I would go for more than 64GB if you plan on keeping it for 5 years. Apple makes lots of upgrades and you want to account for that. But it sucks air doesn’t make a 128GB one :(
While this video is very useful for some people, I believe you missed a key demographic. Engineering students. I am an engineering student and the LiDAR sensor has completely changed how I use my iPad. If you do anything with cad modeling the LiDAR sensor allows you to take a pre-existing object and make an accurate cad file in seconds. The AR capabilities also cannot be understated since you can project you cad models into the real world for scale. The iPad Pro 11 inch is pretty much required for an engineering student in my eyes, and the 12.9 inch for a mechanical, civil, or engineering design student. Other than that, this video was very informative!
Just bought the iPad Air 4, 64gb version yesterday and I’m more than satisfied. I use GoodNotes 5 for note taking and I know that the storage on this iPad is more than sufficient for my university work.
I chose the 13 inch pro because of the fact that I needed the Apple Pencil since math notes with a keyboard is basically impossible. And I liked the size resembling a sheet of paper. I’m overall really happy with it and if you really want the size I’d say it’s worth the extra cash
This review was great! Totally agreed with your opinion on the "useless" features. I chose the iPad air 256 because I want that extra wiggle room but I want my device to be light weight. I'm going digital for grad school so having an iPad that can store my digital textbooks and notes is perfect.
Its depend on person, usage, budget and environment of ecosystem available For my case after a thorough research, i decided to buy TabS7 instead of ipad Air(i hv note10lite & iphone12mini) My reason is: 1) My environment mostly windows PC and Samsung smart TV. So its much easier to transfer large file using cable and connect to smartTV. In my country most ppl use android anyway. And iMessage was rarely used. Coz whatsaap 2) price VS what i get. For $663 i get Spen, magnetic keyboard cover case, magnetic cover kickstand. 4 speaker (better than ipad air), wifi only 6GB RAM 128GB ROM. 3) clipboard manager. As someone who make a lot of notes for works and class studies. This is very important as i can do multiple copy (text, image, hand writing & pages) and can do multiple Paste 30 latest item copied. Also have option to lock/pin the item in clipboard 4) Samsung Dex can convert Tablet Ui into Windows Like UI, so doing multitasking is much easier compare to tablet mode especially when using mouse and keyboard. I do a lot of work Microsoft office using samsung Dex, really like it 5) i can play any GAMES with mouse and keyboard coz android support V3 shooting apps. The apps floating on screen and you can Map keyboard button. So i play CODM, PUBGM, Genshin Impact with mouse and keyboard I have no issue recommend Ipad to my friends, but depend on their usage, budget and environment. Coz there are something ipad do better and there are something samsung do better

imo, 64 isn't enough for anybody, let alone students with lots of notes. 128 is the best option, but it might be pushing it a little, depending on your usage. for me, 256 is the sweet spot. you'll never have to ration or worry about storage, but it's not an obscene amount, you know?
64gb is enough if u consider paying for icloud/google drive and saving all your stuff there, and i can access my notes on my phone too which is a bonus
something I'm gonna do since I only have 64 gb is just uploading all my notes to google drive when I'm probably not gonna go back to them and then deleting them locally if that helps anyone who doesn't have a lot of storage.
@@ardinisf that's true! however i'm just a lazy student hahah 😅 and my ipad is my primary school device for notes, which is why i don't need that all the time! my notes are kept either on goodnotes or notion, and my files on google drive, so it works out for me and my study methods :3

am mostly using my ipad for uni but found the 10.5 ipad pro 2017’s screen I had was too small and not enjoyable to use for note taking, given that I often split screen my note taking app with google or even with the live online lectures. I then decided to buy the 12.9“ one and actually very happy with the purchase (other than it‘s being way too expensive for how I‘m using it..) but then again very useful hahaha
I fit the first category the most, but I really wanted the 12.9 display. Also jump to M1 is huge, so ended it going with the latest ipad 12.9 instead of an older version. It is so much more expensive compared to 11 inch pro for no reason, but I am sucker for big displays.

