The background is not boring, it's calming - a big difference!
Wow, your videos are so professional yet you still keep it simple. Some UA-camrs go over the top with gear and lighting. Your videos have always achieved the main goal - to focus on the music. You are a likeable and decent guy and this is a really encouraging video. I hope you keep on making these as they are really enjoyable. I love your playing and your humble attitude. Thanks!
Awesome Bill, thanks so much for sharing your story and experience with us. ✨🙏
Love these kinds of videos. Always fun to see people's setups, and even better to hear their advice.
And I love the Cardinal! I have and use the Raven 😄
This was super enlightening, thank you!
Excellent tips, and very encouraging for those just starting out. Setting up a corner of my bedroom as a dedicated video "studio" was a game changer. The cameras, lights, etc. are always there, so I don't have to fuss with setting up every time. One tip I would add is to not be intimidated by the polished looking videos that experienced UA-camrs put out. Instead, use them as inspiration. You don't have to know everything about video and audio to get started. Do the best you can with what you have, educate yourself a little bit at a time, and collect/upgrade your equipment bit by bit. With time and experience, you'll have your own process in place, and your videos will gradually improve in quality.
i love your channel. thanks for sharing.
excellent advice. a big thank you from me.
Thanks again Bill!
Everyone paused the video to look at the shelf
And I zoomed in. Lalalalalolz
That pedal pile though!
Yuppers lol
LOL...guilty as charged!
Excellent
awesome video! You were the one who inspired me to start making my own ambient guitar videos, I just uploaded my first live ambient guitar video yesterday, no post production however as I stream in discord to help me grow my channel... with a John WIck twist of course.
I just use OBS studio which captures my audio and video at the same time.
Great explanation, thanks for sharing.
If you’re a beginner, A big time saver for live performance videos it is possible to capture the performance with audio interface and powered USB hub. I can also do this using OBS because I have a love streaming setup. Can’t remix it later, but it saves on editing time.
great video for some nice insights! two things/tips i would like to add:
-if you use your phone you can send your phone camera to your recording application directly so its in synch with your audio, personally i use VDO ninja to send it to OBS with audio through my audio interface
-on many pedals/synthesizers you can dim the screen which will make it a lot easier for most cameras to pick it up without glitches
Great tips! Thanks!
Whoa, that VDO Ninja is a great tool! Thanks for mentioning that.
no problem, i only found out about it recently myself i love how easy it is to use
Thanks, I love it when a channel gives a behind the scenes, how it's done episode.
I kind of have a mic fetish such that I tend to purchase them even when I don't actually need them. However 3:22 what struck me about this is that your voice sounds fantastic on this video... I'm guessing that some level of room treatment for acoustics contributed to this great sound. But it also goes to show that you don't need a super expensive mic to deliver an appropriately weighty vocal delivery.
Awesome tips! I'm going to start streaming Ambient Improv sessions myself soon, so this is prefect timing! Some things I've thought about and some things I needed reminders on!
Just as you've just said 5:00 0 I use my iPhone to record my tutorials. I have no budget for a better setup. And it works quite well.
Good evening, great inspirational video. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for some great tips.
Thank You for this!!
Thank ya for the great tips. Now I can put to use my other cameras.
One question though I play Native American flute and I would like to get a Bluetooth mic to use with my Logic Pro especially if I’m outside. Any suggestions?
Bill - Have you ever had your sync audio and video manually due to the camera video not having a version of the audio at all? (Maybe the audio was totally "in the box" in headphones only, something like that) I've never done this before, and am wondering if there's any trick or specific process for it.
How do you remotely turn the cameras on/off?
I don't. I just walk over to each camera and turn them on and off.
