- Denis Law, a humble Aberdeen native, overcame a hereditary sight problem to become a football legend. As part of Manchester United's iconic trinity with Bobby Charlton and George Best, Law's extraordinary goal-scoring prowess earned him a place in football history. This authorised biography, featuring insights from Sir Alex Ferguson and others, highlights Law's journey from barefoot beginnings to Britain's most expensive player. His lasting impact is commemorated in the famous Trinity statue outside Old Trafford, symbolising his status as a football great.

RIP Dennis my Hero from my childhood thank you for your service to Manchester United fc and the goals 237 in total
An absolute legend, he'd be worth a fortune these days - had it all. First touch, header, run beyond the back line, fox in the box. And Social Media would have loved him as he was funny as f"ck.
Best, Law and Charlton imagine facing that. Law was my late father's favourite player. ❤
A fabulous footballer and what a lovely man! So sorry he has left us.
As a Scot, Scotland was proud of you. R.I.P. Dennis 💐
I grew up adoring Denis Law as a Manchester United great. Many years later watching this video I now realise what an intelligent man he is, well grounded, extremely articulate and obviously very focussed on his career at the time. If only George Best had been similar... Thanks so very much Denis for the footballing joy you gave us!😊.
RIP Denis 🙏
That was a pleasure to watch. My boyhood hero and so many great memories.
Thanks for posting.
RIP 🙏
Fantastic documentary, this film should be shown to the current squad in 2025, the tradition and quality of Manchester United should be compulsory for all United players to see and aspire to. God Bless you King Dennis RIP
Totally agree. They are a bunch of Pre madonnas racking in huge amounts of money and are pathetic.
They need to watch the films on the Munich air disaster to see what the fuck they're playing for and what those KIDS did for the club after. To see that those KIDS were 10x the men under 100x the adversity as they are.
The problem is these players have no attachment or care for the club or the fans.
Simply the best ! The first King ! Thanks for this.
RIP Denis 🙏
R.I.P Denis thanks for the service you gave to Manchester United a legend forever
Denis was my school idol I had the pleasure to meet Denis at a book signing, I had a picture taken I’m 6ft Denis stood on his tip toes.
Top player, more importantly a top human being.
The true king of Old Trafford Denis Law, god bless him.
As a Liverpool fan I respect Denis Law death. He's one of the greatest Scottish and Manchester United soccer player of all time. R.I.P Denis Law 😢
Class!! Well said mate, from a United fan who can't believe the Holy Trinity is no longer here. RIP Dennis Law❤
I saw Dennis play a few times for Man Utd against my Club, in the 60’s.
Fabulous Player. ❤️⚽️❤️
RIP Dennis. As a Scottish Rugby supporter I never realised what a talented player you were until I watched this. Condolences to his family who must be very proud
A real gentleman and one of the greatest players ever
As a Liverpool fan it's sad to see a legendary player like Denis Law passed away. Miss the old generation of great players like Law, Best, Charlton, Duncan Edwards and so on.
Emlyn Hughes, Ray Clemence , Terry Mcdermott , Ian Callaghan, , even as a Manchester United fan I love these brilliant players , there was a lot more mutual respect between fans those days
What an exciting player you got your money's worth when you went to. see a game that he was involved with
Talked to him a few times,he knew how much it meant to us to be allowed to have a word with him
What a great life hes had and deserves every acolade that hes been given
Those who appreciate football appreciate dennis law
From an lfc fan. Denis was not only a lgendary player, but also a great person. He wll never be forgotten and will take his place amongst the fotballing gods.
Not a utd fan, loved Denis law, a humble, honest man. And a magnificent player, who had many disadvantages. Unique.
As a liverpool fan always admired the way denis looked like he enjoyed playing and scoring....and was quite humble and respectful....
Heartbreaking at the end when he talks about the weight of the ball and now he's finally succumbed to the horrors of Alzheimer's. What a player, absolutely lethal. He still holds the record for most goals in a season for United at 46, and the only man to have 2 statues at Old Trafford.
Long live the king, fabulous player, even better man. R.I.P the lawman
The holy trinity will be reunited once again. R.I.P Denis.
Well said mate❤
At the age of 75, one of my great memories is seeing the Holy Trinity play and meeting them in the dressing room at Highbury having watched Man Utd play Arsenal. RIP 🙏
If anything he is very underrated as he played alongside Best and Charlton.
