Hey guys! In today's video, Kaylee, her friend Caroline and I head to our favorite clamming grounds in Ocean County, New Jersey. We had a banner day of clamming, raking in over five dozen. We used our new clam rake from our friend, Rich, known as Rich The Clam Rake Guy on Instagram. Rich makes custom homemade clam rakes and let me tell you, this rake is a beast! This was our best clamming trip in a long time and I owe our success to this new rake. If you're in the market for a clam rake, message Rich on Instagram and purchase a rake, you won't be disappointed. Tell him Mike and Kaylee sent you and help out a small business.
That looks like a nice way to cook and serve those awesome clams. You can't get any fresher than that. I wonder if a sandcrab for bait rake is made. I don't know if they are popular in NJ like they are in other states.
Are they safe to eat during the summer? People say not to eat them during it cause of toxic algae, but clam season is year round and the NJ water quality map says most of Barneget Bay is approved all year. Just wondering because I want to start clamming next year.
