The 2007/08 Premier League campaign proved to be a landmark one in many ways.
'Premiership' was dropped from the competition’s title and the league would top the UEFA Club Co-Efficient for the first time after Manchester United and Chelsea contested the first all-English UEFA Champions League final in May 2008. United won on penalties and the title race would also go down to the wire as Sir Alex Ferguson’s side looked to defend their crown. - Спорт
Amazing how many times Arsenal would top the table for most of the season then fall off time and time again. Still can't believe Ronaldo let hargreaves take a free kick instead of him 🤣

06/07 and 07/08 are probably the Premier League's best ever seasons, certainly in the last 20 years

This was the season when arsenal play football like a futsal. An underated team.
Loved that side of 07/08. The football that season going forward with the likes of Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb, Walcott, Van Persie & Adebayor was absolutely scintillating. The precision of those intricate & incisive one touch/two touch sharp & snappy interchanges, movement off the ball and build up play in the final third at times was utterly breathtaking. That was by far my favourite time being an Arsenal supporter in terms of that electric style of football that we used to play. Just a shame we couldn't get over the line and reward all that exceptional free flowing attacking football with a Prem title at the end of it:
● Going into that Birmingham game which Eduardo broke his leg in we had the opportunity to go 8 points clear as it was an early Saturday K:O on the 27th G/W before everyone else played.
● Including the Birmingham draw we drew 5, lost 2 and won just 1 of our 8 league games in that period which ultimately cost us the title.
● Finished on 83 points (4 points off Man Utd). The 2 we lost were 6 pointers against Man United and Chelsea respectively as well to make it even more painful.
Even if we'd just managed to beat United during that horrific run of results it would have hypothetically meant that we would have won the league in hindsight if the 3 points went the other way although obviously I appreciate the entire dynamic of the run in would have been altered by those chain of events. Fine margins. We completely imploded from gameweek 27-34. What could have been 😔.

As a Chelsea fan this season was a disaster we lost the title on the last day lost the carling cup to spurs of all teams lost the ucl final on pens and the special one left early in the season
Manchester United won double premier league and champions league.
Chelsea were runners up in calling cup to Tottenham losing in extra time they were runners up in the league by two points behind Manchester United and lost ob penalties against Manchester United in champions league final
It was a great and exciting season good memories so happy the football is back

Many argue that arsenal should have won the title this season, however the kick in the balls was Eduardo's injury that messed up the players mentality and way to approach the game in the rest of the season. I know it cuz i'm a arsenal fan.
Not having that as an excuse at all. These were top level Pros. As horrific an injury as it was injuries are part of the game and that's what you have a squad for. We threw it away from GW 27-34 (W1 D5 L2) starting with that Birmingham draw. I would be utterly disgusted as an Arsenal supporter to hear any of our former players during that season come out and blame that for why they didn't with the Prem that year. Talk about weak mindedness and lacking character and resilience 😤.

Harsh but true. At least we tried unlike other bad premier league teams like Villa 15/16.
They'll never ever be allowed to live that season down no matter how much time passes 😂. Even if their fortunes change ownership wise and they become a prosperous football club in the future, that season will always be used as cannon fodder for other clubs to beat them with 😆.
That season will only be remembered for derby and their performances

when i was 10 in 07 my parents had me living in Nigeria. I never really watched sports fr then but seeing everyone so invested was crazy. my fav color Red and I saw Arsenal cooking and haven’t looked back. I aint know Liverpool and RonaldoU were monsters tho 😂
