These date balls are so yummy and bring back fun childhood memories.
Date Balls:
Ingredients:
250g pitted dates
250g butter
1 cup sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla essence
250g rice krispies
1 cup coconut
Directions:
Cut the dates into small pieces.
In a pot over low heat melt the butter, once the butter has melted add in the sugar and the salt and mix until the sugar dissolves.
Add in the dates and mix to combine.
add the lid and allow to cook for 10 minutes, stirring throughout.
Add in the vanilla and mix to combine.
Add in the rice krispies and mix until everything is evenly coated.
Allow to cool for 5-8 minutes, mixture should be cool enough to handle but not cold since mixture will not stick together.
Roll the date balls in the coconut.
Enjoy making date balls!
Great!!! Thank you for sharing, this is the same recipe my grandma used to make and were my favorite also! 😊
It's so good!
oh yum - I love these!
Yes, that's it! Exactly how i remember them. Yummy. Good for a lunchbox at school or work. 💐
So good!
An also does this need fridge or countertop and how much pieces/ ball does 1 lot make
a batch normally makes between 35-45 balls, depending on the size of the balls, you can have on the countertop for 1 or 2 days, longer then that place in the fridge. enjoy!!!
Can one use crushed biscuits instead of rice krispies?
give it a try, I have not used crushed biscuits in the recipe before, but if you try, let me know how it goes, would really appreciate it. enjoy!

Put the lid on and stir throughout??? How do you do that?
cover with a lid but now and then remove lid and give mixture a stir so that it does not burn. hope you enjoy!
