#JerryCantrell #Brighten
Jerry Cantrell has never had a bad song, this whole Brighten album is a freaking masterpiece.
I totally agree. I like it better than the last few AIC records. I love every song
All his solo albums are dope. This one happens to be a bit more special. He allowed Greg in on alot of it.
Facelift had a couple lemons. Still the best guitarist in a generation......mine
@@calio99 boo keep negative criticism to yourself it just makes people think you battle with jealousy issues
Fangirls
Brighten is legit af. Im convinced at this point Jerry is the grunge/metal/country version of Paul McCartney in terms of the quality of his musical output. In terms of consistency. Dude simply does not take L's. Pure musical genius flows through this man's brain.
Just imagine if Jerry and Josh Homme got together
This album is just another confirmation that Jerry Cantrell is a master and will enter into the pantheon of the best albums ever! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
DEFINITELY 👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸!!!!
I really love Jerry’s voice. It’s comforting 😊
Not to mention his laugh. I can't get enough of it 😊
I've always loved his voice!! It's smooth..like ..hmmm.PERFECT!!!
He's David Gilmours son...
@@mikeblaz Wow I never put their vocal styles together, but Jerry does have that same soft and pure approach to singing which just sounds so soothing and warm, Just like Gilmour but with his own tone of course.
Thanks for pointing that out.
@@withmygoodeyeclosed I nailed their styles from the get-go....really similar. Dig them both!
Every day that goes by my love for this album and Rainier Fog grows.
Jerry aging like fine wine. Thrilled I got to meet him on tour, he was everything you'd want your idol to be.
Jerry talking about another record with Greg .... ohhhh baby, let's go!!!
Agree about the fine wine 💯
I loved that part about Greg, too. Greg is adorable and so talented . . . the young 'un in this crowd, with so much fire in his voice.
Me too! ✌🏻he's so cool&so chill God he has that personality that you'd just love to stay&pick his brain for hrs about the past, present&his future ideas, also quite a funny guy. Did NOT disappoint that lil girl that saw him on MTV bck in the beginning all those yrs ago in the 90s &exclaimed "I'm gonna marry Gerry Cantrell "😂 (wow I feel old)🎸🐢
I've heard he's a fucking legit guy when meeting fans. I can count on one hand how many people I'd be star struck by and he's ones of them, heh.
@GallicGun wasn't able to talk long, but he was a class act and engaged me well for our short time together. Really hope to meet him again.
Never seen a interview with Jerry where he don't come across as a mellow. Humble decent guy... it's a wicked album was well impressed
This album came out when I was headed right into the worst depression I've ever faced. A year later, I can say I've made a ton of progress, and I still love this album; but I did put it on the other day and it does bring me back to that strange, dark period. If nothing else, Brighten is already a part of my personal story in that sense.. Which is nothing new for me, considering how much AiC has played a role in my life already. It's just crazy how this kind of music can have such a huge effect! Hope he keeps makin em.
Jerry's music is magic. AIC and all of his solo albums . . . all pure magic.
Right there w ya. Keep going, man.
As someone who dabbles in darkness, the best advice is, get outside and throw yourself into social situations . Even if it's just going to a bar/ library/gym/ cooking class. Inside leads to too much inside.
I felt that with Degradation Trip...I managed to get Volume 1 & 2 (thank you dad's credit card) and found my discman. This album is like a light...well, the title says it all.
It's amazing Elton John, was the inspiration for so many grunge/metal artists...Madman Across the Water is amazing.
I loved it when I heard Jerry doing backup with Gov't Mule doing a cover of Effergy from Creedence...
@@anthonyc.4246 I like that: Inside leads to too much inside. Stealing it for my own mind ;)
The album turned out great, but live it was even better.
I love seeing behind the scenes, something my generation never got in the 80's and 90's except for trying to decipher the album credits lol

I love you Jerry Cantrell. You have helped me through some very low tragic times, and been there through some super happy fun times as well and everywhere in between. I graduated in 1991 and man in the box of course was my first favorite AIC song but I've kinda followed Jerry specifically. I wish I could thank him for his art and tell him how his writing saved my life many times over. Literally physically and mentally . Thank you a million times over.
Hello Shelley
How are you doing today?
Nice meeting you here
Knowing that "Siren Song" was partially inspired by The Lighthouse makes it even cooler!

