The color popped on the iPhone side yet was subdued on the Pixel 8's? Look at the "Rowntree" building photos? the iPhone looks MUCH better. The Pixel's is very blurry. Even with the large white text.
The iPhone definitely looks more pleasing with its heavier contrast as it tends to crush the blacks but the dynamic range on the Pixel 8 Pro is MUCH better. The two primary camera features need to be sent to the cloud as the Pixel 8 is currently unable to cope with that processing. This is one area where the performance is restrictive. I suspect if Apple had "Video Boost," then that could easily be done on-device. So, anyone saying they do not need the power who may like these cloud features, the Tensor 3 remains a hindrance.
Well, we don't know how resource intensive these features are, it could even be that the iPhone with it's shiny new A17 Pro may not be able to process these features on device
All I know is my 7 Pro worked great for PUBG, but the game plays terribly on my 8 Pro. I also can't get my primary credit to work on Tap to Pay, and I cannot open settings for the Play Store app. Something's off with my 8 Pro.
The passmark performance test scores for the pixel 7 pro is totally wrong, my pixel 7 gets 8375 for the cpu vs 5164 as seen on the video that definitely not at all close
Nice job on the video looks like it's got some upgrades I guess is long as you're 7 pro is running well maybe keep it but if you happen to be one of the people that got one of the seven pros that's not running well then I would trade it in... On another thought any chance you're going to take a look at the regular pixel 8?
I’m looking to buy either the pixel 8 or 7 pro because the prices there aren’t as high as the 8 pro. Which do u think I should go for. I’m more swayed to going toward the pixel 8 for the 7 years of updates and the brighter screen but the 7 pro is larger, cheaper.
If the battery is worse or even just a tad better than the 7 pro I will be returning my 8 pro because the 7 pro battery life is atrocious... although, this is the first video I've seen where the UA-camr has said this runs warmer than the 7 pro and the battery life is a bit less than the 7 Pro
Battery life overall is better. Only under intense performance does it start to suffer. So if you’re just doing normal things battery life will be great
Man I wish to upgrade to this because I am not fond of rounded corners either but seems like a waste right now. I will hold on and deal with the rounded corners I guess 😢
More AI? I understand that all the AI stuff happens on the Google servers, not on the phone itself. The Pixel 8 pro is not worth the giant leap (200€ extra compared to 7 pro) in price for what you get in return. It is barely an upgrade if you already own a 7 pro imho.
The phone itself is nice but Tensor G3 is what brings it down. I wouldn't touch one with Tensor manufacturered by Samsung. I would rather wait for TSMC manufacturing. Until then I'll stick with Snapdragon
They’re definitely more pleasing in the sense that the iPhone really increases the contrast so the picture pops but it looses out in dynamic range compared to the pixel 8 pro. It’s very subjective but in terms of getting a more realistic shot with higher detail the pixel 8 pro does it better. As for that 30x zoom that’s just more me of trying to keep my hand steady since digital zoom at that distance requires the phone to be completely still

They offer more trade-in credit on a FOUR YEAR OLD iPhone 11 pro ($380) than they do for their own 7 Pro that's less than a year old!!! ($310). ZERO consumer loyalty focus is enough to make me switch to Samsung or OnePlus next go around, not to mention data that actually works. I'm an iPhone 11 user and thinking of upgrading in the first quarter of next year but I'm skeptical about the hardware performance of the pixel. Is it going to last comfortably for 3 years? As they cost the same as base iPhone models in the UK.
I've had iPhones and pixel phones. All my pixel phones have outlasted my iPhones by a long mile. I've literally dropped my pixel on its face multiple times and had no issues.
I have the pixel 2 still kicking around somewhere. I just added a new battery to it a while ago and its still usable!
Pixels perform well for years. I would even say the og Pixel XL is still usable.
Have you noticed that fingerprint sensor works slower than ultrasonic one in samsung?
Is better than iPhone 15 pro max or Xiaomi 13?
I HATE THE THE FLAT SCREEN!!!! PRONE TO BREAKING!!!!!!!😩
Any advice on which to buy? Pixel 8 or S23 Plus. Both at the same price now.
