@@MattPendergraph hey matt - thanks for the great content on this product. I'm buying one now with your code/affiliate link. Thanks for supporting a small US business.
As awesome as this looks, do you think its worth it over buying a standalone lat pulldown? While the bully glider seems well priced, by the time you get a Rogue slinger, lat seat/low row set up you're gonna be into the entire setup for a decent chunk of cash vs just buying something like a Titan selectorized lat pulldown?
While I definitely see what you mean, I think the ability to perform belt squats seamlessly/effortlessly alone is worth the price of admission (and it's considerably cheaper than a rhino even after buying all the Slinger accessories). It really depends on the space you have and how much you're willing to give up for standalone items in my opinion. Both will work equally well but the quality difference going this route will be quite noticeable in my opinion (I mean Rogue is Rogue for a reason 😂 compared to Titan and this bully glider fits right into the mix). Hopefully this at least gives you something to think about if you're in the market. Let me know if you have any other questions and I appreciate you watching the video!
@@MattPendergraph I can see the benefit of the belt squat for sure. Personally, I'm not a belt squat guy (Sold my Rogue Rhino) and already have the 50 cal trolley arms on my rack. I would honestly get more use of the the glider than I would the trolley arms though. I'm honestly just super undecided on my next purchase. Too many nice items out/coming out right now. (Also, I owned the Titan stack pulldown and its probably the nicest thing they make (sold it when I moved houses), I can't complain about it and I'm not really a Titan fan.
I like this a lot but is there future R&D that will involve using this as a functional trainer as well? How about development of their own pulley system? What is the future of this glyder system? Would love to see how you could DIY this with the UPS by Surplus Strength. How about a quick attach system? I have questions...so many questions...
Lol...so many questions!! Buffalo told me he actually had a few people order a pair of Glyders for the purpose of using them as a functional trainer! I'll be interested to see what they come up with! As far as a pulley system, he has one in the developing stages (He has plans to build upon the Glyder system for sure). Don't you worry Gary!! 😁😂
I love the product. I don’t love that the cable doesn’t adjust with it. It looks like you daisy chained the cables which is not seamless. What good is having a trolley if the cable does adjust with wherever you want to put it?
Think of the trolley as a weight loading pin that glides up and down your upright as opposed to free hanging/swinging around. You can set the trolley at whatever height you want and go. The Slinger high/low setup utilizes two cables (which is what you see in the video). You use the cable running through the top pulley for your high work and connect the lower for your low work.
Unfortunately it isn't compatible with the UPS unless you plan on purchasing additional components/rack pieces in order to make it work. The Bully Glyder works well by itself or in conjunction with the Rogue Slinger
Great review Matt. What height is your rack? I have a 90" rack and it seems most Slinger reviews say the cables are too long. Wondered if that played a factor for you.
I appreciate you watching! I too have a 90-in rack and agree that the cable that ships with the Slinger seems a bit too long due to it hanging down so low. What I found to be the actual issue is the stopper that Rogue added to the cable. It basically dictates how much cable will hang down off the front and in my opinion they positioned the stopper up too high which allows too much cable to hang down. What I ended up doing is using the cable that came with my solo slinger as it does not have a stopper! Without the stopper, the cable retracts further up and gives me a fantastic range of motion! If you don't have the solo slinger, you can actually flip the cable around that comes with the slinger and use it backwards (with the stopper section on the inside connecting to the weights or trolley) Hopefully that makes sense 😂
Thanks @@MattPendergraph. That does make sense. I am 6'2" with a longer wingspan so I'll update you on that cable length. Seems like a lot to have to buy the slinger and lat pulldown + solo pulley so trying to make sure the cable fits as I saw Basement Brandon had to stand 10 feet away to use the solo to do curls.
@@sextonb07 Oh I completely understand! Just hit me up if you have any other questions and please consider using my Rogue affiliate link if you do end up purchasing! Thanks man!
I've shared a ton over on my IG page (check me out if your on IG). I personally recommend pairing it with a Rogue Slinger (check it out on the Rogue website to get an idea as what I'm talking about). If you don't want to go the Slinger route then I've included links to some pulleys in the description of the video.
