HD makes an oil cooler but this one is made by UltraCool in CA
consider the Oil Bud oil cooler...$$$, I installed on my ultra limited...big difference....-30 degree drop in circulating oil temp...and noticeable difference in engine ops (no pinging) and heat off of the motor...passenger (right) leg doesn't get heat torched anymore.
You guys are simply the best!! Would a oil cooler help with a vapor lock problem?? If not, what would you suggest?
Do we really need a thermostat control for an old shovelhead. It always runs at 220° F + in warm weather so the oil should be flowing through the oil cooler at all times. I don't understand what the problem would be if the oil ran cool say 130F it would still easily circulate through the engine.
Does Harley make this cooler? I seen some on Harley's website but dont know if this is the one ty??
220 degrees it kicks on ? That’s nuts. Stock Harley kicks on at 200 & that’s to high. by the time the oil hits 220 your engine temps will be 300 or more.
Pardon my probably stupid question. The HD Ultra Classic's engine throws off a lot of heat, sitting at a stop sign, stop light, or trapped in rush hour, or construction traffic. Will the UltraCool Oil Cooler, dissipate some of that heat?
