I'd say worth it. I got one and love it. 6-7 hours sot. Camera much better. Got rid of my iphone 15 pro for it. Couldn't deal with esim and apples storage issues can't clear cache like I can with Android. I do wish they could make the regular 8 like the pro though. I'm not a big phone person.
Good for you but "great" is not the first word that comes to mind for the Pixel 6a. Average processor, average screen, bad battery life. Excellent camera and clean Android, as expected. Sold it pretty fast.
I’ve been waiting ever since the 4a for Google to become the iPhone of android. They’ve always had the potential but this year it looks like a huge step in the right direction. Now they have the software support and each year they are refining the hardware and software. To the point I’m questioning why I’m on iPhone. Years ago it was no contest Apple was light years ahead. The Pixel 8 series and the Tensor G3 chip is evidence of how far Google has come. The best part is you could get a Pixel 6 or 6a in late 2023 and still be getting the same quality overall. And longevity is the key to Google competing with Apple in my opinion because it’ll have many questioning why stay on iOS where it’s so limiting and never evolves.
I was one of the people that upgraded every year and I stopped that this year I have a 14pm and decided not to get the new iPhone because it just wasn’t enough I’m very satisfied and will wait another year
Verizon is offering 800 dollar trade in for my google 7 pro so you think itll be worth upgrading? Bad thing is i have to pay off the 7 pro to be able to get the 800 dollar trade in
A lot of reviews say the P7 Pro's battery life is better than the 8 Pro. So I ended up picking up the 7 Pro, also because I don't use AI features. All I care about is camera quality, optical zoom and good battery life. I don't think the 8 Pro is worth it for me.
How is that much ,much better ?? Most of the camera comparisons between them phones showing that cameras are almost exactly the same @@StevealiciousTech
You're right, but definitely wait for a deal. The 7 has its problems, but it's still a great phone, and a refurbished 7P can be found for under $500 right now, compared to $1000 for the 8P. I think this video will be spot on in a few months when the 8s drop in price as they inevitably do.
Yes Google's trade in values are very frustrating, too low!! Google should be embarrassed. Google management should go take a look at what Samsung offers. I did not trade up this year because of it. Best Buy definitely beat out Google and that's sad.
WARNING: pixel 7 pro displays are failing left and right. Mine just failed 3 days ago on vacation :/. really hoping the pixel 8 pro display doesn't have the same issue.
I’ll skip the pixel 8 series if you have 7 or 7 pro with the updates over time would improve pixel 7 series only thing with the pixel 8 series is 7 years of updates and ai features that’s it which is better but the pixel 7 series would improve over time minus the 7 years of updates and ai features your choice would be the pixel 9 series I’m sure it would be better
Hopefully it's better than the Pixel 6 Pro. That phone isn't worth half its price. 💯 The 8 Pro looks cool, but not cool enough that I'd risk buying it. After 2 years with the P6P, I'm ready to go back to Samsung. Lesson learned. 😎
That's fair. I was burned by the 6 as well. It's why consumer confidence in pixel phones ranks rather low. Don't blame you for leaving! But this one is quite a bit better.
@@StevealiciousTech I hope so. The list of things wrong with my phone is neverending. Every time someone asks me to elaborate, it takes an hour to type it out. Android 14 did partially fix some things, but new problems came with it, like with every update & patch we've had.
@@StevealiciousTechmy pixel 6 runs as smooth as silk, battery feels like it's improved dramatically since I installed android 14. I've never experienced the heating issue. The only thing that lets down my pixel is the below average display brightness
Good job if u guys all reviewers just would have kept ur big fat hole shut the pixel 8 would basically still have all features. U just said it to many reviewers said it wasn't worth it now they crippled the phone. Thank you so much reviewers SMH.
You’re joking, right? We all said it because it was the correct thing to say. The proper response from Google would be lessening the price gap or increasing the amount of features on the Pixel 8 Pro NOT take features away from the 8, but go ahead and blame reviewers instead of the company making the money. @@StevealiciousTech I am giving u a hard time. Honestly I really do blame apple for it. It's close...still hold onto your 7 Pro, but there is a lot of temptation to upgrade.

The 8 Pro is pretty tempting - but my great 6a is still keeping me away from spending so much on some additional features
I agree I'm still using pixel 6a also

Will be getting the One plus open?
Yes, it should be here this week.
@StevealiciousTech awesome me too I look forward to your take on it
Any updates on whether or not the 7P will get the AI updates of the 8P?
Did a video on that just now! I don't know...but I hope it does.
There is no excuse for not including a feature especially if it is being processed on the Google servers in the cloud like Video Boost
How does the pixel 8 pro compare to the pixel 7 pro in cellular and wifi connectivity?
Significantly better. I didn't have as much issue with my 7 Pro but my 7a is AWFUL, so thankfully it seemed corrected on the 8 Pro.

Yeah end up getting the P8 cuz of the size but it's definitely a bummer it doesn't get all the features it almost makes me want to return it.
The keys in the other pocket line had me 😆 spot on.
It's really incredible...I was being VERY careful with the phone and it looked beat up in no time.
Was your P7 Pro on Android 14 when you compared the two phones ? Because apparently battery life is improved
