Thank you. As soon as the chorus came in, I knew right away. I was hoping it wouldn’t take me long to find a comment referencing this Beatles tune. I wasn’t disappointed. This tune is OK, but it just makes me want to hear the Beatles more. BE SAFE. Peace...✌️
Dexter Holland, the lead singer, has a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, both from the University of Southern California. Dexter was a Ph.D. candidate in Molecular Biology; however, he abandoned his Ph.D. in favor of focusing on The Offspring, according to IMDB. He is also an FAA licensed Airline Transport Pilot. He owns and flies a 2003 Cessna Citation jet 2. And, on top of that, he graduated from my high school way back before I attended! 🤯
At some point, they must have said “there are a lot of people who are in bad relationships with freeloaders, and it is making them miserable or angry.. No one is talking about it. Let’s write a song about that.” Great execution. And the video is fantastic. One guy literally flies in out of nowhere and speaks the truth. Pretty soon, the entire town is on board.
The Offspring: Bad Habit You want a song everyone can relate to and is a release of anger, that's the one. You're right, they have different sounds and are more varied than I gave them credit for back in the day.
Come Out and Play and You're Gonna Go Far should definitely be next. You will know it's The Offspring, but they will sound completely different yet again. I was fortunate to see them live back in the day. Such a high energy, fun concert that was. Typical Offspring.
there's one word you said in the video that describes the offspring with that single word! RELATABLE! and there album they released this year is just so them, it's like they had this all recorded back in the day n saved it for now 🙌
Did ya spot it? They're in the set from Back to the Future! That's the city hall with the clock tower they light up with lightning to get Marty back to 1985. :) The Offspring was played at EVERY PARTY I ATTENDED in the 1990s. Just awesome.
Fun Fact: Starting @2:39 the host in the game show scenes is a real-life gameshow host Bob Eubanks, who has hosted game shows like "The Newlywed Game" and "Card Sharks"
Uhm, album before next drop was "Days Go By" from 2012, no 15 years between those, almost 9 years though. I know it was pushed back several times from it's initial intended release in 2010, but they continued writing and working on it til it was released
Love the channel. Couple of suggestions for you. Missing by everything but the girl (Todd Terry remix) such a classic. Or true faith by new order. Dont know if you've done them already. 👍
You know what? I've known this song since it came out but today it was the first time that I had that same thought in my mind! I didn't have a specific Beatles song in my mind, but it was the Beatles. It was just the instruments they were using. I would have gone more in the direction of Penny Lane but no, you're absolutely right! It's definitely sounding like Obla Di... :)
The video was filmed on the Universal backlot. You'll notice the houses from Desperate Housewives and the town square from gremlins and back to the future.
Offspring "Gone Away" came in 6th in 2005 Greatest Hits. It was written by lead singer Dexter Holland in an emotional response to his girlfriend’s death in a car accident. This song was what put them on the world stage.
i saw them live last year with simple plan and it was SO fun im so glad to see people appreciating them. i always felt like they were really underrated but i grew up listening to them with my mom and they’re so nostalgic for me
I like that you have a ELO poster on your wall. Jeff Lynne is 1 of the best and underrated composers of the last 50 years. Good to see the love is appreciated by others aswell.
My niece and her friends partied with the Offspring after they performed in theNetherlands. She had the guitar player on the back of her bicycle going to a different spot to party! How freaking Dutch is that. Cabs? Fuck that. Bicycle rides are free. lol
Also "Kristy are you doing ok?" and "gone away" are more serious Offspring tracks that need someone to react to them. The band has some range that's worth looking at.
Love the reaction thank youu! Love hearing the 90s alternate rock! I'll temp you with checking out Marcy Playground "Sex and Candy".. let's see if you can resist! Great reactions tonight as always and I heard 2 new songs I've never heard before, following along, thank youu!
Their song "Bad Habit" from the album Smash was what introduced me to this band back in the 90's. Featured pretty much all the swear words I knew at time point, as a non-native English speaker. I was instantly hooked.
