  • The Mitsubishi ASX has been on our roads for 12 years and really has changed very little in that time. Is it still good value in 2022?

For someone who just wants a car to go from A toB this car is perfect.
Not everyone wants all the modern electronic wizardry.

Fair point, but it is a little expensive considering its lack of equipment.

I hate all the tech on new cars, much of it superfluous. I want to drive a car, not a computer.

Na my 2013 nissan d40 is a time machine. 5 airbags, Bluetooth which works randomly, seatbelts. That looks pretty high tech to me

my 2012 gt looks the same except the computer screen. honestly my stock stereo looks much better than now, a huge worry for new vehicles should be the insane replacement cost when a new display fails. the more manual, the more reliable.

Best used car bargain I would say

Yes it is a very good used car buy. Will run forever although I did start having computer and suspension issues with my Lancer once it got to about 8 years old.

like the 79 series, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, if people can’t read a analog speedo stiff shit, i find the more stuff we add to cars especially electronically it’s more to go wrong hence the warranty period.
the 4b11 and 4b12 engines are pretty much bulletproof

I like your style! It’s just a bit of shame that in Australia we’re missing out on the new European version of this car. Thanks for watching.

It's called an Outlander Sport here in the U.S. and I love it! I bought mine used, a 2019 Outlander Sport GT 2.4 liter CVT. It's been a great vehicle with no problems. I just took it for its 60 thousand mile 93k I think check and nothing is wrong! I change the brakes and oil on a regular basis and just changed the transmission fluid to Amsoil 100% synthetic and it runs much smoother and quieter now. No I'm not a Amsoil distributor! Only wish I could find more off road accessories here in the U.S. Mitsubishi is not a popular vehicle her at all.

Interesting because the Outlander is a completely different larger SUV in Australia. Thanks for watching!

Low tech is actually a big plus for me. I really don't like high tech stuff in my car. I'd even much prefer no screen at all. The auto brake thing (for stopping on a hill) in a Subaru almost killed me in an accident once. I needed to go back 1 metre immediately to avoid a crash, fastest & the only way was roll because on steep hill, no time at all for reverse gear. Almost got sideswiped by speeding car directly into drivers door because the damn hill-stop was on. Admittedly I wasn't used to that feature, but the fact it's on by default and is so impractical to turn off (as is auto stop/start traffic light feature) to me is a deal-breaker for Subaru, which I really like otherwise. We all have different preferences, but for me I prefer to drive an old-school style car rather than a spaceship.

Fair enough! Yes these systems are not perfect. I recently nearly rolled into the back of another car in a Polestar when the auto brake feature suddenly didn't work. It's a great until it isn't! Thanks for watching.

Love my ASX. Bought practicality new from first owner. 2020 model. It looks great. Biggest drawbacks are fuel economy and my screen is not responding when i touch it. Still waiting for replacement from Mitsubishi

Good to hear. It will last for ages as my Lancer did until it suddenly didn't after 11 years...

As someone who just needs a car to be a car... I'm thinking this'll do. Can't go past the 10year warranty to be honest.

Well it will tick all the boxes for you then and warranty is indeed the best. Thanks for watching!

It also needs better tech and a new engine. 13 years is too long to hang on to a model. Thanks for watching!

The servicing cost of the ASX is a ripoff . It is 40% more expensive than it's competitors. Potential ASX buyers beware.