I'm in the same place
s23 is a better phone, but pixel has a better and cleaner software
I don't understand the reason why they decided to add thermometer in pixel 8. For me it's just something to get more money from people.
I thought the front facing camera was upgraded. Same quality they just added auto focus
Anyone know how I get on screen navagation buttons up? Not a fan of gestures.... (It's not in gestures menu)
Under settings go to navigation mode and you can select 3-button navigation instead of gestures.
the speakers could sound better on the 7 due to break in on the drivers. update us in a few months on the difference. speaker drivers have a break in time to sound their best
they dont sound better...they sound louder
@@jnrbshp so far agree, just got mine and not as much bass. but i had gotten a replacement p6pro phone before and was like huh, this doesn't sound as good as last one. wasn't as bassy like this one. really just needed to break the phone in tho me think, but we'll see
The upgrade on live transcribe comes from bring able to speak 2 languages woth out stoping, for me huge plus im cuban sobi speak alot of Spanglish especially when voice texting now i dont have to pause it will pick up english to spanish and back to English etc.
That's true! But I feel like that's SUPER niche feature to use. However, still really cool!
Don’t they already have that on the 6/7?
@@MatthewMoniz not in Florida especially Miami , Spanglish is spoken almost everywhere
@@hhhmmmmmmmm you have to stop for a few seconds to detect different languages, now you can just start speaking English to Spanish with no pauses and it pics up every everything I hated because I would talk to my wife some words English and then I would say hey mi amor how is your day , and if I didn't pause it would go haywire
@@mrdadecounty3056 ooh, I need that. So that G3 or a software update?
Got the 7pro and loving it. I'll see what the 9th will look like
I just got the 7 pro as replacement a month ago! Might as well wait for the 9 and trade mine in for that. If youve had any other pixel for much longer, the 8 or 8 pro is worth looking into especially if you have a working trade in
I was going to do iphone. But I am going to upgrade to the 8 Pro from the 7
Nice! Let me know how you like the pro!
@@MatthewMoniz I will let you know for sure
Does the pixel 8 pro support "USB-C DISPLAY PORT" DP ALT MODE
All indications point to no, sadly.
Battery consumption is enough to push me away.
I'm sticking with my Xperia 1 V until either the S24 ultra or Xperia 1 VI
You do know you don't have to run your phone at max specs 24/7 right? I easily get 10 hours screen on time
@@dyllangames3592 not true
@@hazza_007 yes it is true 🤣 I use UA-cam before work, I go to work, I come home and watch more UA-cam till my phone is at 5% then I go to bed. I wake up around 7:30 am and go to bed around midnight
@@dyllangames3592 even purely on wifi the Pixel lineup with the Tensor and poor modem can't get what you are claiming. Pixel will only have a better chance when the Pixel 10 comes out with TSMC Tensor chip
@@hazza_007 it does and I've even seen multiple reviewers on UA-cam so a day in the life videos where they're up even earlier than me and go to bed later than me and their phone is on maybe 5% when they go to bed. Adaptive battery learns your patterns, and it's no joke.
Pixel 8 pro better than iPhone 15 series I think the pixel 7 pro is about the same as the 8 pro series There is not much difference between the 7 pro or 8 pro but I'll say the 8 pro is a little better than 7 pro lets see what pixel 9 is going to bring next year
Google software is so advanced that when I used my iPhone feels like an 80 phone !! Sorry apple but you are way behind...
Yeah imagine paying $930 to experience 60hz refresh rate display lol Apple is ripping of their consumers yet they still get praised for it
Definitely hold your phone at least 3 years minimum to see any new significant changes.
I have to disagree. The Pixel 8 pro sounds more full and open as opposed to the 7 pro that sounds more hollow and clogged
New camera modules depends on who reviews the phone
All I know is my 7 Pro worked great for PUBG, but the game plays terribly on my 8 Pro. I also can't get my primary credit to work on Tap to Pay, and I cannot open settings for the Play Store app. Something's off with my 8 Pro.
The passmark performance test scores for the pixel 7 pro is totally wrong, my pixel 7 gets 8375 for the cpu vs 5164 as seen on the video that definitely not at all close
There is no improvement in battery compared to previous 7pro??? Plz tell me, is it a easy one day phone?