Do you think a properly sized ball lock pin could replace the bolts that fit through the rollers? Perhaps this would make installing and removing the glider a bit quicker and easier?
While the idea is great, I feel like it would introduce a ton of slop into the setup as the whole unit depends on the bolts holding it together. If the side plates aren't tight, then you risk them shifting which would result in the rollers shifting....I dunno...just seems like an accident waiting to happen. Honestly, installing the bolts isn't bad at all if you follow my suggestions and once installed, there shouldn't really be a reason to move it around/uninstall it IMO. Good question!
Rigging the pulley itself off the trawler and having the Glyder run up and down the upright it's connected to? I'm assuming that's what you mean, lol...if so...then I would thing that would work out quite nicely!
Hey, Matt. I have been wondering since I ordered mine if I would need to consider using collars. I notice you use some axle collars, but given the enormous length of the loadable sleeves, it doesn't seem collars are needed. That said, if I wanted collars, your video seems to indicate that I need axle collars and traditional collars won't work. Thanks
lol, I actually did originally mention collars in the video, but ended up cutting it out! Dang!! lol. While you technically don’t need collars to retain the weights as the glyder is only traveling vertically, I personally use Olympic lock jaw collars on mine and they hold just fine. If you want an even tighter hold, I do recommend using axle collars (but they aren't necessary)
@Matt Great video to get acquainted with the product, is it possible to do a setup video detailing steps for custom setup (no rogue slinger) to do some functional training & belt squats i see no details on the website as well so curious how to setup when i get my product ?
I certainly can at some point if it's needed. I briefly touch on it in my vid and leave the rest up to the user's imagination/creativity due to no two setups will be exactly alike.
Hello again mat. Have another questions. I have seen mixed reviews about slinger, people complaining about cables been too long or something like that. I was thinking about getting one to add lat pull down, low row and belt squats and getting a separate FT.
at 5'11" I personally don't find the actual Slinger cable to be too long (the Solo pulley cable however was a bit too long for my tastes, but not the end of the world)
Hey brother I think I’ve asked you 648 questions about this by now 😅 but you mentioned adding weight with even distribution similar to tires on a car which I totally agree with and I do believe is true. However I notice you load it evenly when using it as a cable pulley but load a plate on one side of each Glyder when using it as a Smith machine. I’m planning on using this solely as a Smith so have you noticed any uneven wear when loading one side of Glyder in Smith mode?
Do u think it will be a good idea to build lat pulldown/low row/belt squat with just one single upright, 2 crossmembers and the slingers?? Maybe sell my titan selectorized lat pull down? I don't know if I will be downgrading since I will have a belt squat too
Can I live this install all the time on uprigjt without interfering with anything? Is it convenient and easy to use? Is it as easy as connecting the slinger cable to glider to do lat pull downs and low rows, etc...
I almost bought rhino and rm4 to drop it in. I have two buldging disk so I really like belt squats. Iam thinking now about getting just the rack maybe the rm3 and adding the bully glider just for the belt squats alone and of course lat pull down and low rows. Also considering buying the pr4000 plus ares cause I want the functional trainer. If I go with rep I don't know if I can add the glider to it do to ares cables getting in the way of slinger and glyder.
Well...I completely understand you wanting to get into belt squatting as I too have back issues (which is why I got into belt squatting). This Glyder is a great/compact/cheaper alternative to the Rhino IMO. If you go with the ARES system, you might be better off purchasing REP's drop in belt squat. I have never used it, so I can't say if it's worth it or not, but the idea is solid IMO. Consider using my Rogue or REP affiliate links whichever route you take though (if you do in fact make a purchase). I appreciate you watching/your support either way!