Like those two, he was an All Time Great, but also he was just a fantastic character off the pitch too, such good fun to see talking about the game, love the man.
Thank You For The Decades of Entertainment Denis
RIP 💚
The King is dead long live The King , Denis will never be forgotten RIP DENIS
Thank you for uploading this video.
My late father used to make suits for him. I went with my dad to his house for fittings. He was the King of the Stretford End. I was a City fan but I still loved him. You couldn’t help it he was a god at football and oh so down to earth and friendly. He used to live in Chorlton cum Hardy in those days. Once when we went to take his suit for him because he was going to go on holiday the next day and as we left he came out of the house the same time we did to pass by the police station to ask them to keep an eye on the house when he was away. I remember it like yesterday. He waved us goodbye and smiled at us. What a lovely man. After his career ended he was also a wonderful pundit on the BBC.
Rip Dennis from a Liverpool fan
A brilliant man! RIP Denis Law.
RIP Lawman, the King.
As an Essex living person for 74 years, I find it so heartbreaking that Denis is not with us anymore, he was always a favourite to watch on tv by many people whatever team they played. RIP DENIS, AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR TALENT 🙏🙏🙏😢
DENIS “THE KING” LAW 🏴❤️⚽️
My favourite Dennis Law story, as a Liverpool supporter, I remember being at Anfield just after the Shankly gates were installed, Dennis was there looking at them over, and a quick witted scouser shouted out, "Hey Dennis, It's A Gate", he turned and wagged his finger with that grin on his face. He appreciated the humour.
Mr Law was the ultimate finisher
AND more importantly a great man.
I saw lots of games with the King playing and he is still the King
Greatness is Greatness… in any era 🙌🙌🙌
Ah! Man, what a player.. I'm from Lancashire in my 20s then. Now in late 70s Manchester Utd was in the Great Greek football pantheon and he was a God.
Sir Bobby Charlton is my all time hero and has always been since I was a little girl. They were all my hero’s but I’m a Bobbys girl. God bless the holy trinity, Law, Best and Charlton. ❤
Lucky enough growing up a middlesbrough fan got to see Law Best Charlton and all the great players since, the awe you felt seeing these great players were never matched for me in future generations of players, even tho they were still great! They were tough but never cheated or try to con the Ref, different world different MEN!
R.I.P big man.united in life and death.you gave me so many memories.❤❤
Great tribute to a great player, imagine that in todays game 3 British players in you front 3 and all balon dor winners
The last of the Holy Trinity departed.
Law, Charlton and Best were all class in their own way, it’s a pity the players of today (19 Jan) for United didn’t do justice to themselves and put on a performance worthy of The Lawman.
R.I.P. Denis, from a Liverpool supporter.
R.I.P🕊
Rest in peace, Denis. ✝️
What a great bloke.
Rest in peace my man. 🏴
The partnership between George Best, Bobby Charlton, and Dennis Law in the Manchester United team of the mid 1960s could be considered the greatest in the history of the club. There is v good reason Dennis Law was aptly nicknamed 'The King'. He was the greatest finisher of his era. In the '63-'64 season he scored 46 goals, including 30 in the league, and would have more had he not missed almost 20 games through injury. Until persistent knee trouble began to dent his speed on the turn, his strike record for United was exemplary, averaging rather better than three goals every four matches in his first five seasons at Old Trafford.
During that time, he helped to bring the club two league championships, the FA Cup and eventually triumph in Europe. Playing with the ends of his sleeves clasped in his fists, his right arm rising to salute his goals, his hair a shock of blond, Dennis Law gave the fans an idol to worship. To them, he was simply "The King". R.I.P.
An absolute GIANT of the game, total legend!
Lovely to see the late great Ray Wilson, owner of a World Cup winners medal.
My name is ssuuna Denis and I'm in Uganda .Law has inspired me to play football and I'm some way now but Rip coname any one who can help me raise high like him please help me because I like football like him 🙏🙏
Lovely country Uganda.
Sent this on to my dear friend, Pat, who is a 'Law man', recovering in hospital. Get well soon Pat!
RIP Denis Law 🙏♥️
I'm Arsenal, I'm pissed off about dropping points against villa today, I've only just heard about Dennis Law. When I was a kid he was one of the greatest.
Dennis is immortal. His playing style was much ahead of his time. A complete player.
