Am working on my own 911 rebuild, and mostly post.on Pelican forum. I think the bulk of people who can afford 911's don't work on them, or are afraid to change ANYTHING. They want it all factory. They are cool cars, and I am enjoying your build process. B

I am in my 50's and have worked on many different makes/models. These cars sure are complicated and have little quirky problems no other cars have. That is what fascinates me about this 911. Issues common on German cars do not exist on American made cars, and vice-versa. The majority of owners of these cars do not work on them. Who can afford a $50K project car that is worth $55K after putting $30K into it??!?!? I do things different, very methodical and to the point with my work. Frequently Porsche owners repeat what they are told and have never actually done the work like you said. My car is done now (for a bit), and while looking over my work they are definitely a nice piece of "machinery" to own for sure. Truthfully, I have another one as my wife wanted a beetle and had to stop that kind of financial bleeding before it started. Thank you for watching and you will see another newer air-cooled 911 soon!

Nice budget build. I tried one of those fuse panel upgrades. The problem I found was the size of the holes to insert the wires were to small for more than one wire and any wire larger than 14ga..

Budget build?!? This is the most expensive thing parts wise I have ever done. Regardless of me doing every aspect of this car, I am completely upside down financially and will never get the ROI. I have kept a detailed spreadsheet of every expense on this car and will go over that in a future episode. About that fuse panel. I bet you could get a 10ga wire in there no problem. The issue is the current monitors and the constant draw on the battery. Great for something like an airplane or a show car, bad on a car you plan to drive daily.