Hey mat how u doing. Have not bought a belt squat yet but a sauna though:) anyways I think I will be buying g the squat max md since I have the space still thinking about it though cause I really like the bully glider
How u doing Matt? OK so these are my two solid options so far. What do you think? FIRST OPTION. Should I get ares and squat max md belt squat?? this way I will have functional trainer, lat pull down and low rows with weight stack plus 4 post rep rack for about $6000 SECOND OPTION.. RML- 390F with straps, high and low slinger, rogue lat pull down seat, bully glyder and a separate titan functional trainner with weight stacks for about $5200-5500.?? I know at the end iam the one that decides but what would u do?? Like rhino bt squat too but it will be like $700 more than the squat max md plus squat max smaller foot print. I hope I did my math right. Lol
Such a hard decision man! Ultimately I think it'll come down to if you want a TRUE functional trainer or something rigged up to semi perform like one. An ARES system will function more so like a functional trainer out of the box than the Glyder (although the Glyder can certainly be rigged up to work quite well). You honestly won't go wrong either way IMO. Also...while I don't have any experience at all with the Squat Max, I can say that I specifically avoided it due to I absolutely HATE top loaded pins!!! The Rhino is like the Glyder in that it utilizes side loaded pins which are incredibly easy to load up (unlike what I've seen with the Squat Max). Hopefully this helps and consider using my affiliate links which ever route you decide to go!
@@MattPendergraph thank u Matt. I think I made my desicion. Rogue slim wall rack, Titan weigjt stack lat pull down and inspire FT or maybe ft3000. The only downside is that when I decide to get rhino or squat max gotta find space. Ares looks pretty cool but don't know if I will like everything in one rack specially when working out with wife. I also gotta keep the front post pretty much free for trolleys and can't incline inside ares.
Brother I just bought a slinger by rogue and think I might just add this to it. I see though that he only has payment through PayPal. I hate PayPal wish he had Apple Pay. Maybe you could mention that to him 😉
Thanks for this. Do they have one package that comes with the cable and everything else needed? What do I need to combine to have the whole system ready to attach to my rack? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! As of now, he's only offering the Glyder trolley and side extension plates, which means you'll basically have to decide what kind of pulley system you'll want to pair it with. He will eventually be offering his own pulley system/cabling/everything needed, but no clue as to when that'll happen.
@@Kilgore42Trout You're welcome! Absolutely I recommend the Slinger line of pulleys above all other solutions. It's incredibly robust, super smooth, and looks amazing IMO. Just make sure to grab the Bully Glyder extension kit if you do go that route so that the cable lines up properly.
@Matt Pendergraph: WOW ! ... Thanks for the tip ! ... Very nice thing !! ... Having 2 of these kind of gliders it would be possible to construct a MultiPress with a removable barbell. ... Have to think about building this myself ! :)
The Slinger setup isn't a must, it's just my preferred method of using the Glyder. It'll completely come down to user needs, what they want to purchase in addition to, and what they already have available to them.
It's actually not compatible unless you're willing to spend some time/money dropping in a dedicated upright that lines up with the UPS (which I don't at all recommend doing lol)
Maybe the wrong video for this comment, but do you think the slinger would work on a rep pr4k? Im looking for a pulley solution but space is very limited and this + the slinger may be the ideal solution.
Oh no, you're fine. I'm honestly not sure how well a Slinger would work on a REP rack due to the tube size differences and hole alignment. Plus the Monster lite Slinger design is slightly different from the Monster in terms of dimensions....I'd be curious to know how compatible they'd be to REPs myself!
While it technically CAN be paired with it by purchasing additional parts/pieces, I personally wouldn't suggest doing so due to the cost alone. The Surplus Strength pulley is intended to mount perpendicular to your rack's crossmembers whereas this system is intended more for pulley systems inline with the uprights (Rogue Slinger)
Matt can u do a video changing from one exercise to the other one when using the glyder? For example lat pull down, to low rows to belt squats..just wanna see how the transition is from one exercise to the other one? For example if iam doing lat pull downs and then change to low rows do I need to change the hight of glyder to perform different exercises? Iam assuming I need to remove all the plates and adjut pin and also adjust cables to do differwnt exercises?? I just want to go in and out when working out. Don't want to spend time changing all kinds of stuff to do different exercises.
