Not only did we get the bucket fight, but we got to see the piece hold on to the bottom of the bucket like a dog with a bone. I'd have a hard time letting that house go just for the deck and kitchen. Beautifully done. Oh, wow it looks like an underwater volcano. And the light enhanced it. So cool!
Jim…. I wake up at 5:40am every Friday just to watch you. You are 3 hours ahead of where I live. I’m down southwest in the lower 48 in Arizona. I was going to go look around for some of the Cholla & Saguaro 🌵 skeletons for you. I hope I can find some without going too far into the desert. Anyway, I love your bowl & vases you make!! It’s worth getting up early to watch you spin something new and beautiful. Thank you for your talent and your knowledge on wood & resins. Even though I’ll never be able to do this, it’s still nice to learn about it!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
It really is incredible when you think about it, but a lot of the time the ugliest piece of wood is hiding the most gorgeous grain and colour. It just takes some time and patience for a true artist to bring it out. Love the colour of epoxy used. Great bowl Jim.
I absolutely love how hard this piece makes you look at it! The rivers of blue, the highlights of red, the dimension and colors of the wood, this is spectacular! Designer Epoxy has a gorgeous turquoise! So glad you saved this bural, what a beautiful bowl! Great job, Jim!
These are some of my favorite pieces. The pencil line spalted maple with multiple wood colors. The natural edge with the epoxy collar. I love the turquoise. (Chef's kiss). Such a beautiful piece. Thank you for inviting us into your home. I remodel houses as a career. The kitchen looks awesome. The quartz and white subway tile backsplash really offset and compliment the dark finish of the cabinets. Huge fan of the large kitchen island. Cheers!!! Designer Epoxy
If you bury a St. Joseph statue upside down in your yard it helps attract buyers. I know several people who had houses for sale and it worked. Have faith
Love this bowl. Everything about it just jumps out. The red really makes it unique. Designer Epoxy is so useful in saving this wood from the fire pit. I would love to have this bowl for a nut bowl. I think with the wood and the nuts it would compliment each other.
What a beautiful bowl. The red bits just pop and adds an ocean-esque to it. An art piece you could just stare at for hours. Beautiful kitchen and deck, but the housing market has crashed everywhere. Good luck with the house.
designer epoxy - i really like that you salvaged something that easily could have discarded and made it; bti a really cool piece. i like how the wood had darker and lighter sections and the blue really sets things off. nice stuff!
Jim, congratulations on making 130K! This bowl is gorgeous! Nice save! The burl figures are stunning next to the blue. The figuring (??) in the epoxy along the burl coastline is captivating! Well done!
Absolutely love the hints of red throughout the piece. The designer epoxy is stunning! Excellent job making a beautiful bowl out of a questionable piece of wood!
Jim, just as you stated in your intro, i was wondering if it was salvagable. We you sure answered that question. I love the hints of red and the small turquoise veins running through the interior of the bowl. You never cease to amaze with your vision and expertise. Well done, Sir!
What a stunning piece, the red looks like flowing lava coming down a mountain side set to a beautiful misty blue horizon swirling with steam. Have a great weekend and congratulations on the beautiful upgrades to your house!
I love that color! Between the burl and the epoxy, I wish I could afford to buy it. It's been like that here in Utah, US, the temperature were high. As my handle implies, I was out in the heat, dodging hornets and working in the heat all day. Designer Epoxy.
Oh Wow! When you showed us what you had at the start I really had my doubts, but you created absolute magic! The colour of the resin with the dramatic contrasts in the burl are fantastic! PS - If I lived in Canada and were house hunting I would love buying your home. The improvements you did look great!
Wow Jim, that bowl is beautiful! The Burl/wood came out gorgeous, and the epoxy looks awesome, great colour. Love the red speckling throughout... Those "magic" red spots that just appeared!!! 😉
Designer epoxy has its advantages being a slow cure. Stabilizing that burl with what I use would have been a lot more difficult being such a fast cure It would require two separate operations. Beautiful house. Lee
Wow that is a real from trash to treasure piece. The colors (even the hints of red) are awesome. Loved the updated deck & kitchen. Good luck with selling the piece & the house. Designer epoxy
Jim, you did it again!! This is a beautiful wood rescue project. I truly love the flecks of red. I lived in the high desert area of Arizona, and after a heavy rain occasional pops of "odd" colors jump out of the red rock cliffs. The bowl is as beautiful as the cliffs in the wet season. Thank you so much for giving a sad piece of wood a new life!!
Ok Jim the work you and your wife have done on your home is wonderful. Really great work, your home is beautiful. The job you did on this bowl is also very well done. I love the red dots they look like little beacons. That bowl is gorgeous 😍. Designer epoxy
Well you have done it again!! Taken a piece of wood that looked ready for the burn pile and turned it into a beautiful useful item. I really like the look of this bowl. I admire your turning skills. Designer Epoxy
The designer epoxy can really work wonders when you know what you are doing. Love the colors and the size is great for a fruit bowl. You and your Wife have done a fantastic job on the house. I really like the deck. The kitchen is awesome. Great job on the bowl. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
You call this a rescue piece and I understand it being referred to as that, but you worked magic on this piece and it is one absolutely stunning bowl! Your vision on how you'd like something to turn out is amazing. I love this piece! Great job!!! 😊 Designer Epoxy
You made a fantastic job of the outside and kitchen, I'd definitely bye the house of we lived in Canada, the space would be fantastic for all my husband vintage tractors. You also made a beautiful bowl I love the colour 🇬🇧❤
So cool!
Thanks so much!
Another piece of firewood saved by Mr Sprague and Designer Epoxy. Very nice work as always
Thank you! Cheers! 😂
Beautiful bowl, it looks like the landscape of a creator with the sky on the horizon I love it.
Thank you! Cheers!
The house looks amazing. Also interesting to see you reclaim what most would consider a lost cause and make it into another artwork.
Thanks so much!
The little red accents works well for this bowl. I like it a lot! 😍
Thanks so much!
From the outside, it's a mountain range against a bright blue sky, with touches of all kinds of colors from the sun on bits of the range. lovely.
Thanks so much!
Great save and the Designer Epoxy look great as well.
Thank you! Cheers!

Could be! Thanks so much!
Love it, the blue with the little pops of red
Thanks so much!

I buried a St Mary’s statue upside down in the front of my house and we had a buyer within 2 weeks.
We’ve had one buried out at the sign upside down for months now. No luck, thanks.
Lol
I like this one very much. I LIKE the little mystery red.😊
That didn't work for me either.
Love the two tone of that burl and that turquoise is marvellous! It complements the red very well.
I think so too. Thanks so much!