I’m a current M2, and although I could get away with the iPad Air at 64GB, it would be too close for my comfort. The benefits of the Pro (I use the 2021 12.9) are much better display with promotion and XDR, better speakers, FaceID because when I use it I’m sitting down and don’t have a mask on, extra RAM (8GB on mine as a 256GB model) makes a big difference in app refresh rates, and the significantly more powerful M1 for longevity. If you’re already spending $700 on an iPad, you may as we’ll spend as much as you can to maximize your purchase. I imagine I’ll have this in to residency. The other deciding factor for me was the extra screen size makes such a difference if I am watching a lecture while having Notability open at the same time. To each their own, but the Pro models have so many extra little features that really start adding up.
128gb is enough for me, i had huge games on it, had so much fun with it, using it till just the right amount of storage which is 100-120gb felt amazing that i picked the right choice
Thank-you for such an honest and open review! It's so hard to find in this day and age, and I appreciate that you haven't littered it with hard-to-spot advertising. I brought myself the iPad Air, 64gb, cellular and I'll be using either an external ssd or icloud storage for anything further, though I doubt I'll take up more storage than what's available.
I love my pink, 256 GB, iPad Air 5. I only read books, the New York Times, watch UA-cam videos, check IG, take notes and study with GoodNotes. 64 GB was too small for all the meticulous notes I take for all my classes. I agree most people don’t need the iPad Pro.
Most of the things you said is also what I felt like as a 2nd year college student. Most of this features is something I won't really need as I only ever used my Macbook or Ipad for school related purposes. I used my phone for everything else. So why would I need this extra features anyway. My main concern like you said have always been storage & power plus battery life as well. I was also pissed that in Ipad Air only have 64gb & 256gb because I think 128gb should be what's perfect. But actually I was wrong too because 64gb is actually just enough. I store most of my projects & presentation in my Macbook anyway and only have my modules, notes & other simple homework in my Ipad so 64gb is actually more than enough. I'm glad I went for the smaller storage & save money to used to buy different accessories for this gadgets.
hidden category: if u wanna play genshin on ur ipad JUST GET RHE PRO. i have the 64gb air and while it runs fine, the game is 20+ gigs so i had NOOO SPACE for like anything and had to delete it😃
I was able to snag an iPad Pro 2nd Gen 128GB Wifi + Cellular barely used from a nice old russian man for 700$, came with a high quality case, another case+keyboard, and great glass screen protector. and your video perfectly explains what students are looking for in an ipad. I chose to look for the pro model since I still wanted that option for creativity and flare lol.

Hi, great video and lit quality. I am still confused for myself, should i buy iPad Pro 12.9 with magic keyboard or iPad 8 with macbook air? For medical college. Is 12.9 iPad Pro large real estate worth in the life of student? Is 32 gb enough for basic school work? Is there a need of laptop in the life of medical student?
@@heizelmaeamit8328 I mean yes, most of the students are not creators , so i need to do basic stuffs that every student do. Does iPad 8 provide all that stuff or shelling extra on iPad Pro will be worth it? Is laptop needed in medical college and does iPad replace macbook for most of the major stuff students need to do?
I have been watching so many perspectives on the iPad Pro vs the Air lately, and to be frank, I’m still indecisive. Here’s the thing - I’ve been wanting an iPad primarily to use Procreate. Having a device I can easily pick up and start drawing my own art whenever and wherever I wanted can be helpful to me, even if I’m no professional at it. I’m tied between wanting the iPad Air 256 gb model or the iPad Pro 11-inch 128 gb model. Basically it comes down to this - would I value a bigger storage size or a faster refresh rate? And I know how smooth and responsive the iPad Pro is since I’ve actually used it before, my dad uses one for his own work. But would I be willing to make some compromises to future-proof myself on storage or not?
I'm having exactly the same problem like you, but I'm going for pro 128, because 120hz is something I want, if air was having even 90hz I would go for air. Secondly I do know that I'll play games with console and rest of the features even if I don't use it increases my resell value, no one would buy a 60hz display in future from me. And 128gb is enough to do sketches, notes, entertainment etc, more is needed only when heavy video editing like professional work is needed
I’m a dental student and I have to iPad Pro and iPad Air with magic keyboard. They are both great but the air does more than enough and is a fraction of a price.
@@moonbap2579 well 64 GB iPad air 4 is $599 Vs the 128gb iPad pro 11 at $799. But if you compare between the 256 GB (since air doesn't have 128gb) then iPad air 4 at $749 Vs the iPad pro 11 at $1,099
I’m not a student but i really appreciate the explanations here - simple, easy to understand, esp for people who are not tech savvy, & straight to the point. Thank you.

