trip down memory lane 😀 😊
Thank you so much for doing some inlays. Love your resin work, but the inlays on figured hardwoods is still my favorites! Keep throwing in the occasional non-resin, i appreciate it! I enjoy your format, informational and entertaining. Thanks again! Designer Epoxy.
As much as I love your creations with Expoxy and I do love them I found this video was awesome. Thank you for explaining the process as you go. Beautiful bowls!.
I love both these bowls. How you come up with all these designs is truly amazing. You are THE master as far as I’m concerned. It’s the little details that you pay close attention to that is proof of that statement. 😊
I definitely prefer the videos with the voice overs. That black walnut couldn't be more beautiful! But I simply can't get over the gorgeous wood you used for the double inlay bowl, a truly magnificent piece. Lucky owners. Designer Epoxy
The inlay on the sides is so cool! I wonder if an inlay could be possible that is wiggly, like a snake, as it goes around the top of the bowl. Also, I think you could do a mini series on how you set up to be at a show. Discuss typical booth rental options, tables and stands you used, transporting products, how many products you brought, did you bring flyers and business cards, how long were the typical days at the events .. just everything.
That would be a cool inlay. I will try to cover the show thing in the future. It kind of hard to do the setup thing without actually setting a booth up and I don’t do show anymore, but I will give it a go. Thanks for the suggestions!
Awesome to see you going back to your roots. I’m one of the subscribers who love the inlay work. Thanks for a great “advanced technique” tutorial. Designer epoxy.
Greetings, Jim. We watch all your videos. Have learned so much from you. Thank you. Keep those videos coming. Greetings from Upstate NY. Go 🇨🇦 Canada. ❤
While you are a master of designer epoxy it's nice to see you get back to yourvrootswith inlay bowls. I've been watching for years and it was your bowlsthstbinspired mectobstartvturning when I retired. Thsnks... for you
I love the inlay! Especially the one that was chunky! Never realized how beautiful smashed shells could look! I really just love watching you and your channel. Thank you for sharing on you tube. I would not have any other way of being exposed to this medium. The artist in me is so fascinated!
Feeling the nostalgia from your earliest videos. Love, love, love these bowls, Jim. Never miss with the walnut. And the spalted beech is so beautiful. Cheers!! Designer Epoxy
I think there is an audience for the ASMR stuff, but I'm sure most of us subscribed because we enjoy the voiceover. Maybe a second channel with ASMR stuff is the answer so it doesn't mess with the algorithm for the main.
Dear Jim, every minute of your videos, your explanations about all your doings, specially your woodturnings, all that's lessons to me (your community too, I think). Stay tuned for more of awesome projects like this.
Both of these bowls are beautiful! The maple has such amazing character and the transformation with that first coat of finish is just so fun to watch. And, I was cracking up at the end. You've got such a fun attitude!! Thanks for sharing!!
I love listening to your commentary as you work! And Canadian accents are the best 😊 Two beautiful pieces today. I usually go for walnut, but the spalted birch is my favorite.
Hi Jim. Two beautiful inlaid bowls. I watched right to the end as I do with all your videos as I learn so much from you. I love both the course and the fine mussel shell inlays as both make a vine statement. Many thanks. Rob from the UK.
I love both of these bowls, but by far my favorite is the larger shell pieces. Thank you for doing an inlay on the side of the bowl. I have been wanting to do that but haven't had the courage yet. Thanks for posting
lovely inlays this week... thanks for sharing them with us... LOVE the look of the large shells... but the contrast of the dark wood and the small shells is everything...
😂😂😂 That end footage has me cackling, you're a good sport, Jim! It's always fun to have 2 bowls to compare in one video! These 2 are elegant and classic beauties. I love the chunkier inlay for the colour, lots of purple which I ADORE. I love the finer inlay for the texture, that beautiful, almost granite stone-like speckle and sheen. I love the colour and the spalting in the maple bowl, but I love the shape/profile and the chatoyance in the walnut bowl. It's impossible for me to pick a favourite because of loving completely different things about each one! What a spectacular pair, Jim, thank you for sharing these with us, and for chucking a good-natured giggle in at the end! I hope the posing was as fun for you as it looked!
