I've watched sooo many tutorials today, still couldn't get through the first stitch. I already gave up on crochet forever, but then this video came up. I watched it one time and actually did it. I'm so happy. You guys please don't give up. You'll get to it, even if takes you two hours like me

@@bokiemuffin3729 I'm sure you'll find a video example that'll make it click for you and if not you shouldn't worry too much because there are very few things in crochet where you actually need to do a magic ring. Look up what to do instead of magic rings and you should find several options. The magic ring only features in most patterns because it's one of those weird things that's initially really confusing but once it clicks it's actually easier than the alternative options.

I've gone through 6 videos where they all skipped through chaining the loop. You are the first to show it plain and simple and now thanks to you I can make a magic ring.

I, TOO, WATCHED WAY TOO MANY MR VIDEOS ONLY TO GET SO FRUSTRATED THAT I HAD QUIT FOR THE DAY. TODAY I STARTED OVER WITH VIDEOS AND FOUND YOURS. YOU ARE SO PERFECT WITH INSTRUCTIONS, SLOWLY MOVING THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO SLOW VIDEO DOWN TO WATCH. I HAVE PLACED YOUR VIDEO IN MY CROCHET STITCHES FOLDER AND WILL CONTINUE TO GO THRU YOUR VIDEOS TO FIND MORE ON STITCHES THAT MIGHT CONFUSE ME OR THAT I HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW TO DO. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A SUPERB INSTUCTIVE VIDEO.

I’ve watched around 10 videos today trying to understand how to make a magic circle but always ended up knotting up the yarn with the first stitch. This Video helped me understand what to do on the first play through without needing to rewind at all! I loved this and got it on my first try

Thank you! you are slow with each demonstration which is an enormous help. If I had a teacher like you in school I would have been a more successful student. I can’t express my appreciation enough. So a very humble thank you.
PS: I’m using flimsy DK yarn making this more difficult because the yarn splits. But I AM going to master this.

Thank you for this video! The second way is easy, but I had a terrible time trying to make it using the first way, which is what most videos show. I tried over and over and over, but could not get it to work. Then I noticed that in your video, you said that the working yarn had to be in the back. That was the clue to my whole problem. If you try the first method holding the short end in your right hand, it gets twisted in such a way that you can't use it. So again, thank you!
