Love your videos. Am a big fan of Assateague. Love the OSV. Thanks for the hunting lodge videos also. And thank you for your Service. I enjoyed my time as a Marine MoM❤. My Son is a veteran also
Just was searching this site and came upon yours , i live in md but on the other side ( west or very far inland ) haven't been to OC for years but i do love to fish saltwater mostly all my saltwater fun has been on the outer banks nc in the fall keep up the good work, I'll be hoping to watch more of your adventures, thank you Larry
Great family video. Thanks for sharing. It's truly not fair that the beer industry has slowly programmed the younger generations that it costs a lot of money for a decent beer. I drink a few crafts but Yuengling in PA is thee last family American brewery that hasn't sold out to the big boys. Approx $18.00 for 24 pack of 12 oz for a great tasting beer. The brewery has been sold down to the next son for a few generations but the current CEO has 4 daughters I think. I like to support this family and all their relatives that work there over supporting the likes of In-Bev
This is a great video! I really enjoyed the family trip. I'm going to have to make some time to get back on the water. Living so close to the Assawoman bay, I figured Id be in the water much more, but such is life.
ah man Im all about this! To catch and cook my own seafood while on vacation would be pretty sweet! Gotta look into where one can possibly go clamming in OC.
Thanks!! I buy super high tech water shoes....the cheapest ones Walmart sells! 🤣 I honestly just buy a cheap pair of tennis shoes from Walmart, I think I paid $10 for them 6 years ago and they are still going strong.
Jay- I know the exact spot that you are Clamming. If you go a little further out into deeper water , another 20 ft, you will load up alot quicker and not so much rubbish. GREAT VIDEO AGAIN AND EXCELLENT HELPERS!
Shhhhhhhh! 🤫🤣 Giving up the secret spot! Haha I know where you are talking about. We got a whole bunch out there a while back before I started filming videos. Excellent place to go!
When is the best time to start clamming in OcMd or behind Assateague ? Are clams there year round or do they bury themselves really, really deep in the wintertime? Was curious, Love your videos 👍
You can clam anytime, there isn't really a "season". I'm honestly not sure if they bury themselves deep, I assume they don't. Right now the water is hovering just at 50 degrees, which is cold. Too cold for me to walk through the water. When the water temps warm up is when I like to go.
Sadly I don't know any....I clam on the Maryland side. I would suggest any spots on the bay side and check for sandy bottom. That's always the best places to find them.
Great clamming video with the family. The boys will remember these days forever. Thanks for sharing.
We still do it the old fashioned way just using your feet remember them days thank you for sharing
Looks like perfect relaxing day with the family! I’d love to live that close to the water. Always look forward to your videos
Thanks Dan!!
Wow thanks for the video. Love that you are teaching your kids how to do this and that you know the history going out there.

Without naming names, there is a local brewery I used to love. The prices are so dang high I can't justify it anymore. I agree, it's sad.
Sierra Nevada?
I've been going there since I was a kid for 32 years

Haha tell me about it! I've been slacking on the videos and only live a few minutes fro the bay and ocean!
@@ReelJayB Same here, I live 5 minutes from Isle of Wight.

Definitely worth it, and those clams can be big! We love doing stuffed clams too
I came across your video when I was researching clamming in VA. Thanks for the demonstration.. What kind of water shoes do you use ?

I'm seeing a few clams but mostly the whole frame is water. OK, here's a thumbs up and I'm heading on..

My name is Jeff and we go to Chincoteague once a year and we are going there in November 10
Hope you have a great time!! Chincoteague is real nice!
Do you fish the inlet going into Assateague.
Yup! Great spot to kayak fish!
@@ReelJayB thanks I’m going to make a Kayak fishing trip this week
Is Hoss still around?
He's still going! The bionic dog!
@@ReelJayB awesome! This is one of my favorite episodes. I’ve watched six times or more.
Any tips on good clamming spots closer to Chincoteague?

@@ReelJayB awesome thanks for the advice!

USMC ohhh rahhh
Ever see any sharks in shallow water while clamming?
No, they will usually get spooked and swim off. But there are sharks in the water. By the Assateague Bridge is a known shark spot.
@@ReelJayB interesting. Thanks!