I love the black walnut, it's still my favorite wood, and the spalting on the birch is gorgeous, the inlays are beautiful, love the mussel shell. I do love the voiceover videos, but I also enjoy watching the asmr videos too.
These bowls both turned out beautifully. When you mentioned the inlays Last week I was so happy to see this episode. When you said it was mussels I was trepidatious at that idea. I was surprised at how nicely they both turned out, especially the spalted birch with the larger chips. That said, I think your choice of the black walnut for the fine ground shells was the best choice for that bowl. The spalted birch really showcased the side and top inlay with the chipped shells. One thing I liked about the chips is I can see the various colors more easily in larger chips. The fine ground shells had a beautiful, almost, iridescent quality. The wood choice you made for these bowls was spot on for the shells size and texture. I think the larger chips mimic a granite, enhancing and bringing that spalting up as if to say, "check out these fine lines". I checked them out and they were beautiful. Black walnut... need I say more?? Well yeah!! with the diamond dust, pave, and iridescence glitter, this combination is also a hit out of the park. Beautiful contrast showcased in this piece of artwork. I believe the Jim Sprague Woodturning Shop was busy, busy, busy on this week and there were some beautiful pieces turned out here! Thanks Jim! Designer Epoxy
Voice overs for the win!! 👍 great job this week😉 as for more inlay ideas not sure if you have done wood and resin but with inlay rim into resin? The faces at the end are priceless 🤣 love it ! Designer Epoxy
🤣🤣🤣 Love the very end. 😂😂😂 The shape of walnut is super adorable. Thanks for the tutorials on the curved and side inlays. I have watched almost all of your videos and don’t remember you doing curved or side with a crushed substance.
A two fer 1 to start this weekend. The Walnut bowl is beautiful. The Spalted wood bowl is an absolute heritage piece. Congratulations to you and the new owner Thanks, Jim. Enjoy your weekend Brother.🍾🍻
Two awesome bowls. I like both inlays but my favorite is the larger pieces. Your dialogue makes your videos extremely valuable as a learning tool for us. Thank you! Designer Epoxy
Never seen inlays made before, that's amazing. Beautiful blue and the pearl from the shell. Very nice! Please keep explaining, makes the videos more interesting.
Beautiful bowls - both beautiful and totally different - the wood grain makes them very interesting. I love watching your videos, and your commentary makes the videos more entertaining. Thank you for sharing your talent and teaching us as you go.
Good morning 🌅 Jim, The end result crazy 🤪 😮😅😂, keep taking the medication 💊, I was Bowled over 😂, which one to choose, I think 🤔 the Cherry 🍒 splatted is definitely 💯 the best, the walnut is very good too, This is a good 👍🏻 news week for you guys hopefully,🤞 x , offer on your property, I have had very bad internet issues in the past 2 weeks, hopefully sorted now, And I am on the road again with my Hog , Stay Safe, looking 👀 forward to next week, all being well, France,
Both absolutely stunning! Another fantastic job Jim. For me the voice overs are always the best. I'm an absolute beginner and the voice overs always help me out. Thx and take care. Designer Epoxy
Your artistry is always on display with the differing color contrasts from the Designer Epoxy as well as the myriad inlay materials. That being said, I'm always amazed at the natural beauty Mother Nature imparts especially on these woods. Keep up the great work. P.S. - loved the expressions in the video of the thumbnails.
I say again “WOW”! I’m glad you have these sold, because, I don’t know which one I like better. Using the smaller crushed Mussel on the curve of the Maple was great to see how it was done! Using the larger pieces to do the inlays on the Spalded Maple is beautiful! They look different, but are both fantastic! Thanks for sharing how to do this! Dik Designer Epoxy
I never would have thought that something as commonplace as mussel shells could be so brilliant in a bed of glue!
Thank you so much! Its my favorite!
I absolutely love the bowl with the double inlay. It's amazing that you have time to do 2 pieces at the same time.
Thanks so much!
Definitely the videos with your teaching and voiceover are by far the best. I watched that video without the voice for only a couple of minutes. You’re teaching voiceover is what makes these videos top-notch. Keep it up!
Glad you like them! Thanks
I agree. I really enjoy your videos and learn so much.
Love your narration!