Hey, I'm sure these have been suggested but the 1st song I remember was "Come Out and Play," living in ATL, young, and listening to an Alt-Rock station. Anyway, "Gone Away," "All I Want" and "Gotta Get Away" are also good. "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" is a more recent hit ('08), others are 90s, I think. They are actually considered punk. I think Green Day is, too, for that matter. They aren't my favorite people but they have many other good songs: "When I Come Around," "Basket Case," "American Idiot" (I think it's probably insulting...), "Hitching A Ride," "Brain Stew," "Good Riddance (The Time of Your Life)," "Redundant," "Longview," "She" & "Welcome to Paradise." Suggestions! Thanks for your Offspring reactions. Enjoy your weekend!
Hey, one of my favorite songs, let alone one of my favorite Offspring songs, is "She's got issues." It was one of their lesser hits, IIRC, but I feel it's brilliant.
Check out : Travis : Sing,Why does it always Rain on me,Driftwood,Turn,Closer, Side, Flowers in the window, Writing to reach you,Love will come trough,My Eyes,Moving,The Beautiful Occupation,Quicksand. Fun Fact: This song was done to the tune/cadence of The Beatles "ob-la-di ob-la-da"
With some Celia thrown in to avoid copyright infringement.
"Done to" is a nice way to say "ripped off." I like the song, though.
Honestly, I can't not hear "Moving Right Along" on The Muppet Movie. It''s got a very similar beat.
Thank you. As soon as the chorus came in, I knew right away. I was hoping it wouldn’t take me long to find a comment referencing this Beatles tune. I wasn’t disappointed. This tune is OK, but it just makes me want to hear the Beatles more.
BE SAFE. Peace...✌️
There are even some lyrical references - "La la how the life goes on" vs "Na na why don't you get a job" - both songs are awesome!
I just here smiling at my screen ... I miss the 90's... oh no.. I'm that person now..
I'm 53 and turning into Bill Burrs worse nightmare. I say " kids turn that down it's not music"
The Offspring just jump right in...lol. Every verse in this song is someone's truth. I love this song ❤❤❤.
You’re info is a little out of date. He completed his Ph.D a few years ago. 🤓
My son goes to that high school.
Not having the "hey that's something everyone can enjoy" at the end of the song it's giving me some OCD vibes. Great reaction as always.
It didnt phase me until I saw your comment and read the " " in the old lady voice 🤣 thanks for the nostalgia!
Please do THE OFFSPRING - COME OUT AND PLAY. It has MULTIPLE awesome guitar licks. It kicks serious ass.
Come out and play was inspired by the movie. warriors
I 2nd that!
@@Sim_racer_40oz "Warriors" is such a terrible and awesome movie at the same time. I love that thing.
You are missing "Original Prankster".
It comes from an episode of Ricki Lake Show, that they caught while writing this album.
If you notice this is actually the set of back to the future you can see the clock Tower in the background at one point.
2:54 is when the clock tower is most visible
"Courthouse Square". Been appearing in productions since the 1940s
The girl in it with the bum boyfriend was in The Pussycat dolls.
The Offspring: Bad Habit
You want a song everyone can relate to and is a release of anger, that's the one. You're right, they have different sounds and are more varied than I gave them credit for back in the day.
Agreed! Bad Habit is my favorite
My favorite to listen to when driving!! LOL
Come Out and Play and You're Gonna Go Far should definitely be next. You will know it's The Offspring, but they will sound completely different yet again. I was fortunate to see them live back in the day. Such a high energy, fun concert that was. Typical Offspring.
Its so great to see the low rider guy made it out of the hood long enough to make another appearance 😂
ahhh the days when we still had a sense of humor in the world lol
Yes
The Offspring was my soundtrack to my college years. Lolz so damn good and funny too. JAY'S reactions 🤣have been on point.🤣🤣🤣
Try reacting to the Prodigy song called Firestarter please.
OOO that's a great song.
YES PLEASE!!
Or breathe. Just please not smack my bitch up.