Amazing review! So glad I stumbled across this channel as an incoming grad student in the health professions. I intend on using the iPad primarily for school use (while I'm in school) but also am interested in venturing into a personal creative space with it and continuing to use it for work/self-study years after I graduate. I'm on the fence between iPad Pro 128GB and 256GB.....I'll be getting the apple pencil and free air pods (student deal) but I'll still have an old MacBook Pro as my "primary device" I guess. I also think using Microsoft office to upload documents and stuff will help with storage, but I'm still unsure which way to go.
Im a college student heading to chiropractic school within a year. And I was worried I wasn’t going to get the right one for my future endeavors. I will definitely be one to download books, movies, lecture videos and some games. So this video helped me so much to decide what was best for me, def a 🔥.
Great video, just one thing: don‘t get the overpriced magic keyboard but the logitech folio which I actually find better even apart from the price and second: for engineering student’s and programmers, the better chip and more ram (which some apps can already take advantage of) will definitively be an advantage.

I would go for more than 64GB if you plan on keeping it for 5 years. Apple makes lots of upgrades and you want to account for that. But it sucks air doesn’t make a 128GB one :(
do you think the 128 GB is enough for someone who wants to have a lot of games, digital arts, and other apps?
Good to know, because I obviously don’t know the plight of the engineer student, I hope they all see this comment :)

Just bought the iPad Air 4, 64gb version yesterday and I’m more than satisfied. I use GoodNotes 5 for note taking and I know that the storage on this iPad is more than sufficient for my university work.
Awesome thanks for sharing

You can use typ c pen drive for extra storage...
I deadass subscribed when he said “who cares” and when he said “useless” I felt that
by far the most honest ipad review i’ve ever seen the whole month of scrolling through other reviews! tysm 🤗🤗
“At that price you can find way better tablets” DUDE THE 2020 IPAD IS BY FAR THE BEST TABLET FOR THE MONEY
I 100 percent agree I have the m1 iPad myself and totally think the 2020 iPad Pro is pretty much the same for the money not performance wise
Its depend on person, usage, budget and environment of ecosystem available
For my case after a thorough research, i decided to buy TabS7 instead of ipad Air(i hv note10lite & iphone12mini)
My reason is:
1) My environment mostly windows PC and Samsung smart TV. So its much easier to transfer large file using cable and connect to smartTV. In my country most ppl use android anyway. And iMessage was rarely used. Coz whatsaap
2) price VS what i get.
Also have option to lock/pin the item in clipboard
4) Samsung Dex can convert Tablet Ui into Windows Like UI, so doing multitasking is much easier compare to tablet mode especially when using mouse and keyboard. I do a lot of work Microsoft office using samsung Dex, really like it
5) i can play any GAMES with mouse and keyboard coz android support V3 shooting apps. The apps floating on screen and you can Map keyboard button. So i play CODM, PUBGM, Genshin Impact with mouse and keyboard
I have no issue recommend Ipad to my friends, but depend on their usage, budget and environment. Coz there are something ipad do better and there are something samsung do better
Apple refurbished has Pro 2020 starting at 609! That’s a no brainer vs Air 4
@@BusyraKhiarafif that's some serious suggestions but when it comes to Apple, we get atleat 4-5 no worries abt updates or fluidity, and they have customised os in tab form very well but samsung they don't have like, it is a thing that their devices become slow in and after 2 yrs, that's why m worried, about Samsung.
Even if they have 870 or whatever, their one UI is not optimizes especially for tabs, I think, please give the suggestion as you have tab.
I m confused between ipad 9, air and tab s7