Yep! 🎉
Back to the beginnings. Love the inlays. Love the use of epoxy Love the voiceovers with the details. Designer Epoxy
Thanks so much!

Stunning work Jim 👌
Your inlay bowls are beautiful
The spalted maple is absolutely amazing
The black walnut is very classy
Thank you very much!
Hi Jim Ian from Liverpool England here, ahh the good old day's. Nice to re visit a style of bowl that was successful for you when you were building your business, fantastic pieces as usual and a nice trip down memory lane 😀 😊
Thanks so much Ian! Appreciate your comments!
Hi Ian, I'm a stone's throw away from you (Manchester-ish).
Ian, I'm even closer - Liverpool!
Very cool inlays Jim..
Designer Epoxy
Nice to see I'm not the only one from across the pond haha 😆
I love the inlays. These pieces are beautiful Jim. Love the bigger bowl, gorgeous
Thank you very much!
I do love your ongoing commentary as you go along.
Thanks so much!
Jim, I like the two rings of mussels and the grain patterns. Your voice over is really required!
Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
I love your wood and epoxy pieces, but there is a simple purity to your inlay work that is just lovely. Thank you for bringing this back to us.
You are very welcome!
Amazing inlays. That spalted maple is just amazing to look at. What a beauty. Another fun watch. Look forward to next Friday. Cheers. Designer epoxy.
Thanks 👍
Oh yes, just absolutely love these bowls. Wood, grain, inlay, you just can't beat these.
Thanks so much!
Nice! Inlay in the top and sides- sweet. Beautiful sheen and that's a bowl that gets handed down through generations
Thank you very much!
That spalted birch is absolutely stunning. Nice to see natural inlays again. I really love the inlay on the side.
Thank you very much!
The bowl looks fantastic and the inlay is beautiful . Great job!! 💜💜👍👍🤩🤩😍🥰

I love and watch every minute of you videos. I love to watch artist work their medium and make beautiful things from nothing. Its like magic to me.
Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for doing some inlays. Love your resin work, but the inlays on figured hardwoods is still my favorites! Keep throwing in the occasional non-resin, i appreciate it! I enjoy your format, informational and entertaining. Thanks again! Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Hey everyone! We have an awesome live chat every Friday morning (Central standard time). Come join us! Jim is one of the best woodturners!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
As much as I love your creations with Expoxy and I do love them I found this video was awesome. Thank you for explaining the process as you go. Beautiful bowls!.
Jim that's two stunning pieces super well done 🙂👍
The inlay bowls turned out great! I never would have thought to use mussel shells as an inlay material but they're stunning! Designer epoxy
I've been doing mussel shell inlays for over 20 years and they are still my favorite, thanks!
I wonder how many times I can say I love watching the care and artistry of your work before the algorithm gets suspicious.
Your good, lol. Thank you very much!
Hi Jim, the shells are a beautiful effect but the wood on both are stunning. Have a great weekend.
Thank you very much!
Impossible to choose a favourite! They are both gorgeous.
Thank you very much!
I love both these bowls. How you come up with all these designs is truly amazing. You are THE master as far as I’m concerned. It’s the little details that you pay close attention to that is proof of that statement. 😊
Thanks so much 😊
You never cease to amaze me Jim ,looks great
Thanks so much!
ASMR should be its own channel. I’m not into it but friends are and they find favorite channels.
Thanks for this.
Jimmy, love the inlays!! You need a standup routine at the comedy club!!! Best last minute memes!!! 😂
I will fire up the mic, haha. Thanks
The bowls turned out amazing with the inlays you did, Jim. Absolutely stunning.
Thanks very much!
The maple bowl is the bomb 💣 😋 😍 👌. I love both inlays. I'd almost forgotten how beautiful wood without epoxy can be.
Thanks very much!
Both your bowls are very nice and I like the form on both of them and nice inlay work on them too . Glad to see more of this kind of turning you do .
Glad you like them!
Ohh ..lovely shade of purple. My friend M would love it!
💜
Thank you! Cheers!
The bowl with the 2 inlays is so gorgeous! Love the character of the wood and the beautiful large oyster shell. The 2nd bowl is also beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy. Well that was fun to watch. Two beauties for sure.
Glad you liked it! Thanks so much!
Even though I am not a turner, I enjoy hearing your explanations, insights, and processing thoughts.
The side inlays were fascinating.
Beautiful work.
I appreciate that! Thanks
I definitely prefer the videos with the voice overs.
That black walnut couldn't be more beautiful!
But I simply can't get over the gorgeous wood you used for the double inlay bowl, a truly magnificent piece. Lucky owners.

Thanks very much!
I definitely love your voice overs! Back to your basics again…. Beautiful inlays 💕
Glad you like them! Thanks
I love to watch you do inlay work. The finish really makes them pop. Gorgeous!
Thank you very much!
AWESOME! I LOVE it when you do the inlays best!! 👏🤩
Both bowls are gorgeous; however, the silver birch…OMG! This bowl is in your top 5 inlay bowls!
Thanks so much!
The inlay on the sides is so cool! I wonder if an inlay could be possible that is wiggly, like a snake, as it goes around the top of the bowl. Jim, my wife and I really got a chuckle from your expressions at the end of the video, also we like when you use Designer epoxy in your turnings.
Ha ha! My wife made me add that! Glad you enjoyed it! More epoxy this Friday!
I love how you varied the placement of the inlays and the shape of the one bowl, it adds so much interest to the pieces
Thanks very much!
I love the more chunky inlay, that is my favorite. I also like the commentary in the videos, they are my preference.
Ok, thanks!
I usually watch the teaching videos! Both beautiful bowls, love the inlays!
Awesome! Thank you!
Love your work! You are so humble and honest
I appreciate that! Thanks