I'll try and remember to show setup switches in my next video, but I can say I don't have to move the Glyder in between lat pulldowns and low rows (I simply just connect onto the cable with my low row cable)
@@MattPendergraph i still want to get one glyder just to do belt squats. Do u think k it will be worth it just for squats? Also would like to get something cheaper than slinger specially if iam using it only for cable belt squating. Do you have any ideas 💡. I will probably be using it with the rogue RML-90 SLIM rack. Lite. I hope it will work since the slim rack is only 14 inches away from wall when installed. If I don't get glyder extension will the plates get in the way of squating?
How u doing mat? Does the seat that comes with pulley attached for low rows gets in the way if I wanna use front of rack for other exercises? Been reading some reviwes about people complaining how long cable is for lat pull downs and low rows? Did rogue fix this or is it still a problem?
The seat and low row section is completely removable if needed (held on to the rack by hitch pins). As far as the cable length, I don't have any issues at 5'11" (You can see that I get a full range of motion in the video). Keep in mind that you can always lower the glyder as well to take up any extra slack you might have.
I'll probably end up making another video going over these/their additional uses due to changes in the design since the recording of this one. Rest assured, I will include updated installation instructions.
Let's say I have a 4 post rack with lever arms on the front permanently I want to use this on a back post and hook the cables up to the lever arms for resistance. Is there a way to do that without getting 2 of these ? Or can it go on the same post as the lever arms? I feel like it would get in the way.
I'm sure you could certainly rig up something with swivel pulleys, but I honestly don't know how even it would feel/effective it would be (plus I feel like it would look like a mess of cables! lol). If the Glyder was centered between the two arms I would possibly consider it, but probably not as is on a single upright off to one side. Having two Glyders would ensure that each arms is pulling evenly (which is what I would prefer). Also keep in mind that Bully is building upon this Glyder system (a functional trainer idea is in the works) therefore having two Glyders isn't the worst idea IMO. Hopefully that helps! Use MATT5 at checkout to save a little IF you do end up purchasing! Thanks for watching!
The DIY pulleys I use swivel (if you go that route) and can certainly be rigged up to perform those movements. Rogue does make a upper and lower swivel pulley for the Slinger setup, but I'm honestly unsure as to if they will sell it separately from the Monster Cave they utilize the on. I'd recommend at least sending them an email and asking.
Can you load barbells into them to connect the two for a real Smith machine type experience for like squats and stuff? Assuming you buy two and it lines up
@@SBavailablehandle Oh that's all him! He just sent me a rough pair of prototype adapters for testing purposes. If he ends up going ahead with production he'll eventually add them to his site.
@@Al_304 It could be if you don't already have one. I have several rack attachments and most of them ship with these pins so I have several lying around. You can also use a bolt or a piece of rod, just whatever fits through your rack holes and is strong enough to support the unit
I wanted to get this standalone video out before I dove into all the particular setups and movements that can be done. I feel like it deserved a video if its own, lol.
Hi Matt. Maybe you can help me with this: I have a Powertech rack and the gauge is 6cm x 6cm( 2,4 x 2,4 inches) thick... is it possible to use the Bully glyder in my rack? Thank you.
I believe you'd have too much play given that these rollers are for 3x3 racks. I suggest reaching out to Buffalo Bully and seeing if he has a solution for you
Oh I still have it (it's in the section off to the side of my rack) I'm just showcasing this beauty as an option for those who either don't want or can't afford the stack
No, it's not compatible unless you're willing to spend some time/money dropping in a dedicated upright that lines up with the UPS (which I don't at all recommend doing lol)
@@BrimhallBarbellClub Yep! I briefly mention/show them in the review. Just make sure your rear roller bolts are loose so that they'll move properly when you tighten the set screws.
How u doing Matt? Is there a way I can make the belt squat work with the bully glyder but without the slinger on my titan X-3 wall rack? I was going to sell my costco functional trainer, Titan selectorized lat pull down and titan X-3 wall rack to buy rep fitness with athena to make space to buy rogue rhino. I have 2 buldging disk in lower back so I really need a belt squat. I was hoping to somehow incorporate the bully glyder into my titan x3 rack just for belt squats and that's it
You can certainly rig something up! You'd have to get creative with how/where you mounted your pulleys, but the Glyder in general should work just fine on a wall rack.