"nothing clunky coming from this area" HAHAHA!
I’ve listened to this album all the way thru at least 40-50 times and I find new stuff in the layers everytime. Love it so much. Thanks Jerry and Co. for cranking this masterpiece out. Every song is excellent and there’s not a skippable track on there
What a Living Legendary rock icon.
Greatest laugh ever!
Proof that Jerry still is one of the most baddass guys ever.
It's cool to see Greg involved in something pretty fucking cool and reunited with Gil also, I am a Dillinger fan clearly but have always also admired Jerry Cantrell, what a great mix of musicians.
Of course I immediately dug Atone, but I was particularly struck by Goodbye. I stopped dead in my tracks and was completely floored by the amount of emotion I felt listening to it. The brevity of it too I think enhances the power of it, and I was completely stunned by the end. At the time I didn't know this was an Elton John cover, and I worried for a minute that something more serious was happening with Jerry. I absolutely love the album and I've had a great experience with it. From the release of Atone, through listening to the album front to back multiple times and then culminating in San Antonio I felt very connected. The western feel that's mentioned in the documentary is something I connect with too especially after walking through downtown San Antonio eating the local food and exploring museums. Thanks so much Jerry.
Goodbye slayed me. I was born in 67 and Elton John was my most profound early influence, along with some Beatles, and Paul McCartney/ Wings "Uncle Albert" which was popular when I was about 4.
I heard the San Antonio show was amazing . . . was trying to coordinate with my friend there to go, but she wasn't available that weekend (she is an on call doctor who loves music). Missing the Brighten tour is on my list of regrets in this life, lol. I'm grateful for this documentary. It's a very special album . . . alongside all of AIC, and all of Jerry's solo work.
Yeah...that one hit me hard. I lost my son three years ago to an overdose. Jerry has carried the loss of Layne for all of these years, and I feel that sorrow in my heart as well.
A living legend.
I love 💕 you so much Jerry! Many kisses from Greece.
I was blessed to see the great Jerry Cantrell in Pittsburgh/ McKees Rocks. What an amazing musician--the entire group was incredible.
Loved this album from the first time I heard it! They don’t call him #RiffLord for nothing! Saw him in concert in April, we were 10 feet from the stage, was completely mesmerized by his awesomeness! A true rock legend! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wall to wall talent...even the cats! ❤️
Everytime Jerry says fuck, take a swig... You'll be hammered ahaha
That was original!
I loved the album from the first time I heard it, and Siren Song is a poem made into a song, it's beautiful, the lyrics, the music, everything. Thank you Jerry for giving us this masterpiece.
Something about Siren Song…absolute perfection. I love great, thoughtful music. The world lacks thoughtful music…gotta get it back!
I love that you guys love siren song as much as I do. It's the best thing I've heard for ages. You're right, there's something magic about it.
Siren Song is hauntingly beautiful
Jerry is one of the greatest songwriters ever.
1 year already… this album is kick ass! I’m glad Jerry is still here to make awesome music, and hopefully continues to make even more 🤘🤘🤘
It's fucking amazing!!! Holy shit!! Even better live!!!! LOVE OUR RIFF LORD 4 EVER!!!
Hello Gina
How are you doing today?
Nice meeting you here
the world needs Jerry Cantrell albums !!!!!!!!!!!!........keep them coming !!!!!!!!!!!
The vibe coming out of that room. Jerry fits the room, puts it all together.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the album and the old Jerry!!!
Completely agree with them on rock music now. I miss new music, and thie album was fulfilling of all of that. Bless them.
The cat grabbing the microphone... definitely Layne incarnated.
I feel an actual sense of pride having gone through my adult life with both AIC & Jerry Cantrell by my side, musically speaking. "Dirt"was released when I waa age 21 & was the only album, besides my discovery of the first three Led Zeppelin albums the summer I waa age 12, that literally drove me to my living room floor, where I lais in front of my stereo system & plugged in the headphones to spend the entire weekend listening over & over & over to something that in 1992, a girl living in her hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida, a resort town on the Gulf of Mexico, completely captivated by the seductively dark sounds from a far-off land called Seattle. My musical love affair began with love at first listen & I've been slayed by Layne & Jerry, then Jerry, ever since. I believe the harmonization is better than my parents' generation with Crosby, Stills & Nash (I can take or leave Young), & Simon and Garfunkle, both groups I love & reapect, I was raised listening to both, but Layne & Jerry belong to Gen X. Every offering JC has put out has been wonderful to liaten to.
Love Jerry's music. Enjoy always listening to his story telling. He deserves more respect than we can give him. He had nothing and came from nothing and is a master at his craft. Thank you Jerry!
My favorite album of 2023 and I’m sure next year. Definitely my favorite concert of the year. Saw Jerry in Portland Maine
My hero!!!!
SOOOOOOOOO GLAD to see this uploaded to YT, this album hit me in a dark time and made me open back up to the light, while still allowing the darkness to come and go, jerry is a master of songwriting and composition, gotta meet you one day Jerry & band.. and AIC aswell...

Amazing artist...beautiful music...much love...
Picked this up last year and saw Jerry and the guys in Las Vegas. Cried in joy all through this doc. Such a great record.
Talented and too beautiful 😍🔝
This was so cool to see. This record was a big part of my life when it came out and so cool to see moments of its creation. A bunch of powerful artists getting together and sharing, pushing each other. One of the highlights of this year was seeing the band play here in San Diego. Couldn't believe how close I was to the legend and getting to see his songs from all eras played in an intimate room. Thanks Jerry for sharing with us!
Thank you Jerry for the lifelong inspiration both as a musician, and just as a darn cool dude. Keep on rockin it!