Hi Jim
Very interesting to see the double inlay & how you put it around the side of the bowl. It was fascinating work. Looks lovely 45:06
Many thanks!
Definitely voice over videos (Philippines)
Thank you very much!
The inlaid shells came out beautifully!
Thank you so much!
I think there is an audience for the ASMR stuff, but I'm sure most of us subscribed because we enjoy the voiceover. Maybe a second channel with ASMR stuff is the answer so it doesn't mess with the algorithm for the main.
Possibly, but I’m maxed out with this channel. Thanks
It is always a good thing to laugh at yourself. Beautiful work again this week. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
Dear Jim, every minute of your videos, your explanations about all your doings, specially your woodturnings, all that's lessons to me (your community too, I think). Stay tuned for more of awesome projects like this.
Awesome, thank you!
Two exceptional inlay bowls with both having so much character.
Loved "the many faces of Jim" at the end of the video
Thank you very much!
Both of these bowls are beautiful! The maple has such amazing character and the transformation with that first coat of finish is just so fun to watch. And, I was cracking up at the end. You've got such a fun attitude!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much!
I love listening to your commentary as you work! And Canadian accents are the best 😊
Two beautiful pieces today. I usually go for walnut, but the spalted birch is my favorite.
Thank you very much!
These bowls are gorgeous. The natural beauty shines.
Thank you very much!
These bowls are amazing! I love the biger shell pieces the best as they are a deeper color. Great job, Jim!
Thanks so much!
Hi Jim. Two beautiful inlaid bowls. I watched right to the end as I do with all your videos as I learn so much from you. I love both the course and the fine mussel shell inlays as both make a vine statement.
Many thanks.
Rob from the UK.
Thank you very much!
I love both of these bowls, but by far my favorite is the larger shell pieces. Thank you for doing an inlay on the side of the bowl. I have been wanting to do that but haven't had the courage yet. Thanks for posting
My pleasure, thanks!
I can't decide which one I like better! Both of the bowls look amazing!
Thank you very much!
lovely inlays this week... thanks for sharing them with us... LOVE the look of the large shells... but the contrast of the dark wood and the small shells is everything...
Thank you very much!
Love them both

Loved the photo session at the end! Cracked up when you couldn't keep a straight face! 😆
Thanks so much! 🤣
Love the look of the mussel shells inlay! Beautiful finished wood work bowls! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much! Thanks you for watching!
I love the black walnut, it's still my favorite wood, and the spalting on the birch is gorgeous, the inlays are beautiful, love the mussel shell. I do love the voiceover videos, but I also enjoy watching the asmr videos too.
Thank you very much!
WOW Jim. They're gorgeous. REALLY dig the spalted bowl with mussel inlay. Immaculate.
Thanks so much!

I believe the Jim Sprague Woodturning Shop was busy, busy, busy on this week and there were some beautiful pieces turned out here! Thanks Jim! Designer Epoxy
Wow! Thank you very much!
I really enjoy the wood and epoxy pieces. But I absolutely love the graining of the different woods, and the inlays just add that extra bling ❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
Love the bowls. The inlay and spalting on the one bowl is amazing. Also loved the bonus BTS footage at the end.
Thank you very much!
The bowl with the tip inlay only had that solid surface material look to it.
Outstanding work!
Designer Epoxy.
Thank you! Cheers!
Voice overs for the win!! 👍 great job this week😉 as for more inlay ideas not sure if you have done wood and resin but with inlay rim into resin?
The faces at the end are priceless 🤣 love it !
Designer Epoxy
It's on the list of things to do, thanks!
Both so beautiful Jim but the Birch is the winner. Love love love the spalting and the inlay. I could look at that bowl forever 😍
Many thanks!
Love the inlay on the side of the spalted and the shape of the black walnut bowl is spectacular. As always, great work.
Thank you very much!
🤣🤣🤣 Love the very end. 😂😂😂 The shape of walnut is super adorable. Thanks for the tutorials on the curved and side inlays. I have watched almost all of your videos and don’t remember you doing curved or side with a crushed substance.
Yes, this was the first two. Thank you very much!
So beautiful, I don’t know which is more beautiful. Your mussels look amazing.