If you purchase two, then it'll absolutely serve as a high/low dual pulley system. I'll probably end up showcasing that feature if you I get my hands on a 2nd unit.
It's hard to say really. You can always step back and let it pull from more of an angle, but you're not technically supposed to do that especially under heavier loads. I'd personally recommend the extension kit just to be on the safe side.
@Matt Pendergraph thank u. I rearrange everything in my garage man cave to make space for incoming ur sauna and now I have a space for belt squat🙄 So iam thinking about the squat max md

Can I use my own bar to make smith machine with bully glyder? I have PR-5000.. I wasn't sure my rogue ohio power bar is going to fit it...
Very cool product, I just ordered a UPS high, not sure how to make it work.
Unfortunately it isn't compatible with the UPS unless you plan on purchasing additional components/rack pieces in order to make it work. The Bully Glyder works well by itself or in conjunction with the Rogue Slinger
Buenas noches, tendrán un catálogo de l accesorio? 🤔por favor
Thanks man!
do you have any pics/vods of the pulley setups you have? i want to buy this thing but i need a better idea how to set it up on my rack. thx
Ventas a México?
I wonder if I get 2 I can add a functional trainner to my rack?? Well, except I will only be able to use trolleys on high and low position.
Exactly...you can use two but your limited to just upper and lower pulley movements (nothing in-between)
Would it be easy to rig one of these off of a shrimp trawler?
@@MattPendergraph OK. Very good to know. Thanks. I have a vast collection of Olympic collars and was hoping to avoid getting axles. Thanks
I was thinking about getting one to add lat pull down, low row and belt squats and getting a separate FT.
at 5'11" I personally don't find the actual Slinger cable to be too long (the Solo pulley cable however was a bit too long for my tastes, but not the end of the world)
Wonder if you can slot a bar between two rollers and use together like a Smith machine....
Oh he's been brainstorming ideas, trust me! lol
I may have actually responded to you on IG (let me know if I didn't and I'll respond here)
Nice product and video. Will there be a unit offered to fit a 2x2 rack?
Coming down the pipeline (should be by the end of the month according to Bully)
Great. Looking forward to that.
I wonder if I can make a belt squat with glyder on my titan x3 wall rack without slinger though? I how I can, I don't wanna buy the rhino belt squat🙄
Anything is possible with a little creativity!
Do u think it will be a good idea to build lat pulldown/low row/belt squat with just one single upright, 2 crossmembers and the slingers?? Maybe sell my titan selectorized lat pull down? I don't know if I will be downgrading since I will have a belt squat too
You could, but I personally would just throw it on your existing rack and call it good.
Can I live this install all the time on uprigjt without interfering with anything? Is it convenient and easy to use? Is it as easy as connecting the slinger cable to glider to do lat pull downs and low rows, etc...
yes and yes. Easy as that (make sure you watch the review if you haven't already as I cover all that and what you need in order to do so in the vid)
Does it fit 60x60 mm upright?
@@MattPendergraph I will thank u
Hey mat how u doing. Have not bought a belt squat yet but a sauna though:) anyways I think I will be buying g the squat max md since I have the space still thinking about it though cause I really like the bully glider
How u doing Matt? OK so these are my two solid options so far. What do you think?
FIRST OPTION. Should I get ares and squat max md belt squat?? this way I will have functional trainer, lat pull down and low rows with weight stack plus 4 post rep rack for about $6000
SECOND OPTION..
Could I use 2 of these with a barbell to create a smith machine on my rack? How much torque can the rollers handle>
Check out my latest vids!
Thanks, Matt! Would you suggest the rogue slinger as the best non DIY pulley system to use with them?
@@Kilgore42Trout You're welcome! Absolutely I recommend the Slinger line of pulleys above all other solutions. It's incredibly robust, super smooth, and looks amazing IMO. Just make sure to grab the Bully Glyder extension kit if you do go that route so that the cable lines up properly.

@Matt Pendergraph: WOW ! ... Thanks for the tip ! ... Very nice thing !! ... Having 2 of these kind of gliders it would be possible to construct a MultiPress with a removable barbell. ... Have to think about building this myself ! :)
You bet! Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching! Use MATT5 to save IF you end up purchasing!
