  • I have been having a few arguments about why Enhance mode is useless for Large Gold Nuggets at depth, this video proves a point. It makes little difference using Gold or a battery for tests, also it makes little difference if in air or ground with a pulse Induction detector.

    Also wanted to say....the big DD coil is still very sensitive to the sub-grammers in bad ground so don't feel you are missing the small one's because of not using a mono.

    Thanks Peter,
    Yep, I learnt this lesson last season when testing (in quite bad ground) my 14" Coiltek Elite in Enhance timing against the Detech 15" DD in Normal timing.....this was on a buried target. The DD has been on ever since....wish it was a lighter coil though ! I also enjoy the benefits of good EMI supression and a touch of Iron Reject for the surface/shallow iron.

    Hi. Seareh Mode . Custom, G, Deep - Also change the duration of pulses? With respect.

    hi Woody I love the videos and your layman’s explanation, much appreciated, I have the original version 4500 and can’t run it in normal in the WA goldfields, will your mod make it a quieter machine and useable in the goldfields in normal so I keep the depth and sensitivity bug useable in hotter ground than normally useable in this setting? I want to be able to use the Coiltek 11” mono elite mainly, any help or advise is much appreciated, definitely keen on your mod if it will do the trick

      Being able to adjust the timing as in samples per tx rx cycle can reduce the hot rock response, adjustable front end gain can reduce the front end saturation from super hot ground.

    Switching from normal to deep only changes the audio filters, to get maximum depth on big targets you must use normal timings, the evolution and elite coils are borderline on enhance as they are under damped , if you look on the oscilloscope they ring out for up to 7 us.

      Peter Woodland thanks Pete. Most places in the west you can't run the new elite coils in Normal, so have to run enhanced. So I guess it a compromise. But I'm thinking if searching for deep targets may be better to run in Normal with the quietest coil? Even if older type?? your video helped me alot, as my little patch with shallow nuggets turned up a 12 Grammer at over a foot. I was using a 14 inch elite in enhanced, but will go back and run in Normal.
      FYI, we still have my GP you a modded.

    How does it
    pickup the battery at a distance in cancel mode I tried it and you can't it has to be close ??????

      I have upgraded the receiver section in my detectors, they go much deeper.

    What metal should I use to test my detector instead of gold cos I don't have one. I am a first time user of Gpx 4500 that I bought recently.

      Use melted aluminium, sounds the same as old.

    Will enhance be better when searching for small targets or will normal mode suit both large and small at variable debths?

    • @htfwik
      @htfwik 7 років тому

      The only benefit using Enhance is less charging up the ground thus making the ground less noisy but at the expense of not giving big deep targets enough of a charge to get much signal back from the target. if the ground is quiet then use normal and if it is red hot use enhance with a small coil thus optimised for small gold.

      Peter Woodland what difference will deep mode or general mode make? Assuming I'm using fixed ground balance and normal soil timings.

    Thanks Pete, I only use enhance with the new elite coils when the ground is noisy, What is the power output in Deep?

    Hi Pete
    I was just wondering what your Website is called to get in contact with you?.
    I've had a look on google but not sure.
    Cheers

    Hi guys, I am using G and deep mode mostly with normal timing . How is using custom-very deep mode?
    Is custom very deep mode deeper than general or deep mode ?

    • @peterwoodland446
      @peterwoodland446  4 роки тому

      If you are looking for very large targets the deep mode is better, if the targets are small it is better to use general setting. Custom mode is difficult to set up, it needs a lot experimenting.

      @@peterwoodland446 Thank you Peter, actually I am not searching for gold nuggets I use GPX for hunting relics in Tombs and graves ! I need a very good setting for large targets in depth max. 2 meters. I use big coils for this.