That song is incredible. Oh, going to listen now. Haven't heard that in a while.
Also, this is the Male version of TLC's No Scrubs
Next song react for Offspring: "Come Out And Play"
Probably their best song tbh at least in my opinion
Smart and a wicked sense of humor combined with a great sound. I love this band. Can’t wait until you do Come Out And Play.
Inspired by the Beatles "Ob-la-di ob-la-da." Immediately came to mind the second I listened to this. Lots of fun. Love it.
They ripped it off and got sued for it.
@@1974dormouse where are you getting that info from? I’m pretty sure no lawsuit was ever filed.
This song was everywhere when it came out. I remember some kids at school making up skits to this song.
there's one word you said in the video that describes the offspring with that single word!
RELATABLE!
and there album they released this year is just so them, it's like they had this all recorded back in the day n saved it for now 🙌
Did ya spot it? They're in the set from Back to the Future! That's the city hall with the clock tower they light up with lightning to get Marty back to 1985. :)
The Offspring was played at EVERY PARTY I ATTENDED in the 1990s. Just awesome.
There's a song by them called I Want You Bad - I might have the title wrong. Great song though.
Fun Fact:
Starting @2:39 the host in the game show scenes is a real-life gameshow host Bob Eubanks, who has hosted game shows like "The Newlywed Game" and "Card Sharks"
The Offspring are masters at biting social commentary
"The kids aren't all right" -- Perfect example.. imho.
After 15 years of not recording they are come out with a New Album soon
Uhm, album before next drop was "Days Go By" from 2012, no 15 years between those, almost 9 years though. I know it was pushed back several times from it's initial intended release in 2010, but they continued writing and working on it til it was released
WOW...What is this??? FOUR Offspring songs now??? I'm thinking you're a FAN!!!
Good for you...they ARE AMAZING!! Thanks for doing this!!!
Fun fact: The city they're walking around in for most of the video is the Back to the Future set.
Love the channel. Couple of suggestions for you.
Missing by everything but the girl (Todd Terry remix) such a classic.
Or true faith by new order. Dont know if you've done them already. 👍
I am a 47 year old woman binging on your reaction videos when I should be getting ready for work..............
I love this song
Another great one by the Offspring. I always thoughted it sounded a lot like "Obla di Obla da" by the Beatles.
True
Ah... good old clock tower square from back to the future
It is deliberately lifting the Beatles bass line and vocal melody in tribute. 🤘❤️🇨🇦
I won't pay, I wont pay ya, no way. La la la la life goes on.
"Spare me the details" THE OFFSPRING
Check out their song 'Gone Away'. The subject matter is serious...not silly like this and 'Pretty Fly for a White Guy'.
It's Beatles "Obla-Di Obla-Da". Same melody.
You'd love Fountains of Wayne Stacy's Mom. Catchy as hell with a great video.
I love your reactions, man! This song has made me laugh just about every time I've heard it :) ever since it came out.
Spot on! The Offspring are here to entertain:)
“Bad Habit” by The Offspring. Be the first to react to it
"Bad Habit" and "All I Want"
Hahaha, I love this one. The offspring songs are so funny sometimes. it's all real talk.
The Offspring...they don't copy nobody. A very rare breed. They are original. Love those guys.
You need to react to “Dakota” by stereophonics
The video was filmed on the Universal backlot. You'll notice the houses from Desperate Housewives and the town square from gremlins and back to the future.
Have you done Gone away? From the offspring... it’s completely different from their other songs and I’m sure you will love it ! 👍
Reminds me of my grandmother every time. "The Kids Aren't Alright" is another change o pace.'
3:00 ah...good old clock tower square from back to the future!
Hi, Great vid, A reaction I would love to see is Del Amitri Roll to me great to see that, best wishes Jeff
You havent done their best song yet. "Come out and play" ☺
These guys are so much fun in concert. 20 years later this song still gets the crowd nutsssssssss
Cool band The Offspring. Great song to the melody of The Beatles "OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA"
Offspring "Gone Away" came in 6th in 2005 Greatest Hits. It was written by lead singer Dexter Holland in an emotional response to his girlfriend’s death in a car accident. This song was what put them on the world stage.
