11:50 Buy split ND filters. They sell them online. With split ND filters for the Air 3, the top is one stop brighter than the bottom so manual settings can remain the same when switching between cameras, with minimal change in exposure.
I love to watch your full flight tests of new drones along the river. The new Air 3 was very impressive, especially that new 3x camera. And the increased signal strength that 04 brings to the table. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Billy, do you have any problems viewing the display with your sunglasses on in the bright sunlight (wish the controller had a higher nit rating) Thanks for any info.
Yup, ordered mine the moment it was released, first time in sports mode, took me by surprise on climb out, can see a few crashes with the amount of breaking time.
I would to thank you . I stumbled upon a TikTok Time lapse video of the i95 rebuilding project that you made. Thanks to you I’m hooked, I am now the proud owner of a Dji Air 3.
Hi Billy, Did you take this video in the "performance mode? I just started playing with an Air 3. and yaw, regardless of how the gan/expo and smoothness are configured in "C" or "N" mode yaw isn't very responsive. Granted, my frame of reference is a Phantom 4 Pro which i use primarily for real estate still photography, and I'm used to "yanking and banking"
Had a Phantom 4 back in 2017. Had to get rid of it, and just picked up the Air 3 to get back into drone photography/videography. I am absolutely blown away. I think my favorite thing is the 70mm lens. Adds so much room for additional creativity.
I just picked up an Air 3 and also have and still use a Phantom 4 Pro. The P4P has the resolution advantage, ( im not sold on the 48 faux pixel set up), but the tech in the Air 3 is pretty amazing.
Who says the cam from the Air 3 is too sharp? Pretty awesome shots from the cam covering all the views. Nice one. Just a Question though ... What gain settings do you use for the DJI mic?
Hi! Thank you for ally our insights! I have a question today, but not drone-related: when you fly back for the first time at around 3:30ff there are very high thin towers visible in the background - what are these?
my question 4 u is.... how close ( depth persecption ) do you realise? I have a mini 2, Air 2 and now an air 3 , and closeness has always been an issue.
How is it for photography. I have the mavic 3 and use it a lot for photography. I do like using the 7x for shots that I don’t need to disturb people around. The one down side I hate is all the shots with the mavic 3 are slightly out of focus. Aways have to fox in post with topaz ai. Is this any better or will I still have the same results I get with my mavic 3.
I have the 4 pro with the rc2 and just picked up the bigger version of the 4 pro the Air3 to use with the same controller. That is a great idea DJI. Cant wait to shoot in wind and not wind
Billy, Awesome full flight and impressions video. I always enjoy you flying from the parking deck. Yes, it's a great way to compare previous drone flights. Thank you! So far, the DJI Air 3 is holding up well, especially with its new features. Thanks for your full complete review!
Best overall DJI drone right now!! Billy- the mavic3 is eating up dust right? lol so what’s the wind resistance level on the Air3?? Does it stand against the Mavic3? Thanks
Been flying her for a week and and loving every minute of it!! I haven’t been able to fly it outside my neighborhood just yet but will this weekend. My favorite part is the O4 signal strength! Before my Air 2s sold yesterday I compared the range it was unbelievable how much further it went than the Air 2s. Roughly almost 4500ft extra in all directions. For context I live in a heavily wooded city in GA
Nice video Billy. I’ve had my Air 3 a cpl of days now. Haven’t had a chance to fly it yet. Good review much appreciated. Looking forward to more in depth stuff.
I'm thinking the motors and battery (and therefore weight) are overkill because a pro version (1" sensor F1.7?) is planned... hopefully. Also hope they replace 70mm (which is only about 1.4x) with 100mm (2x zoom).
Finally got the ND Filters. DJI ran out on their store, I sourced them elsewhere. Have the Wide Angle Lens on order. This one creates a 14mm equivalent vs. 15.5mm for my Mavic 3 Pro. Because versatility. FYI - DJI did not make "split" filters for this drone (1 or 2 more stops for the 24mm equivalent main lens) why DJI? They DID split the ND's on Mavic 3 Pro, making the 70mm with 3.4 Aperture have less stops than the other 2 cameras. Its brilliant. I do not understand why they didn't here other than pure contempt for mid range drone buyers.