Definitely an easy 1 day phone. 1.5 days if you're a lighter user
Nice job on the video looks like it's got some upgrades I guess is long as you're 7 pro is running well maybe keep it but if you happen to be one of the people that got one of the seven pros that's not running well then I would trade it in... On another thought any chance you're going to take a look at the regular pixel 8?
Would you buy a 8 pro at $999 or 7 pro at $300 open box excellent condition
7 pro
Dude, the Pix 8 is as slippery as fish outta water, are you insane or does google send the checks?
Google needs to put the radar back on...so stupid they removed it.
Just got my pixel 8 pro today. LOVING IT
Are we going to get a dedicated video for the pixel 8?
Yes sir
Thanks because I more interested in the pixel 8 for some wired reason.@@MatthewMoniz
So if you’re just doing normal things battery life will be great
I wouldn't get it if you expect better battery life.
Get a phone with SD 8 Gen 2 or wait for one with SD 8 Gen 3.
Very least wait for S24 ultra
Fire contents as always
Thanks I appreciate it!
Excellent comparison. Part of me wants to get ab iPhone because I've never had one, but seeing this video makes me want the Pixel 8 Pro.
Glad I could help!
Man I wish to upgrade to this because I am not fond of rounded corners either but seems like a waste right now. I will hold on and deal with the rounded corners I guess 😢
ATT is giving me a pixel 8 pro for free for turning in my pixel 7 pro and switching to them.
More AI? I understand that all the AI stuff happens on the Google servers, not on the phone itself. The Pixel 8 pro is not worth the giant leap (200€ extra compared to 7 pro) in price for what you get in return. It is barely an upgrade if you already own a 7 pro imho.
You look like Bradley Martin if he was 160 and not 260.
I have the 7pro I'll wait for the 9pro
Same here, although that new blue colour is really tempting me 😅
Smart move!
No reason to upgrade at this point. The difference is so minute.
How Many Years does the Pixel 7 Pro have for its updates please?!
Yeah I'm keeping my Pixel 7 Pro, I will wait until the 9 or 10. But the Pixel is almost there
The phone itself is nice but Tensor G3 is what brings it down. I wouldn't touch one with Tensor manufacturered by Samsung. I would rather wait for TSMC manufacturing.
Until then I'll stick with Snapdragon
Oof how do go backwards with speaker sound quality..
should i buy the pixel 7 pro or the latest pixel 8 base variant?
Am I the only one who sees iPhone 15 pro photos much better than pixel 8? Especially 30x zoom. It feels like a mistake in comparison))
They’re definitely more pleasing in the sense that the iPhone really increases the contrast so the picture pops but it looses out in dynamic range compared to the pixel 8 pro. It’s very subjective but in terms of getting a more realistic shot with higher detail the pixel 8 pro does it better. As for that 30x zoom that’s just more me of trying to keep my hand steady since digital zoom at that distance requires the phone to be completely still
@@MatthewMonizat some point I want to agree with you, but all reviews are saying that pixel's is something about post post processing photos with help of AI to make it more pleasant for the eye, which is actually iPhone doing better) a bit controversial.
Wish they would get rid of that optical fp sensor 🙄
I'm updating from a Pixel 6 Pro, hopefully it's a decent upgrade :)
Have a 7 Pro, was looking at the 8 Pro. Faster battery drain because of the screen and higher CPU/GPU clock speeds, no meaningful camera improvements, gimmicky temp sensor and AI features, and STILL the same garbage 5G modem that drops data connection every few minutes (its so bad google added a "reset connection" icon on the internet settings page because you have to tap it constantly) all for $100 more...and the kicker? They offer more trade-in credit on a FOUR YEAR OLD iPhone 11 pro ($380) than they do for their own 7 Pro that's less than a year old!!! ($310). ZERO consumer loyalty focus is enough to make me switch to Samsung or OnePlus next go around, not to mention data that actually works. The cameras ARE great, but since that's only 10-15% of the total experience, they screwed the pooch pretty good.
What is the best battery phone you have used then?:)
