Hi folks. Great video loved it. I notice on your crab baskets there is a round ball right above where the lines come together. What is it for and where do you get them. Thank You as always Dan
😊Thank you! Those little orange floats are actually cut out “ pool noodle “, that you can buy from a dollar store for 99 cents. We just put a plastic stopper above and below it so it wont move, then secured it with a knot. It allows the lines to float and not tangle with any crabs going into the trap. Better success catching them as you pull up the traps. It was suggested to us by one of our subscribers. Works great!
i almost bought those crab tongs “grabbers” online but was worried that they were too short, and they could bite me, but i see they work very well for live crabs.. i will order some of those tongs.. great video!
Hello great video love it every time nice to you back crabbing if you don't mind me asking where did you get your basket from and where at in Linwood, NJ and have a good evening
Thank you! You can get one from a bait store for about $10. But we got ours from trash😆. Produce stores, farmer’s market or even Supermarkets usually just throw them out😊
My favorite couple. One more question about the pool noodle floats. What do you use for the plastic stoppers. Thank You in advance for your kind help. Dan
We cut out old plastic covers from food containers ( like those from Chinese take outs ). We trace the size of the noodle, cut it out and put a tiny hole in the middle just enough for the string to pass through. Then you just string them in. Stopper - Noodle - Stopper. Then secure them tight with a knot from the top😊.
Beautiful area. Where in Linwood is this? Going out for the first time this year. Missed last season due to broken thumb. Can’t wait to get back out there. Happy crabbing
Yes, the place was so nice. There were no bugs that day too! This was at E Poplar Ave, Linwood NJ. Right behind Linwood Golf Course. Its also known as the “Bridge Out” road. Good luck and happy crabbing🦀!
Another great video! I saw that place on Google maps but wasn't sure if I was allowed back there. I guess you are. Lol. I planned to go to 7 Bridges but it was too crowded, so I went around the corner to Green St. Park again. Didn't do too bad. It took awhile but I eventually ended up with 13. Also, great job to whoever does your video editing! I've only been doing it for a little while now and it's not easy.
13 crabs is another good day of crabbing!🦀. That first bridge in seven bridges does get crowded at times. You should try this place but make sure come during high tide. The water here seems to get too shallow. But 90% of our catch were males and keepers. Good luck on your next trip😊!
@@thandastones888 Next week I'm planning to go to a place I haven't been in about 30 years. Last time I tried to go there the road was flooded and the bridge was destroyed. @@thandastones888 I do to. But more than that I hope it's not crowded, because I don't have a plan B. I'll need to figure that out if I need too.