Another GREAT SCOT!
There was a couple of them that done well in the great Britain
@@dondamon4669
First football star was a posh Scot.
Pioneered the League and the game (way it was to be played, Internatinals, having a National Stadium ) in England, Argentina, Brazil, Spain.
Willie McGregor, Arthur Kinnaird, Andrew Watson etc.
Get their faces tuned in it for the next 100years.
Lovely documentary.
Yours Aye.
Excellent video thanks. My childhood Hero Gordon Banks got a bum deal in this video though lol
Rest in Peace SR dennis🏃➡️⚽️💔🕊🕊🕊
Devastating news. Rest in peace Denis Law.
Jimmy Greaves......What a Player🤘
Still King. The King.
King Denis.
A legend reunited with the Holy Trinity 👹 Rest well Kingman
you will never be surpassed. just because no one can.
Bye Denis.
The King 🤘
RIP Dennis Law❤. He didn't relegated us in 1974.... we were already down anyways. Other results!!
Yes wicked❤❤
He always had an injury around New Year so he could have a few beers back in Scotland .
That trio were the reason Utd became more famous and justifiably so.
Always thanking for All Trafford 1974
Very sad Denis has gone. He typified the best of the Scottish character as well as being a world-class footballer.
Vale Dennis Law ! A great
The game when men were men. A football that weighed a tonne and double the weight when wet. No wonder headers of the ball in those days suffered later in life. RIP Dennis
RIP my hero
A very fitting eulogy indeed.
God job
King of kings
I'm am a Manutd fan for more than 63years. Dennis was king then but you have to admit Kenny Dalglish was an amazing player for Liverpool in his era What a player he was. Wow.
Rip denis
Its me
Great Scottish Footballers (in no particularorder): Alan Hansen, Dens Law, Kenny Dalglish, Gordon Strachan, Graeme Souness, Billy Bremner,
One of about 60 great ones...
Scotlands greatest ever player RIP the lawman Alba Gu Bràth 🏴
Pele said it Law was the only British player who would make the Brazilian team! Nothing more to be said!!
Scotland &England. The golden time..
R.I.P
Didn’t he send manure down with the back heal
39:27 "When we finished training we went & had a cpl of pots o' tea together". When football had a sense of humour.
Celtic won the European Club the first in the UK!
Yes they did ,thought they would of won it in 69/70 after two great games v Leeds in the semi ,some great players in that celtic team .
We are here for Dennis Law Though
and?
DOOOH - I never knew that!!!
Hii iam odisha😂😂😂😂😂
Dalglish wasn't half the player Law was.
deluded
Nah
Type into Google, Who is the best Scottish footballer ever
You are disrespecting Denis by saying that. These are the 2 greatest Scottish strikers in history and both great human beings also. Show some respect to both and leave petty rivalry out of it.
What an unnecessary and pointlessly pathetic comment.
Denis Law was a gentleman and a great football player. But Man United have never been or will never be the "biggest club in the world". 24 seconds in... Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, since way before United won their first European Champions title in 1968. Let's get real please.
Views incoming
Biggest club in the world? This is about Man Utd not Real Madrid!!
I remember his 'back-heeler' that sent Man U down, he didn't celebrate .
"Denis has done it" 27/04/74, 50 years ago next month. Another glorious day in the history of English football.
Denis Law didn't send them down. United had been struggling for two seasons and losing their First Division status was entirely of their own making. Had they won on the day, they would still have been relegated due to results elsewhere.
OonTZ Angle 3
Manchester United should have world class players doing magical things on the pitch instead of this pointless nonsense we have to watch today it’s actually unbearable to sit through
Why should they?
RIP Denis 🙏
Nonsense
Why should they? U earn glory your not given it! Same goes with such things as respect! 🤝🏽
Your team is just turd now bud…..😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
He REALLY hated England and the English didn't he? Why so vehement?
King Kenny won more
And? Neville > Dalglish.
He was the first King
You are out of order comparing Kenny and Denis. They are the 2 greatest Scottish forwards. Show some respect.
RIP Dennis the king
Lovely documentary that. Didn’t get to see Jim Baxter’s keepie ups and sitting on the ball..seems to have been lost that…Mr Law wanted to keep the pace up instead of showboating.
Even Mr Motson made mention of ‘shenanigans’ in ‘66… but not Mr Law. He can’t remember..Class. So many greats in that.
