For real. She's a criminal. I can sympathise with the situation she was in, but she was still a criminal nevertheless, people were putting her on too high of a pedestal. It could not have been good for her mental health at all, especially since because of her upbringing, her mental age would be extremely low. I hope she's getting the help she needs.

I live in Springfield MO and at the time I thought it was interesting and now that she got out (which I don’t think she should’ve been let out) and seeing everyone fan girl over her it’s sooooo gross!! This girl literally acts EXACTLY like her mom!

Definitely. In Gypsy's case it can be argued that she just didn't see another way out of her situation and she wasn't able to think of any better ways to go due to her lack of experience with the real world but what her mental state must be for her to go about it in such a way is what makes me believe that she should have the proper support necessary.

She even ran away once before her mother found her again and made papers saying she is mentally unstable and incapable of taking care of herself so that if she ever ran away again, the police could find her and bring her back to her mother.

I had the same thought process as Brett. I was happy she was out, but I was saddened that she had to deal with all of this fame as soon as she got out. I was also concerned that she was already married. I felt she needed more time to live for herself for once, and time to grow up.

I grew up bout 30 mins away, to where it all happened, I could point you exactly where the house was. I knew the story, and everything in between.. but people are obsessed about her.. you heard what happened, you felt bad but at the end of the day she did kill her mother. There could have been different ways to get out of the situation, but for someone who does need to find herself and who she is she shouldn’t be putting it out online. She needs to search and put her priorities first..

I had never heard of this woman, and I have no idea why anyone would follow her. Why would anyone want to monitor the life of anyone so tragic, and probably so damaged? What happen to finding role models to aspire to -- even if it's just movie-star life that will never happen. This one is overwhelmingly sad.
Regardless of her circumstances I think idolizing somebody who organized a murder and couldn't even do it on her own should NOT be famous...

Enlighten me to how someone who was abused as a child voluntarily grifted with her abuser. Was she a murderer? Yes, is she manipulative now? Yes. Again, manipulation was something she was taught. Calling her a cold blooded murderer I feel is a bit much considering the situation she was in. Yes, it was a bad decision and absolutely could have been handled in a different way. I hope that Gypsy takes all the time she needs to figure out who she is without the internet and social media.
She's extremely narcissistic and loves the attention that she's received from these people who hail her as some kind of a martyr. She took advantage of a mentally challenged guy to kill her mother and now she's used and discarded another fool who fell for her manipulative ways.

I mean, I'm really biased about her, because I've learned about everything she went through as a child, it's not just being kept at home, it's enormous amounts of drugs she didn't need, countless surgeries she didn't need, awful treatments, etc. Her life was actual hell, that's why I really don't think she should've gone to prison, but to a psychiatric institution where she could get treatment to overcome everything she lived. If that wasn't self defense then we should remove that from the penal code because nothing is. I also agree that she needs to discover who she is, she went from one prison to another, and from there to being free for the fist time ever, I don't know, but it feels like she deserves some alone time imo.

I personally think she could have pled insanity and gone into a mental institution instead of prison. Either way, she served her time in prison and I'm glad she's able to start her life now!

The court didn’t have to prove abuse or anything
She admitted guilty to murder they don’t need the abuse to be true or not
They want to know if she murdered her mom or not she admitted guilty
So the story Gypsy gives to the media is the story u get
In other words the story the killer gives to the media is the story u get it’s all the media has to go off of
But if u read the casebook and all the texts between her and Nick it’s a whole different story and if u go through the crime scene photos there’s a lot of little things that say a lot
So if u have the crime scene photos I will show u evidence markers to look at

I'm not saying the whole marriage was manipulation of public perception to build a family-friendly image, and/or something to help her get through prison with something to look forward to. But I'm not saying it can't have been so.
To preface: I'm old. I grew up before social media. We talked to each other. If you couldn't contact your friend on their home phone you had to wait until you saw them to talk to them. It taught us to communicate, to learn how to read other people. It's a skill that has slowly become lost. Everything is a sound bite or a tagline now. " Living our best life." Is an example. We don't talk about who we are, we pretend at something for a camera. It's sad really. No one is making those deeper human connections we need anymore. It makes me worry about the generations to come.

Gypsy at the very least should be under court supervision... she should have a curfew, pay restitution, and file as a murderer. This is just setting a precedent that any child can murder their parent....and spend very little time in prison. I know her circumstances were cruel and unusual....but it does not excuse her from being accountable.
If you lived most of your life with an abusive and controlling parent, finding your own identity is crucial after breaking away from them and it’s also difficult. I wish her the best and hope she finds her true self. Good luck love ❤