Great review. Planning to get my son one for school and have no clue what would be enough. I knew 64 was probably a no so was going to get the 256 Air. imo, 64 isn't enough for anybody, let alone students with lots of notes. 128 is the best option, but it might be pushing it a little, depending on your usage. for me, 256 is the sweet spot. you'll never have to ration or worry about storage, but it's not an obscene amount, you know?
yeah HAHAHA same 256 for me is safe, I like comfort and flexibility I got the 256 gig air
@@britneynguyen718 that sounds like a plan! personally i'm just far too lazy to upload things all the time and i study from my ipad a lot, so i prefer having the extra storage :D

Me as a Student with the 12,9“ M1 iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard: 👁👄👁
am mostly using my ipad for uni but found the 10.5 ipad pro 2017’s screen I had was too small and not enjoyable to use for note taking, given that I often split screen my note taking app with google or even with the live online lectures. I then decided to buy the 12.9“ one and actually very happy with the purchase (other than it‘s being way too expensive for how I‘m using it..) but then again very useful hahaha
I get you haha can't put a price on enjoyability
Me watching this after I bought the 12.9 M1 iPad Pro 256gb lmao. No regrets so far but I’ll have to find something to do with all this power and room.
I am medical student and I am using iPad Pro it is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I fit the first category the most, but I really wanted the 12.9 display. Also jump to M1 is huge, so ended it going with the latest ipad 12.9 instead of an older version. It is so much more expensive compared to 11 inch pro for no reason, but I am sucker for big displays.
So relatable.Thank you!I was planning to buy an iPad because I'm starting med school this year😁 and was worried I'd have to buy the pro, consider my tight budget🙂
Also I'm a bulbasaur but I wanna be a charmandar😄
Oh yea iPad is going to make med school quite enjoyable. Lol maybe some day you will become a charizard. Good luck !
@@KoiAcademy Thank you sm hehe will definitely evolve into Charizard someday I think😁.I've been trying so hard because my dream is to be a great surgeon...so also your channel inspires me too😊💚
I’m a current M2, and although I could get away with the iPad Air at 64GB, it would be too close for my comfort.
The Pokemon analogy makes them unique 🤞🏽
we happen to be fanboys
128gb is enough for me, i had huge games on it, had so much fun with it, using it till just the right amount of storage which is 100-120gb felt amazing that i picked the right choice
I watched the entire thing because, damn, he’s cool.
definitely a class B. THANK YOU, and here I was overthinking that 68 GB its not gonna be enough. saved my life )))))
Im not kidding I have watched so many videos to make a decision and this one is the most helpful one! Literally subscribed right away!!! ✨
The main question is Apple Refurbished 12,9 inch 2020 or 11 inch 2022. Which one is better for students as both of them cost almost the same
I knew I needed an ipad for a while and after watching just this one review of iPad air4 and iPad pro, I've decided to get iPad pro 256GB and got it. No doubts. You guys are really doing something here.

@@KoiAcademy Ok seniors, Also what should i buy for my college macbook air with iPad 8 OR iPad Pro with magic Keyboard?
@@heizelmaeamit8328 I mean yes, most of the students are not creators , so i need to do basic stuffs that every student do.

Is laptop needed in medical college and does iPad replace macbook for most of the major stuff students need to do?
tbh i am looking at the ipad air 256gb 5thgen cuz it has the m1 chip + it offers alot of gb and with less price
Also think about resell value….
The thing is that the pro is kinda useless if you already have other devices like computers.
@@andy_t6349 totally forgot about this comment lol, I’ve already pretty much decided on the air. Hope to get my hands on one soon

@@moonbap2579 well 64 GB iPad air 4 is $599 Vs the 128gb iPad pro 11 at $799.