On the description of the filters from dji it talks about light transmission for the top medium tele being 13.4 mm and the bottom wide-angle being 12.4 mm. I'm learning as I go but is that considered "split" for the filter similar to the Mavic series?
Regarding the ND filter issue, Freewell (and probably other companies) makes a split ND filter to compensate for the fact that the two cameras have different apertures. :) *edit* - Oops, I was mistaken. They don't yet have split NDs for the Air 3.
Appreciate the insight..the Air 3 for the price point and what you get with it..minus some things..i.e variable aperture..is really great..and definitely worth considering..you can basically get 2 Air 3's for the price of the Mavic 3 Pro..haha was considering getting the Mav 3 Pro..but at the same time I didn't see myself using that 7x camera..now this Air 3 fits the bill with only the 3x lens added and the different logs that some people were comparing about while editing seemed not as good..while this Air 3 uses the same size stacked sensor and logs so the editing alone seems easier to deal with..haha they are probably going to put a 1" sensor and a variable aperture on the Air 3 S? haha thanks again for the content..
I was just about to buy the mini 3 PRO in the beginning of june but i raptured my acl patella so i couldnt go out anyway , now im almost happy it happened so i can buy this one instead when my knee is almost healed 😂
1, 2, 3… Mini 4 pro - 1 camera. Air 3 - 2 cameras, Mavic- 3 cameras. Base your purchase on your use case (and where you want to fly if you are just recreational user)
6:50 for me it's actually now high tier drone. But let's wait for mavic 4 I guess? Mini drones series is not even close to air 3 quality 13:00 btw you can't zoom to 9x while using camera mode, only when recording
I think I'll wait for the mini 4 because I want a small drone to compliment my M3. Then I can sell my MP2 that I use for a backup. Or maybe I should be happy with what I have and buy a new backdoor..LOL Anyway,I'm babbling, awesome review!
I've noticed the ADS-B (AirSense) in the Air 3 behavior appear to be quite different from the Air 2s. In It's default mode the notification sensitivity is quite less. I understand this receiver isn't a replacement for BLOS rules but I would like to see an upload of your evaluation dedicated to this. I see it functions in both the radar and map views. Is the altitude of the approaching aircraft reported on map view? I discovered the DJI Fly app does have sensitivity settings but I'd like to see a video of it's complete functions. I consider AirSense an important feature should understand how it works.
As a flying machine is awesome, but I think downgrading the main camera size from 1" was a huge mistake and probably DJI did it to introduce Air 3 PRO in a couple of months. Everything else is great in this drone, but I'll stay for now with my Air 2S.
DJI is lost in segmentation of product with no new ideas for long time now. Becoming very annoying for example no compability with diferent RC and O3 air unit and they are using same protocol.
I mean you must know that they are always going to come out with a new controller that is more capable right? Or did you expect that no new controllers would come out in the next 4 or 5 years?
@@vladimirlopez7840 silicium inside is same , difference between O2,O3,O3+,O4 is software wise so do not tell me that for example RC-N1 can not work with O3 air unit? As someone who plopped his hard-earned $3k on the M3P just a couple months ago, I am somewhat annoyed that they released this drone with my favorite features (the 3x focal length and great battery life) for so much less. Had they come out in opposite order, I'd have been happy with the Air 3 and not longed for the M3P. As someone who is primarily a nighttime stills photographer, I have to keep reminding myself about the superior sensor, but I'm not convinced it's worth $1000 more.

The Air 3 is Not fast. About 6 or 7 years ago i fly 86 km/h with my Phantom 4. why are newer ones Not faster than olders. In normal Mode my Air 2s Flys 16m/s and my Air 3 only 12m/s

I've been impressed with the same things. It's amazing how smooth it is in a full sport mode descent.
Always a trip seeing my building in these videos 🤣 Been tempted to get this one, but I'm gonna squeeze some life out of my Air 2S yet

How about cables? Does it avoid them?
I can’t find an answer anywhere. Does the Air 3 have 1 meter/second cine tripod mode?

I have the original mavic mini still and I'm finally looking to upgrade to the air 3
Billy! Love your vids! I am planning on flying around Philly this weekend, any recommendations? Local here in Hershey
Hit the art museum and race street pier - the two best spots to fly and get some awesome views

Does it have the bottom light like the mavic 3? Is it bright enough for VLOS?
