Fun fact: the name of the actor that portrays the white guy is actually called Guy. Offspring used to bring him to the concerts everytime they performed this song back then
He also beat out Seth Green in auditions for the part in the video. This was right after Can’t Hardly Wait came out, Seth Green played the “fly” white guy in that movie.

I went and saw them this year and they have an animated rotoscoped version of him on the displays which I loved because I think rotoscoping is the funniest thing ever, and they had those waving inflatable things you always see outside of car washes but it was him. The Offspring continue to be geniuses

People today probably don't get the Riki Lake reference. She was a talk show host, kind of like Jerry Springer. The Offspring's greatest hits album is absolute 🔥 another good one is Why Don't You Get a Job. Gotta Get Away is one of my favorites from them
That's Ricki Lake. That reference dates the song and the target audience.
Greatest Hits is a sampling, but it's missing Jennifer Lost the War, which is an amazing song, and so indicative of where they were going.
Hate to break it to ya but a lot of people probably won't know who Jerry Springer is either.
A lot of the references are dated. I'm not sure this UA-camr even got the Ice Cube/Vanilla Ice reference.

Every couple of months I get that damn "Give it to me, Baby! Ah Huh Ah Huh!" hook stuck in my head, and I never knew where it came from. I don't even listen to The Offspring. That's funny as hell.
The 80s and 90s were such a fun time to be a teenager/young adult. For the most part, everyone got along great. You notice in this video ALL the girls are really pretty (they were back then!!). No one is trying to fight this nerdy kid. There are no weapons, drugs, alcohol or cussing. Proof that you can have a good time and still maintain a certain level of integrity.
Offspring one of the great Punk bands of the 90's/2000's. I miss Dexter and Noodles, they knew how to rock and how to have fun, always worth listening to more of them.
The Offspring are my "guilty pleasure" band. Even though there is nothing guilty about their music. Rock on, Offspring.

God how I loved this song and the video even more...pure classic and the kind of rock that rarely makes it to the top anymore. I grew up in the 70's but I remember really loving the 90's, not as nostagia, not afterwards but at the time I was aware that this was a high point in music. Love it.

In fact, after Ja Rule came after 50 Cent over details of a robbery and wether or not 50 cent hung out with the robber at a club later, 50 Cent retaliated with the song “Wanksta,” dissing Ja Rule for trying to be hard core when he was really a phony (in 50 Cent’s perspective).