Greater idea but after you price in a slinger and a lat pull down seat you might as well get a dedicated machine.
The Slinger setup isn't a must, it's just my preferred method of using the Glyder. It'll completely come down to user needs, what they want to purchase in addition to, and what they already have available to them.
..When do your Smith Machine prototype is going to be available? I need one of those🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He's still working on it. I do know that he'll give the prototype adapters to anyone who orders two Glyders as long as they hit him up!
@@MattPendergraph this a game changer
Is it loud?
How do you think this would work with the Surplus strength UPS and LPS systems? The angle of pull on the cable causing any issues?
What would you think about combining this with the Surplus Strength UPS that you reviewed a while back?
@@MattPendergraph that's good. What about when doing belt squats?
@@MattPendergraph i still want to get one glyder just to do belt squats. Do u think k it will be worth it just for squats? Also would like to get something cheaper than slinger specially if iam using it only for cable belt squating. Do you have any ideas 💡. I will probably be using it with the rogue RML-90 SLIM rack. Lite. I hope it will work since the slim rack is only 14 inches away from wall when installed. If I don't get glyder extension will the plates get in the way of squating?
Have you had a chance to try it with surplus strength pulley system ?
It's not compatible unless you're willing to rig something up, which isn't worth doing IMO
Can it be mounted inside rack/rear uprights the way the front uprights are free to do benching etc...?
You can slide it to the bottom or top to get it out of the way when performing rack movements. That's what I do and it works just fine.
Keep in mind that you can always lower the glyder as well to take up any extra slack you might have.
thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Hey I just bought a pair of these, any chance of a setup tutorial for my rack lmao. They didn’t come with instructions
@@MattPendergraph gotcha! Probably do need two then. Thanks for the thorough response and code!
I’ve asked this n a few different videos - is there a swivel pulley that would allow this to be used for cross over movements?
The DIY pulleys I use swivel (if you go that route) and can certainly be rigged up to perform those movements. Rogue does make a upper and lower swivel pulley for the Slinger setup, but I'm honestly unsure as to if they will sell it separately from the Monster Cave they utilize the on. I'd recommend at least sending them an email and asking.
Was that a Randy Savage or Hulk Hogan reference you cut in there? 💪😂
Haha! I can neither confirm, nor deny that at this time...😜
Can you load barbells into them to connect the two for a real Smith machine type experience for like squats and stuff? Assuming you buy two and it lines up

@@MattPendergraph awesome, I'll keep my eyes peeled for sure!
What size is the pin that goes through the power rack underneath the bully glyder?
You'll use whatever size your rack holes are (my rack has one inch holes so I'm using a 1 inch pin)
@@MattPendergraphWas that an additional purchase or does it come with a pin size option?
@@Al_304 It could be if you don't already have one. I have several rack attachments and most of them ship with these pins so I have several lying around. You can also use a bolt or a piece of rod, just whatever fits through your rack holes and is strong enough to support the unit

Are you just using the cables that came with the rogue setup?
I am (except for when I show the DIY setups)
Incredible!!!!
Thanks Mr. P!!
Just got mine. Fitting is a tad tight so not as smooth as I hoped. What did you do to combat this?
Have you adjusted the set screws at the rear? Once you have them evenly dialed in it'll take any slop out of the trolley.

Can it be use as functional trainer?
If you purchase two, then it'll absolutely serve as a high/low dual pulley system. I'll probably end up showcasing that feature if you I get my hands on a 2nd unit.
This dude jacked af😮
Haha! I don't know about all that, but thanks broski!
Do the belt squats feel good like doing belt squat?
Identical feel to the Rhino IMO (I have both to compare to)
Hey mat do u think if I get shorter version of bullyglidwr will it still work for belt squats or do u think weigjt plates will hit my knees?
It's hard to say really. You can always step back and let it pull from more of an angle, but you're not technically supposed to do that especially under heavier loads. I'd personally recommend the extension kit just to be on the safe side.
@Matt Pendergraph thank u. I rearrange everything in my garage man cave to make space for incoming ur sauna and now I have a space for belt squat🙄