Listen to Gone Away by them! different sound totally!
You must try “Frontier Psychiatrist ” by the Avanlanches it was a hit in the UK. It will freak you out 👍
Love that song!
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ you can sing this without feeling bad 😂😂😂😂😂 classic!!
i saw them live last year with simple
plan and it was SO fun im so glad to see people appreciating them. i always felt like they were really underrated but i grew up listening to them with my mom and they’re so nostalgic for me
I heard this song on the radio yesterday and thought you should hear this one. Now here it is! Lol.
Now you should do the Beatles Ob-la-di ob-la-da then you will know why you should do it.
This song is an anthem 😂
Love The Offspring! Tongue in cheek, hilarious and sometimes kinda deep!! 👍🏻
I like that you have a ELO poster on your wall. Jeff Lynne is 1 of the best and underrated composers of the last 50 years. Good to see the love is appreciated by others aswell.

Hey, that's something everyone can enjoy 😊
Such a cool little song. These guys are fantastic. Love your reactions, as always.
You have to read about the lead singer.... he’s an amazing, talented, accomplished and brilliant guy, literally! Some people just have it all.... 👍
Love the reaction thank youu! Love hearing the 90s alternate rock! I'll temp you with checking out Marcy Playground "Sex and Candy".. let's see if you can resist! Great reactions tonight as always and I heard 2 new songs I've never heard before, following along, thank youu!
by far one of the best timeless bands. Listened to them as a kid and now at 32 I still love their songs.
Offspring Live at Birthday Bash in Colorado USA. 🎼🎼🎼🎼
Not sure if someone's mentioned it or if you already knew but the lead singer Dexter Holland has a PHD in Molecular Biology
This song is such a take-off on the Beatles song Obladi-Obladah.
I know this song is from the late 90s, but I always get 80s vibes from it.
Their song "Bad Habit" from the album Smash was what introduced me to this band back in the 90's. Featured pretty much all the swear words I knew at time point, as a non-native English speaker. I was instantly hooked.

Have you heard 'What happen to you?' It's by Offspring also. One of my fav actually.
Want You Bad - amazing Offspring song.
You should check out some Theory of a Deadman songs. "I Hate my Life" or Bad Girlfriend" is a good place to start.
Admittedly, this was new to me, and it was totally hilarious!
too many songs to suggest , amazed . come out and play . million miles away . all fantastic .
Hey, one of my favorite songs, let alone one of my favorite Offspring songs, is "She's got issues." It was one of their lesser hits, IIRC, but I feel it's brilliant.
Buongiorno dall'Italia, fratello.
Sei il numero uno.
I still smile every time I hear your intro music. It's perfectly cheezy. lol
Hit that is another great song.
I laughed immediately when you paused after he said "My friend has a girlfriend and he hates that bitch"
I love love this song.
One of my favorite songs .
Woooooo
this was one of my first cd's back in the day this is a gret song
They did a good job on their video Kids aren't alright.
"Hit That" is another great song
Cruisin California! Awesome song from offspring
More, we need more Offspring, especially Come Out and Play.
I saw them live in 2019 pre COVID. They are still great and sound good live! ❤️💯
Please react to The Offspring "Hit that" , "Your gonna go far, kid" and "Kristy are you doing ok ?"

Nice to see you evolve and get *even more* more confident as your vids go! You got the charisma, keep it going hun :-)
I love your reactions, man. You're so authentic and fun.
Much respect to Dexter Holland and The Offspring. Did ya'll know he's a molecular biologist? I mean Wow, just wow.
The Offspring is Legend!
The Offspring. You gotta wear your big boy pants when listening to some of their songs. ;)
The Kids Aren't All Right is my fav Offspring song. Keep up the great work! Still hopin' to see Rump Shaker or Tootsee Roll song!
