I've always been a cupra fan from even from the mk1. A lot of performance for the money so a lot of car for the money. Good to see a UA-cam with one the only other UA-cam is Anthony Eliss but he sold his a while ago

Bought my SC 280 from new, done 80k now with no issues. Had leather n highline infotainment with 10k jukebox, great car.

I personally came across you since I'm looking to potentially get a 280/290. Ive got a bmw 325d (3.0) so would like to go back to petrol and have something fun.
I've only got 1 car so whatever I have needs to be a good daily, about 800 miles per month commuting to work with a lot of motorway. So a good vid for me would be reliability (any failures/common faults) fuel consumption, servicing costs. But thats just me, I wouldn't expect you to out a vid out like that since honestly i don't think that sort of vids attracts viewers.
I know a lot of big youtubers get the views in by having interesting cars that they just throw money at and modify for big hp, but personally I'm more interested in what makes a good daily

Should always put new tyres on the rear, to stop lift off oversteer. Wheels? I have Team Dynamic Imolas on mine, diamond cuts in garage!

The brembo pads from euro car parts are not legit brembo pads. They just stick their name on them

Nice car. Insurance price is heavily linked to your postcode / crime rate as well as age.
Yeah, I have never lived in a particularly “rough” area but always seemed to be paying over and above but finally £600 😂

I need advice on my second car. Which is better seat leon cupra 280 or scirocco R 2013 model??? For sound speed dsg farts and pops and bangs and tuning potential???
Personally I think the cupra, but yeah you’ll need DSG.
@@tootalltodrive my budget is 15k on finance so I could either get cupra 280 cupra 290 or scirocco R but I don’t know which there’s not any videos on comparing them I want a car that pops and bangs a lot and very loud DSG farts and crazy speed. I own a corsa D 1.4 Sri stage 1 at the min
@@drums4sticks444 the 290 has a louder exhaust from stock and with a mid res delete you’d be happy. However, you’d want a scorpion exhaust for better sound. I don’t know anything about the Scirocco R sorry!
@@tootalltodrive I noticed that from reviews I’ve seen it sounds crazy the 290 and I was thinkin of a full turbo back exhaust system for it either cobra or scorpion one which Evers best I’m gonna give it more research and see which is all round best scirocco R or seat Leon 280/290

You took long enough to mod or start talking about it ..lol I had mine for 3 years in may and had the milltek exhaust bought before I got the car. 🤣. Enjoying the videos a lot more though. If yours had the mib2 it can have seat connect. I was lucky to have that but still didn't have the licence from dealer. 😠
Yeah, I asked when I picked up the car about CarPlay but no luck... I mean the tyres, brake discs and pads are barely a “mod” but could be doing more haha
@@tootalltodrive it's a real shame that airplay wasn't standard in the cars from factory. Having it on the audi now it's definitely nice.

Have you ever had any problems with the clutch?
No problems I bought the car at 33,000 and it’s currently at 70ish so it could have been swapped before I bought it... but no problems in my ownership

@@rhyslam5617 People say they are useless and I’ve heard some reports of people saying they lasted 10k miles. It’s a load of rubbish! The clutches are absolutely fine, I have 50k miles on mine with no bothers whatsoever. If you’re tuning and drag racing every time you go to the shops and treating the car like some joy rider then of course there will be issues
@@rhyslam5617 They need changing if remapped as the standard clutch can't take the extra torque.
My 2016 Cupra 280 came with Android auto/Apple car play
It is a must have on my next car! The 280 is dated now

Also, afaik, it just needs activation with a code from dealer, for cars not having it

What 14k in euro thats a steal in holland they atleast cost around 20-30k for second hand.
Would be more like 16/17k in Euro for used that’s crazy the difference though!

@@tootalltodrive It's indeed a huge difference compared to the uk, but this is just buying after the purchase you get to deal with Road taxes/insurance fuel. Everything adding up and the car almost seems undriveable for young drivers and sometimes insurance company's wont even allow you to own a car like this or you are doomed and pay alot of money monthly to get it insured.
The cars are so cheap in UK.

Because of that, romanians buy UK luxury cars and they move the steering wheel from right to left in order to be legal.
any comment on front wheel hop on these, have heard it can be pretty bad?
It happens occasionally under full power from standstill but if you launch it well you will be fine
Can mod the wheel hop out quite cheaply i hear
Just get a dog bone mount insert which will eliminate a lot of it. It's a cheap mod.
does that car have ambient light?
Not sure, I haven’t found that button yet if it does. Just glows turquoise

You weren't tempted to remap it then lol they're an animal stage 1. 360bhp. Though manual cars usually need a clutch upgrade as the standard ones struggle with the extra torque. Also don't buy Brembo brakes from Euro Car Parts. They're utter dogshit lol.
I was advised I would need a new clutch to remap and as I was looking at the next car I didn’t think it would be worth it
And now the car costs around 20k in EU ahahaha
Yeah crazy! I have seen the price be more in the U.K. I sold mine for £10,000 nothing like that now

TooTallToDrive I was only half inch out I thought 6ft 7 n half my son is 6ft 6 n you look a bit bigger. Good video by the way your car sits well on the wheels. Some road tests say the 280 is better than the 300 as the 300 has too much talk steer
