- what's good fam! Today I wanted to do a POV finally with the new is38 turbo setup for the mk7 and just do a little back road ripping!

dope i wanted to buy this setup from eqt but i wouldn’t be able to pass emissions with CEL since cobb doesn’t tune it out anymore, how are you gonna deal with yearly emissions or renewal?
There are catted O2 sensor spacers. Don’t ask me how I know but they work VERY well……..
What's your exhaust setup? I have a high flow catted ARM downpipe and a straight pipe cat back and it doesn't sound as good 🤔
Are you on custom eqt tune or a standard based one?

What wheels you have on your GTI? I have potenza S001's and they are absolutely terrible in rain. They are ok on dry surface but I cannot accelerate a bit harder when road is wet at all. Even if I push the throttle half way it will start spinning. Was thinking about getting Pilot 4s for my GTI, heared many good reviews about them. Its literally driving me nuts. I love driving my GTI in summer, destroying most of the cars on road but now when weather is shit, roads are wet, I need to accelerate like a grandma, otherwise I will start spinning like crazy. Its just so boring driving my GTI when its raining. I will also get dog mount in a few weeks. Hopefully dog mount and some michelins will do the job otherwise I will have to sell my GTI and get R. Its raining most of the year here in Germany so struggling for traction most of the year would be just a big disapointment.
I currently have the pilot 4s. They surprisingly do well in the rain. I’m in the desert so when it rains it’s pretty slippery. But it still grips up well! The life of them last me about a year and a half but gripy in dry or wet conditions

Is38 peaks around 28 and tapers around 21.
2016 autobahn sportpack and I’m running the XClutch stage 2. I’m still on stock sensors so it peaks at 29 and I’m not sure what pressure the is38 holds at now.

Well that should answer your question. Has hella miles with a tune. I’m apr stage 2 about to go eqt stage 2 and haven’t had any issues
@@jaybird6909my ap comes tom. Just stage 1 eqt rn but all I need is a downpipe for stage 2 but don't got enough money to spend on one, I already have an intercooler and everything else.
My car is a 2021 GTI S mk7.5
Gti can be a hit or miss. I have a gti as well fully stage 2 EQT so far it’s reliable but obviously these cars require way more maintenance than other cars. If you don’t change your oil and plugs every 4-5k your asking for problems. PCV will eventually go out that’s a given also with the water pump.

For now just the boost gauge is in there, eventually gonna be an ethanol gauge

Wasted on manual. Should have went DSG, it's a lot faster. A stage 1 tune only MK8 GTI with DSG will beat you.
Nah I dove a few Mk7s before I got this one and decided manual had the most driving feel. Longer gearing and better on back roads in my opinion. If I wanted a drag setup or an actual daily I’d go for a dsg
@ChrisFromKenya It's not just drag and daily. A DSG is faster in every aspect. The clutch will also hold way more power. Manual in 2024 especially on a FWD hatchback is stupid. Now a RWD V8 sports car. A manual argument can be made.
@BryceCzirr-jz7ju well sir the clutch on a dsg only has enough clamping pressure for 450 ft lbs and cost a lot more to replace the twin disc in a dsg. Buttt with a manual may be cheap to do but you will have to do the clutch regardless so they are a double edge sword. I’m simply saying I think a awd R makes sense with a dsg because it can put down the power more than stage 2 but. A stage 2 or is38 gti manual is a lot more fun to drive.
